Excellent choice though, meccano cars it will rust and go wrong but is easily fixable.

I had a mate with a Herald Estate that we used to take down to Poly, Farnham to Plymouth, close to 200 miles… starter was gone so it always had to be parked at the top of a hill, gearbox was knackered so it was get into fourth as soon as possible then use a bungey to hold it in gear …. worked like that for years.

I replaced a Dolly Sprint (having dropped valves into the engine) with a spitfire, swapped the shocks and springs as well as pancake airfilters and straight through exhaust … the spitfire was much more fun, you could manage understeer, oversteer and 4 wheel drifts all under 30mph… it taught me loads 🙂

Oh, that tank (destroyer) is nice.

I got a Revell airbrush for about £17, it had a damaged connector in it. I sent them an email to get a replacement but gave up waiting and bought a draper airbrush for about £10 which appeared to have a similar connecting line in it (typically Revell have sent me a replacement now) so far I have only used the revell airbrush but if you want to dip a toe in the water (said in Guy Martin accent) the draper would almost certainly be just as good.

I then had to buy a new tin of propellant as the one that came with the revell brush was soon gone.

What do people do about mixing paint? I sort of go with a bit of thinners in one of the mixing pot and then a little tin of paint. However I end up throwing most of it out. Do you have loads of little glass jars full of mixed paint or do you just throw out the unused?

The girl who sat in front of me in 4th year French couldn’t get enough of that song, which is odd because I in my spotty, tongue tied, how do I ask you out kind of a way felt the same about her and the tight skirt and sweater she wore…… happy days

More Russian madness, according to the email I got

The most amazing airplane in History….For the Airplane Buffs.

Built in Russia during the 1930s, it flew 11 times before crashing and killing 15 people.

The designer, Konstantin Kalinin, wanted to build two more planes but the project was scrapped.

    Later, Stalin had Kalinin executed.

Evidently, it was not good to fail on an expensive project under Stalin.

It’s got propellers on the back of the wings, too. You can count 12 engines facing front.

The size would be equivalent to the Empire State Building on its side, with cannons.

And you think the 747 was big… not only a bunch of engines but check out the cannons the thing was carrying.

In the 1930s the Russian army was obsessed by the idea of creating huge planes.

At that time they were proposed to have as many propellers as possible to help carrying those huge flying fortresses into the air, jet propulsion has not been implemented yet.

Not many photos were saved from those times because of the high secrecy levels of such projects and because a lot of time has already passed.

Am doing a lanc at the mo (for my kids honet), I got an airbrush for Xmas from my sister brilliant bit of kit and definately the way forwards the finish is much better.

The kids now have bits of fishing line strung across their ceilings so I can hang the planes …. they models really are for them – oh except for the mosquito when it comes next. Don’t tell the misses but its going in the kitchen 🙂

ish … they do a set for the local bike shops that have XPG leds in and call them XPG lights (which I have), other than that I believe they are identical.

I’ve had mine for about 8 months and they have been very good, battery is fine although secured with two velcro straps (supplied) which feels a bit Heath Robinson but in practice works perfectly so if maybe the best option anyway.
I use mine as bar lights, they give plenty of light and are great in woodland … the only downside is the “throw” they do not seem to light a long way down firetracks … I believe that the XPE leds esp with narrow lens is better for this.
I also use a joystick helmet light for general riding the two lights work brilliantly

Bib shorts are also warmer on the lower back and mean you dont give a builders smile as the lycra shirt slowly but surely climbs over the love handles 🙂

Having a pee can be difficult with bibs so they are not ideal if you are planning on hitting the pub afterwards…. stripping off in the mens toilet is not good news.

I guess it they don’t give the ok the only thing is to get another domain – troutie.co.uk or other suffix (if thats right word for a following bit) – a right royal PITA 🙁

    Yup, Thurs/Friday last week

Luckily I was just hosting there, domain was owned by 123-reg so just moved there. There was talk about them going down so I approached nominet just in case and got this back :-

Web mania had been experiencing some technical difficulties, we had a few reports come into us yesterday regarding this.

I am pleased to advise that this morning I have been informed they are back up and running as usual.

It looks as though if problems are on-going

joeydeacon – ftp access didnt work most of the time either so Trout may not be able to get access, I spent two days not being able to get on, then got lucky during a temp up time

    Had similar with same co.

I believe that if you approach nominet then you can force webmania to pass the domain along to another host.

Nominet will not be surprised to hear from you.

I found my access was intermittent but managed to ftp a copy down in one of the uptimes.

    Good luck

Also the ladies of the forum think she is up to something odd – listen to them, they are better at this stuff than we are!

I think the stig shown on Sunday is not the new stig, ’cause it was filmed middle of last year.

My bet is Ant (LHS +1), already works for the beeb, is tiny and can drive alot

Samuel L’s wallet, when he tells Christopher Plummer its the one that says bad mother****** & it does, first time I saw that I thought brilliant.

Not a bad bit in it as far as I can remember – mind you its been a year since I watched it, time to settle in for Pulp Fiction & Layer Cake for a couple of nights I think

Quite happy with a permit type solution and an onus on local riders to pass on any info about use/abuse, bad constructions, forest fires etc etc.

We come across training much more on night rides, most rides we see soldiers about but as soon as we do then head off to a different bit of the land, doesnt seem to benefit anybody if we crash into each other
