If your keen for a change I have a rare 29+ boost pike available for sale from my stache… pretty much like new and plenty of clearance and stiffness 🙂

Just out of interest how much did you have in mind for your tripster?

Had a similar issue, pulled back the covers and had a nosey and stuck a couple of spare bits of bar tape between the offending rattly bits.

Been fine for thousands of miles now:)

Maybe stick with the following for a little while yet as the little star next to the price sadly seems to indicate vat is excluded 🙁

I read on fox website that to go lower than 130 requires a damper change.

Suspect this may just be ideally and may lead to sub optimal damping characteristics but not seen it confirmed.

    Anyone tried?

Pondering the same here, wireless would help clean up the bars a bit too and it would be easier to swap out when kids seats go on the bike as well.

Previous posts suggest some good and some bad so bit hit n miss really but then the same seems to apply to other droppers too.

I’ve seen a few rumours on a reverb wireless too but no dates as yet.

Has anyone gone from 120mm upwardson the fox 34?. According to fox they recommend a damper change… is that an absolute or have I misread something?

I probably have a spare unused original set in my garage if any good?. They seem to go for about £15 on here of late if that appeals?

I think I’ve seen boost Sid’s and Reba’s may also do the job over on MTBr Forums, worth a google. Might be a bit twangy for some tho!!

Carbon renegade is good, light on road and stable off it. Not quite as flighty as an out and out roadie tho but Its great value too.

I swapped mine for a focus cayo disc which I quite like at the mo but that’s more road focussed which is where I ride mine 98% of the time. The focus Paralane may fit your bill but the carbon one is pricey at the mo.

I noticed the Saracen Avro is v cheap at Evans at the mo tho…. £899

Just built a black 2017 frame up for my wife which has come out great and must say I’m really drawn to the carbon 9.6 for stealth looks and versatility.

It’d be good to see a comparison of the Carbon to the Ally version. I may yet sneak a wee ride or two on the wifes yet as a benchmark.

It’s a tad small for me but with the curved seat tube giving and exaggerated seat angle and lengthening reach at full post height I should fit ok ish….for a trial or two anyway… just don’t tell her… shhh!

Where did you get 20% off Andy if you don’t mind sharing?

Oh and laughably the road wheels weighed more than the mtb wheels I took off!

While between road bikes I put some of my home built carbon 38mm deep road rims/dt Swiss hubs on my Ti Fireline Evo 29er. Easy swapable hub end caps help.

Had some pretty decent times too over a 50min commute. Looked a bit funky with the pikes but on plus side there was loadsa mud clearance haha.

Not had chance to try my wife’s (my stealth) 29+ bike as yet but I’ll let ya know.

I’m fairly committed though as I bought some carbon rims for it regardless so I have some Mulefut 29+ wheels for Sale if interested tho? :o)

On my 1x road di2 setup its just a case of holding down one shift button to check battery charge if it helps!

I’ve mainly used lightbicycle mtb and road rims to date.

    No probs so far!.

Thanks for that on and on. Almost look to nice to put on cyclo bike but they we do it on mtb’s so why not.

I won’t hold you to it don’t worry, I realise it’s just a finger in the air and subject to all sorts of variables.

Tend to build carbon wheels meself and stick with DT hubs and chinese Carbon rims so never really looked closely at Zipp as a bit pricey for me 🙂

    Gee76

Does the same go for Zipp Disc wheels? (more specifically Firecrest 202’s)

Would I be right in presuming they’re slightly less desirable as they’re well “disc” wheels but then no braking surface to wear so in theory have a much better life expectancy? (i.e. no brake wear surface!)

Cheapest price I can see is about £1399 new!!.

My Schwalbe pro one and light bike hookless road rims are holding up just fine at those pressures. I’d probably go for a little less pressure in the width of tyre you mentioned.

Aye similar experience here though IIRC there was an unfortunate self posting incident which delayed things and I also note the items I bought are still for sale. (Maybe to be expected given the user name – grey impots maybe!)

All good in the end, though so far anyway and turned up as described, although I’ve not built up the hubs yet so can’t comment ultimately I guess.

Sorry that was wildcat!!. Actually wildcat don’t seem to have much below £48.

Ah I see a wee bit of luxury with the tent there then 😉

You going through with this crazy plan then 😉

Wikdcat Lion looks a bit pricier but do they have alternatives lower down the range?.

Have ya figured what ya putting where yet?

Er what other bikes have you been building?… Motor powered ones?

Let ya off on the grass with work and all at the mo… Cut mine especially for ya tho avo;)

I’ve got it to work on my gravel bike (without a road link but using short cage di2 mech) albeit I’m running a single ring on the front.

We went in 2010 after the banking crisis and prices we’re pretty good then. We went out for dinner and drinks early eve then went back to our apartments for lots of drinking before heading out late to start the night.
Seem to remember heading to Damon Albarn’s bar for early drinks which were reasonable and a good mix of clientele to er mix with. The nights got messy after that so not sure where we ended up… Think there was an “English” pub, a good old dirty rockin n moshing club and some other clubs. Seem to remember staring at the sky in the early hrs trying ti convince our very drunk selves we could see the northern lights.

Top tip: Make sure you can get back in your digs in the early hours… It gets really cold in oct/nov… Thank god I had a giant penguin suit to keep me warm!

Can’t put my hand on it right now but basically you dismantle the main knuckle/joint on the mech (where the cage attaches) The spring inside is usually set to an average tension. There are multiple holes to insert the spring into so you simply insert into a slightly different hole (which winds the spring up a little tighter) and reassemble and hey presto…. Sorry worst explanation ever… Google is much better at this kinda stuff than me 😐
