we did have a discussion about if they were real or stick on for effect ones. I prefer to think of the former

I wouldnt have understood at 14 but I heard a story about Diana Dors came from Priddy.

The story goes that her real name was Diana Fluck & when she came back to open the local fate the local vicar was asked to introduce her, he was desperate not to make the obvious mistake & said “known to the rest of The World as Diana Dors but better known to us as Diana Clunt”

As a kid, about 14 years old a mate & I cycled down to Wells from Fleet in Hants, my main two memories are being chased by a farm dog at the top of Cheddar … Priddy I think & then getting a puncture with no repair kit going down the gorge itself so I had to walk down half of it 🙁

Spent more time as a ski / beach bum … but probably would have needed a bigger liver rather than tessers, that seems to be the bit that suffered n=most

My Mother in Law was a GP she chuckled when I told her I thought I had broken the knukle of my big toe.

I think that most events have been triggered, first time was a skiing holiday & I think that as well as being tired & run down I had been banging my toe against the end of my boots. Since then problems have occured when I have been tired & unwell. I try to keep half an eye on my diet, basically a mental list of things with purines, if my toe starts to ache then a few days off the bad foods & booze plus plenty of water & more cherry juice.

Oh, just read Doc’s post. Yeh agreed, I seemed to suffer when tired, de-hydrated, ill etc rather than after a binge.

I do have a copy of a suggested diet if you want one

Ha, they have had to take those alchohol hand dispensers out at the local hospital because people keep eating the gel!

Oh the noise, take some very loud fireworks, The Dutch will it can be like WW3 kicking off at times, the cars pass so often that you get used to them.

I have started taking some fruit etc as well, on the circuit you can eat lots of meat & chips but after a while the desire for fruit & veg grows.

We also head off to a decent hotel on the way back (Sunday Night), a shower in clean surroundings is always nice

Excellent, it should be great, we have been lots of times on my webby site I put together a list of stuff to take Le Mans Linky

If it looks to be wet try not to camp in a dip. Whatever happens make plenty of time to walk around the car parks & see what others have brought car wise. Friday used to be mad, if you are lucky you may find it all kicking off at Arnage in the late morning, the Rozzers have cut down on it a bit though. Take time to drive round the circuit on Friday anyway. Tartiflette is best eaten at 04.00 & do go on the big wheel but dont look at what is holding it up first.

    Have fun!

all I can say was that despite the turbo etc mine was. Basic body shell & internals was fine & comfortable. I didnt bother about changing it because it did everything.

Eventually I had to put new tyres on it & there was a turbo issue that meant it was going to be about £1200 in bills & it was worth about £1k. I PX’d it as I couldnt be bothered with the work myself … its still local & somebody has obviously done the work, I still see it around (sob) every couple of months.

No rust at 150k miles either

tankslapper, I was wondering about the Dolly, am trying to remember but I think my Dolly Sprint had a yellow badge on the rad saying sprint rather than Dolomite, I may well be wrong though.

Happy days & expensive moment when I dropped a valve …doh, doh, doh

I had a T4 for 8 years, pretty good really, a harsh ride & not massive for an estate but big enough for me (with wife & two kids), it did everything it said on the tin, didnt break down, felt as solid with 150k on the clock as it did when I got it with 80k on the clock & a lot better than many cars only a year old.

Mine was thirsty & did use tyres but that would be the T4 bit rather than the V40, should go on for ages & be pretty cheap to run & feel safe & solid.

I thought last weeks was a bit pour & nearly didnt bother to watch but last night had some great (although cheap) lines, made me laugh out loud a number of times.

Bolly :- ” ahh, I see, so you are playing with them”
Gene :- “nah love, its just the way I am standing”

My brother in law was an RAF flyboy, it was a pain (although he wasn’t), ask him about his day at work & he would have been out in a Tornado all morning playing around, bombing poor innocent targets etc etc, my normal “sat in the office” sounded distinctly lame.

Still better now he is in 747’s I dont feel nearly as envious
