Yeh, have made sure that everybody knows we are just mates & they are free to bring other mates along but thats all it is a mates ride. In this case we are fine, he is cool about it, it just caused me a few moments of concern.

    Mates rides it is.

Not sure about setting up a club, I’m not really a clubby person – despite organising stuff. MBL course would be cool one for a periodwhen money and time are more available than now

Binners, I couldn’t agree more & luckily in this case thats what happened it was the fact we didnt know this guy, he was a friend of a friend and if he was of the sueing kind I was wndering where it could lead

If you are a student then I suspect anybody doing coursework while not drinking gives an unfair advantage.

    Go for it

Mind you I got kicked out for never going to lectures & being in the pub all day so possibly not the most balanced view

Shelina or Tom as well… I think Tom has more natural talent but Shelina runs him close and doesn’t cock up the timing.

Yeh Scaredy, I know what you are refering to, I have no axe to grind any which way.
As far as I am concerned they are a LBS that I know the people in, they have looked after me & my bikes for years and I have nothing but praise for them.
All local shops need all the help they can get at the mo and I for one find them good to deal with.

Hopefully this post will be taken the way it is meant which is support the local economy and those who have put themselves out to help regular customers.

The misses and I have very fond memories of a fruit sunday thing they did for breakfast at Le Baton Rouge, well worth trying for a healthy mix of fruits, yoghurts etc etc

My wife has lots of rellies in Simonstown, they recommended Delheim in Stellenbosch – well worth a visit, the location & food were fantastic.

In Franschhoek I think the place we stayed was Le Baton Rouge, very nice and comfortable not expensive & great breakfast

The difference is they were cars designed by engineers, that slowly changed over time, sorry to see them go 🙁

Cool episode from our family side, I had a caterham for a few years & my old man had an original mog 3 wheeler.

I know where they are coming from about using the cars in bad weather, my 7 had a windscreen & hood (which took 45 mins to put up after leaving it in the airing cupboard for a couple of hours) was a nightmare in the rain, not enjoyable.

That Bentley though, that made me feel all funny (in a very good way)

My first car was a 99, Dad bought it new in 1971 and passed it on to me 13 years later with 150,000 miles on the clock, a great bit of kit and one that he was reasonably sure wouldn’t end up killing me in my first year of car ownership.

Brilliantly engineered, he still runs SAABs and plans on his current one lasting out his driving years

Excellent topic, I would live to think they are out there – I had an incident while on a canal bank at midnight and heard some very odd noises and the definate feeling of being watched. 24 hours later a mountain lion was “spotted” about 3 miles away – the Beast of Basingstoke no less

I wouldn’t put it quite that way, his day to day business partner is Des. As I understand it there was some finance behind the scenes that has been very rocky for a number of years, I think this is re-financing and going with a new start… although I imagine the other party doesn’t feel that way.
Knowing what I think I know I have no issues with taking my business to Pedal Heaven.

As I understand it from Des there will be the same staff in the new shop. Had the guided tour the other day & great facilities and space in the new premises

The background to CK was complicated to say the least.

I am constantly astounded by the brilliance of many of the photographs on here but I do wonder how many of you carry tripods wherever you go – keep it up though I love the night shots

    spitfire/gt6/herald/vitesse

lots of people make spare bits, access to everything is easy, cheap and a spitfire with gt6 underneath is a nice soft top and sounds good or is that a GT6 with spitfire body or vitesse engine etc etc

Been using them for everything since about August, generally they are fine although sometimes I get an odd sensation from them as though I had a puncture or lose bearings, always on the rear. They are a bit sketchy at the mo in the mud but nothing too bad.

Answer 2, keep each company as a single block with sub paragraphs or the feeble minded will think you have had lots of jobs

Thoroughly enjoyed it, looking forwards tot he rest of the series 🙂

Running over 200mph on the Nardo bowl and those lap times at Imola take some skill & bravery, there is more to them than is let on.

metters +1, although my mother in law was a GP & when I had done the same as you & lost the box she said 2, 4x a day – which I did for a week with no side effects.

Not sure I would recommend it though, my MOM may have been trying to kill me off 🙂

I ride there regularly and have chatted to the warden about it, hopefully as long as people watch their P’s and Q’s we will be ok.

Normally only come across soldiers on night rides when we do our best to keep out of their way or be friendly if not.

CGGuru, we did a couple of holidays with the kids there and it was very good. People seem not to want to go to the top of mountains when they start (I guess a feeling that mountains are steeper at the top) At Le Clusaz you park in a col and ski straight from the car or hotel if you staying there. You can see where you will be learning and certainly my kids enjoyed it

I was chatting to my brother in law about this last year.

We did a 110 mile bike ride and I asked him if it was harder than running a marathon.. he said definately not although I wonder why & assume that it is down to the body getting battered more.
It took us just over 7 hours, I did not have a heart rate monitor on but we were not taking it that easily. The Marathon took him 4 hours at a not dissimilar energy output so in theory the ride should have been harder.

Sorry to hear about your mate.

I wasn’t riding but was wandering about with my 8 year old and a camera, I did get some photos although nothing brilliant, mainly the 4 hr people but if you have your race no. I am happy to look through and email over any that have you in them.

We were up there for a night ride on Tuesday, look like some really nice new trails have been created for it. Ground conditions were excellent with very little mud about, a bit slippery on wet roots (rocket rons on) but that was mainly because it was freezing.

Raining at the moment but not due to be much so I hope the trails will still be good on Sunday.

Am not racing but hope to take the kids and camera to watch the action 🙂

Been reading my STW on it for a couple of months, not as good as a glossy mag but much easier to carry around and dip in & out of between books or when waiting for a train etc

Gout here; not the same but not that different. Have you tried cherry pills (I get mine from Cherry Active) they are supposed to help & appear to in my case
