Swanage, life just bimbles by, nice beach & the purbecks 🙂

Although it does get a bit busy in Summer … however the fireworks from the pier help make up for that

I have tried loads of different types & am consistantly hit & miss at getting it right … or was until I started using a whetstone I can get a decent edge even on cheap nasty knives that tend to be a hrader steel so hold an edge longer when you buy them but are then basically rubbish

Yeh, I was pretty pleased that they came back & that we had come up with something they hadnt been asked before… & burning up their computer time to check it 🙂

I suspect they could tell that Ferrari could manage 83 degrees & the Renault about 53 🙂

Soooooo, I have heard back from McLaren, the odd thing is that STW (& I) appear to be wrong

    Dear Geoff,

This is a very interesting question and one we have never been asked before, although people have talked for years about the possibility of F1 cars running upside down in a tunnel, which is possible, so going vertically up a wall took a bit of thinking about!

Unfortunately, it is not possible and the reason is that the engine is not quite powerful enough to drive the car quick enough to generate the down force that is necessary to produce the traction that is needed at the rear tyres, given that the engine has also got to overcome gravity on top of everything else, but it could go up at slope at 85 degrees.

I hope this answers your question,

    Kind regards

I have been watching the new around the world in 80 days & it demonstrates that like Ray, Michael Palin adds much more by not forcing his personality on it … Bear Grylls does & the Beeb Celebs are doing so

Lots of calories there… or at least Ray appears to have found them 🙂

He does a great job of making it look easy doesnt he

Get your phone out, take a pic of them … from a distance … then you have something to show the rozzers

I have the same issue, my MIL is also short so anything that goes high up gets stuffed in to lower shelves …. the one that has the misses hopping is when the airing cupboard gets "re-organised" … still its free childcare so the pluses outweigh the minuses

I didnt ask McLaren about converor belts, think I should?

My sons original question was would an F1 car be able to drive up a road to the moon, I initially said no, it would run out of fuel …. but I guess actually it wouldnt, the atmosphere ends not that far away so next years cars should be able to make it then it just needs clever people who can work the trajectory … my head hurts now.

Me too, shame isnt it, that would have been much more fun to do as an experiment …

If STW fails me then I will try McLaren & see if they can answer it.

I was going to say Layer Cake until The Long Good Friday was mentioned. I love the last scene when Bob Hoskins has been captured his face in those final couple of minutes is brilliant, best acting ever.

I was up there again yesterday & mentioned it to a couple of offical looking people who were out sorting the feedbins etc, so now I have passed it on, they say it happens & that cautions will be handed out if they catch people ….

In answers to your questions above, they probably were southerners, I am, its in the south but they were too far away to tell.

Helping catch the dogs, am not sure about that; I dont have a dog & while not being nervous of them I dont know too much about them but would you? Two medium to large sized dogs, obviously in an excited state & I had two smallish kids with me, I was quite happy for them to stay a reasonable distance away from me.

didnt have a gun with me (oddly I dont have one at home either) that would all of got very interesting though… imagine the owners, assuming they could see that far, as there was a shot & the mutt keeled over 🙂

TJ thats the problem, I could try & track down a number now but what are they going to do about it … its just winding my up gently …if there had been actual contact then I could have given a description of the dog but now I had may as well just forget it.

We had a conversation aboutthis in the summer.

My brother in law has done the London Marathon in 4 hours, he also cycled 100 miles with us in the summer in 6 hours. He says the marathon was harder (& I believe him) even though he was putting in similar effort for longer.

IT Recruiter – the esteem from my fellow humans is nice 😕 but not much joy in the job at the mo, lots of people I have known for years who need jobs but nothing around to offer them & too much time scratching around trying to find things to do when I would rather be busy
