Really enjoyed it & plan on watching the rest of the series ..if I am out I shall even record it & watch later!

Quite happy if Amy Williams does come back for more laps, she is quite easy on the eye (IMHO)

Scalextric, all my rellies scoured the ads in the back of papers & bought me 2nd hand kits … I went from no kit to 150 bits of track & 10 cars in a day…. oh the excitement… then the stress when I was in bed & could hear my Dad & Grandfathers playing it.

    Luckily Mum stopped them 🙂

I have suffered for about 30 years & I thought this year was actually pretty good …until about a week ago when all hell broke lose.

not sure about the ash, thats pretty inert I think but it does depend on the type of pollen that you are alergic to (its fruit pollens with me).

I gave up with too many pills beconaise for the snozzer & opticrom for the eyes works best for me.. just treat the symptoms theres not much you can do about the cause

I believe that there was some salad nearby …we made a mistake not going to Le Mans so decided on a last minute meet up at a mates house. We did however have Wives in tow so we let them have salad while we stood around the bbq drinking too much Amstel (I know but it was in honour of a "French" event) … and scoffing burgers etc

Waitrose deli counter had a Reblochon (savoir).

Here's the finished artice – inspired by 2Tyred, its not potatoes & cheese it is Tartiflette

My girlfriend once went completely crazy on a walk after a large helping of dried dates. Properly mental till all the sugar wore off.

D_S there's your problem, Cafe Rough not Tartiflette… anyway tis best in France & when at Le Mans its great late at night to help mop up the beer (just before the cognac crepes) also perfect breakfast material.

Also good after skiing if thats your thing ….basically anytime when there is beer around 🙂

    BenjiM, thanks for checking

    Excellent, Singletrack comes through 🙂

Fleet, Hants if there is anybody close. Waitrose sometimes has it but mainly not.

2tyred, you are probably right, if it doesnt feel like a heart attack on a plate then it probably isnt tartiflette.

The creme fresh in that recipe looks better for me than the double cream in the other.

I could be eating more than 1 tartifette this weekend 🙂

I saw it last week, very interesting and in retrospect it was all mad from the drivers and their time in car, the lack of safety equipment, the lack of protection for the public etc.

Have been to the race a good number of times & stood in the (new) grandstand there and had a quiet thought about what went before me.

    A tragedy for all involved

Historically China has used other countries as buffers, Vietnam, N.Korea etc, it would prefer to keep "enemies" at arms length… any invasion/attack etc on these buffer zones has resulted in a response from China.

There may or maynot be an official pact between China and N.Korea but it would be far too easy to provoke a reaction that was not wanted.

Can't go wrong with cowboy boots…the problem is they disappear, I do not understand why but they just vanish.

Whenever I am single I get a pair, whenever I get married they vanish.

I suspect there is a kind of superhero thing going on the cowboy boots think their work is done & they go to help some other poor lonely soul (sole?)

Get the book when you are there (like I didnt) & you can have a signed copy.

I enjoyed the book, it is a book writen by an adventurer rather than a writer who has done an adventure, but no worse for that.

tommid, I didnt phrase it exactly like that but did say that the documentries showed him complaining a fair bit … he agreed & said that for the round the world he had no input about the editing & they did it showing max impact … ie when he was suffering most. He also said that he wrote every word of the book & he felt it portrayed what actually happened better. His first hour was a lot like the book & helped flesh out his experiences.

    The talk was 19.30 – 20.30, then 30 mins interval. Then 21.00 – 22.00.

We were at the venue about 45 mins before he was due to start talking (because there is a bar in the foyer) and Mark was in the reception area happily chatting as well as signing books & selling shirts etc (or his mum was doing the selling), so if you are kicking around early its worth dropping by

I saw him in Camberley last night, really enjoyed his talk, it was great hearing the extra bits about how he had to film for tv too, even more respect for him.

Had a quick chat with him before the show too …very nice unassuming guy seemed quite happy to pass the time of day.

Take Douglas Adams advice :- Don't Panic!

One of the best bits of advice I was given was warm the cot before putting the baby in it, then they may not notice that they are not on you anymore.

Certainly load up the dvd/sky+ for the first couple of nights you may well be stuck in front of the tv while the misses catches some sleep & the baby may not settle.

You may have missed some bits but about 2 hours covers it. Minley Manor is worth a try too.

On the road bike we tend to head out through odiham & then down towards winchester / alresford

    mappy thing

Oh there are trails behind the CSC building, right up to the top of Caesars Camp from the back fence.

Darkside, pay a trip to cycle kingdom in Fleet, there are a couple of fairly decent roadies there who can talk you through places to go.

I have a couple of gps routes I can email over if you want them… I cant say I would recommend me taking you out on a road bike, slow & out of practice I am afraid, this lot[/url] are probably worth an email too, I havent riden on the road with them but have been along to a couple of their velodrome days & a good bunch of people
