My parents lived there for a number of years & I did the Checkpoint Charlie thing when over once – before the wall came down, then 3 years ago I went again and this time walked to the CC from the East it really did my head in.

Have been to Berlin & on a track – not at the same time though.

If you get chance to go on the track do so its brilliant

The Xmas fairs are really worth a visit, depending on how many weeks it is until you go, the boat trips around the city pretty good too, possibly depending on the weather

I bought one, not dissimilar to that, our office is a converted barn, first flight the helicopter leapt 20 feet in the air, hit a roof beam & dropped like a stone to the hard floor – doh!

    Be careful

I did it at 30 & was fine – well plastered most of the time but thoroughly enjoyed it, no massive skills, did some cleaning, cooking, ski repair, ski guiding, decorating, anything anybody needed I was up for

    Go for it

Am out to play tonight & am hoping that my light will be on the door mat when I get home – it’s just like waiting for Xmas 🙂

I’ve got a 3g one & like it, I can download books when I want – its not a question of unread ones or 3000 on there its a question of if reading on a topic and you want to find out more about it then you can get other supporting books easily. I do use the web browser too, it is clunky but once again for referencing something makes sense

Don’t forget time, that multiplies it by another huge number so even more likely

I am very happy with the comment “it is extremely unlikely that we are alone”

I did like the new one, “No Spare Parts” although very much like “Can’t always get what you want” but if asked (I wasn’t) I would have said 1970ish, not 2011

Didn’t read it in the Daily Mail, possibly Uncle Adolf but he had a different view, pockets of civilization populated by tall, blond, blue eyed, intelligent people with lots of workers outside. Always struck me as odd that he was short, brown haired who appeared to believe in inbreading which would not help much.

Anyway back to the point above something bad will happen, probably biological, maybe caused by us, maybe not. Mankind will get over it and adapt – or not.
If we do get over it chances are it will be the outer edges geographically who do so we may all look like pacific islanders or amazonian indians. At least if its the former there will be good rugby and nobody about calling others mongs 🙂

    Are you talking about now?

Whats the odds there are other lifeforms – personally I think there must be somewhere, however if your question is have there ever been or will there ever be other lifeforms then that increases the odds massively in an infinity x infinity kind of a way

Or maybe it depends if God made them, or do other universes have their own imaginary friends?

Anyway I’m not the Alien (which is an in joke so not funny but I have a mate who is)

I read somewhere that we will split into two races, one tall, thin, smart the other shorter squatter & better at menial tasks

Not sure when though, however I am encouraging my kids to think tall – just in case

Not funny in the past, neither is he in “An Idiot Abroad (pt2)” – I used to think it was ironic humour now I realise he is just a bully

Desperate to watch it but am having to shuttle my kids around various football matches. I need to ensure I can stay away from all info about the rugby until I get home & can watch the recording – its never the same not live.

I think all kids football fixtures should be delayed untiul the afternoon tomorrow – hurrumph

Almost every contribution to this thread I grin wistfully to myself & think “yeh, that too” – or have a private moment trying to get the fly out of my eye

As my son would say EPIC thread

I did find it striking how like Senna Hamilton is or can be, also how much the establishment (Balestre) was against Senna

His death was the only time I have turned a GP off, after Barichello, Ratzenburger & Senna I felt the event & coverage should be stopped out of respect for the drivers & victims.

Hora +1 I was into Mansellmania as well

Mine arrived last Friday & I watched it over the weekend.

I do remember a fair amount for watching the GP’s at the time but enjoyed the behind the scenes. Really enjoyed it & it does show that history does repeat itself.

At the time I wasn’t a huge Senna fan, over the years I have moved to being a bigger fan & watching the docufilm makes me think I am right to having done so.

    A remarkable driver & man

Very happy being a plastic Taff this weekend 🙂 Is it too much to dare to hope to win the World Cup? I think so but anything can happen so I will keep it hidden & hope for the best while listening to Max Boyce daily.

England – the RFU don’t let anything decent happen & I think the first person to go has to be Rob Andrew – very little decent has happened since he got there – well grinding out wins & lucking out has happened but rarely have I watched a match thinking England should win easily, its always too much of a hope they grind it out in the end

I don’t doubt that – just came up 2nd best in that encounter

Am certainly looking forwards to both Saturdays matches will get the first but have to take my son to football for 09.15 – then need to make sure I do not hear the result so can rush home to watch the England Match

I thought it was Ben Cohen, the “next big thing” who ran into Craig Quinnel and realised he wasn’t as big as he thought he was.

That’ll be the game when Max Boyce was in the choir and came out to sing Hymns & Aria’s at Wembley 🙂

Went for a walk & watch around it with the kids – looked like they had managed to pick most of the decent trails, looked like hot work though.

No.79 if you are here, thanks for the wheelie, the kids liked it & I got a photo 🙂
