Enjoy it. TSY +1, Cornwall is lovely to look at but a pain to ride on the coast road… very pleased I did though.

TSY, as LabWormy says its probably down to the pack. Our troop leader is (very) religious, a couple of prayers at the end of each meeting and Scouts Own (like a mini church service)on Sunday am at camp.

I don’t do religion, went to a Methodist Boarding School and it convinced me that leading a good/moral life is very important but there is not a god other than human spirit generally (but that’s another discussion) – I figure that I do more for the general community by keeping quiet about that belief (or lack of) and helping the kids learn some stuff than getting on my high horse and doing nothing for anybody. So I ignore the religious bits.

If that makes me sound pious or as though I am preaching then sorry, I am neither but would rather do something than nothing.

TSY, it does indeed, another Scout Leader here – the misses said it would be good for me.

Can’t say I do religion and if asked I just give a softened down version of my views. Just come back from a weekend camp with out lot, still using canvas tents and collecting firewood so we can do all meals cooked on open fires etc.

I do have issues though, the stuff we do is all stuff I should enjoy, we start cycling badge this week, use axes, knives, saws, learn to tie knots and build stuff…. if only it wasn’t for the kids, little sods appear to have no respect or desire to learn. I just have to hope some of what we try to tell them stays with them.

Was chuffed to bits when my 8 year old saw Ms Bradbury(walking away from camera) & said is that Mum? – I have to say I wasn’t half as chuffed as my misses 🙂

It drives me nuts, every so often I come downstairs to slug trails, hall / kitchen / lounge, quite random which room but there are the trails.

The only sure way appears to wait up for them, normally can catch them about 01.30, flush them or throw them and then no probs until the next time.

    Still drives me nuts though!

& to add my 2p the land around Bourley Road is now covered in gorse which, I understand, is not a natural UK plant/shrub/green spikey thing but came from NZ so it has not gone back to Olde World heathland anyway. Added to which the ranger there says it burns really well so the local herberts deliberately start fires to see it go up… hurrumph

Divorce, figured nobody would want to go out with a fat body and needed something to do rather than going home to an empty house. I could have tried running but figured it would be better on the joints to ride.

Back married now, back to marriage weight 🙂 but still riding and not as wobbly as I was first time round

    Richard,

I enjoyed reading your blog. I did tell this guy that I was reading Kok and Tvatt and told him about that too as it seemed to be the opposite.

The down side of a kindle is I dont want to read it in the bath, I am not worried that if I drop it I will die a horrible death due to the electricery in it but do wonder how long it will keep working with lots of water vapour getting into it ….

So next most comfortable place is bed

Possibly about kidney beans – they are poisonous when uncooked, so why do we eat them & who worked out we needed to boil them for at least 10 mins?

My theory goes that Stigs brother ate them and died.
Stig coveted his Grandma’s cave because it had running water so he decided to kill her. Not wanting anybody knowing he did it, he decided to poison her & added kidney beans to her stew.
As we all know old ladies boil their veggies far (far) too much so she started her stew boiling and went off to watch the stonage equivalent of Corry & came back to her delicious stew… Stig didnt get the cave but he did discover a classic foodstuff.

As I see it there can be no other reason why we eat them.

Oddly my sex life hasn’t improved either infact its possibly got worse as she laughs at me in bed more since getting it – something to do with the head torch while reading it in the early hours I think

I went to Duns last year, I read Jim Clarks autobiography as a teenager and been a fanboy ever since. The “museum” is more of a private collection of his cups etc, very pleased I went but there isn’t much there and its a 15 min visit really.

Mind you there is a pic of Ayrton Senna signing the visitors book and my 8 year old was made up standing in the same spot as Senna while paying homage to Jom Clark (actually so was I 🙂 )

The program is recorded and I hope to watch it tonight

19 months appart for us… basically once the baby is born you look after Lilgrips #1 and Mrsgrips looks after babygrips.

Once they are a couple of years older its brilliant then entertain each other 🙂 Hard work for now though.

Is this a Catch 22 thing, if you are unpopular enough to go you should stay?

For my 10p I think you should stay – always seemed resonable enough to me
