I always liked the Lancia Rally Car (S4?) they used them for Rallycross as well, both supercharged & turbocharged, sucked & blew & then went Tisss

Never came across one on the road though.

Cap’n. Sort of, the one I read was this, as I understand it it is a slight re-write with Simon Jenkins adding more about the political side of things.

It did make me grin gently, having read the Sharky Ward book as well, he doesnt get a mention… so perhaps some of the others involved do not think he was quite as much Mr Sea Harrier as he thought.

It was quite interesting chatting to a few mates who were down there & getting their input compaired to Hastings’ book. They seem very close.

Ian Munro, I hear you, in theory you can give more than you have by borrowing etc …but a sportsperson cannot give 110% effort, 100% is the most you can give.

Totally Rad(ical) is another… its either radical or it isn’t

    Tautology does my head in.

The most ultimate etc etc… "giving 110%" does as well, its not possible.

I have one, cant say which one though.

My iPod battery is shagged, so I just leave it in the glove compartment… but it is controllable, to an extent, through the head unit. If you set up playlists then the headunit shows them as cd’s which can then work as tracks one after the other or random play.

I just set it with 6 playlists & leave it to its stuff …independant songs I dont think it can do though

We went a couple of years ago, always wanted to since a novel I read as a kid … Hammond Innes/Douglas Reeman type thing set in Iceland.

Reykjavik is smaller than you may think but a couple of days gives time to see the blue pool, a big waterfalls & tectonic plates splitting & geysers etc.

I think its the kind of place for a long weekend or a good few weeks when you can go around the rest of it.

Glad I went except for asking mrs geejay to move in with me when there & ordering a double brandy to celebrate …. she is doing fine, the brandy nearly broke me … still should be better now.

I am a mountain biker not a thrill seaker anymore, I have done that & have decided that I am the wrong side of 40 to risk breaking stuff now.

I find it quite interesting the different ways people get their thrills & what does/does not scare people, I dont like steep stuff & try to ensure that my tyres never leave the ground or if they do then only by an inch or two … however I like speed. With the peeps I cycle with I often bottle stuff they will do but am normally the fastest down the moderately tricky bits where they are all hauling on their anchors, so I guess it depends on how you define things.
