I use the Numatic Hepa-flo bags available on Amazon I believe. They’re resistant to tearing when being removed full of brick dust etc.
As the vacuum is designed to use a bag, I think it best to do so. The disc filter is there as a back up to protect the motor should the bag fail. Paper ones do have a tendency to do so, particularly if you get a bit of liquid or damp waste into it.

It doesnt matter if its solvent weld, push fit or compression. There is no reason it should need any kind if selant smeared anywhere, especially where it’s visible. If this is the case, the job is flawed and any resonble tradesman would be prepared to remove his faulty work and complete it properly using only the materials intended for a new installation.

Completely different movies. I think acting was different back then. Actors tended to be more dramatic and over acting was the norm. Modern actors try to deliver dialog in a more realistic fashion. Wayne was a great actor for his time.

Pretty much all theory and someone else’s at that. As yet, apart from yourself of course, no one has been able to actually communicate with a dog on a one to one so we don’t know what they think. Take a look at elephant and killer whales just as an example. They are supposedly trained and conditioned, docile and compliant. Then suddenly, for no apparent reason, turn on their handlers, sometimes maiming or even killing.

If it’s already built, it might be difficult to fit a rad unless you’re happy with the pipe work on the surface. I’d put electric under floor heating. Very easy and not as expensive as you might think.

It very much appears there is insufficient pitch on the roof and the tile bonds are inadequate. I would remove the whole lot, ply sheet and felt. The plan you have for lead is far more complicated that you think. Poorly installed lead will fail very quickly. Particularly if the roof gets a lot of sun.
There is a code of practice for the installation of lead sheet which is written by the manufacturers and strictly adhered to by LCA members. There’s a wealth of easily available information about building roofs and slating, it’s hard to imagine any of that’s been put to use here.
I know this is harsh but it’s just another DIY bodge as far as I can see.
Also the diagrams above are useless without measurements as there are minimum up stand and lap requirements you won’t be able to achieve unless you build up the top of the wall. All this is moot though, because it would be a waste of money to put lead on what you’ve got and trying to form welted joints over capping stones without lead dressing tools will will extremely difficult.
