It’s more likely they would just tail your vehicle, note your security measures and hit you when you least expect it. Be paranoid at all times. Our bikes are our first loves. Pay attention to whoever might be giving it coveting glances and see em off like they’re after your girlfriend.

Oh no wonder they hated that. I could have told you it’s no good for party’s.

Hi, I’m a plumber and bathroom/kitchen fitter. I specialise in bathrooms. There are many variables which can have a marked effect on pricing. What you have described sounds about right for an average bathroom. It may be a little lean. Don’t forget, you can pay a lot for a load of you know what. I’ve come across many fitters who claim to have been in the business for years and years and have been doing rubbish work for as long.
You nearly always get what you pay for. Ask for references and be sure to follow them up.
Incidentally, I only work on recommendation. I do no advertising at all and rely totally on word of mouth. That’s not because I’m cheap, it’s because I’m trusted. A large portion of my income is thanks to other fitters who have done poor work that needs to be remedied.
You need someone who has a good track record.
Words of advice for would be bathroom buyers. Never let a “mate” do you a deal!
All in all, you may be ok. Make sure to get a written quote with a lot of detail. Bathrooms take time and a fitter who has put in a low bid to get the work and later encounters problems will use up any wiggle room you leave open.

People who begin a sentence or start to answer a question with. “So”

    That isn’t a sentence.

I wasn’t complaining about sentence structue, merely a personal view of the use of the word “so” as a prefix. I’m not claiming I can write any better myself. Get over yourself.

There’s no need for a bypass on a one pipe system. As there are no TRV’s on the rads, circulation can’t easily be halted and only an idiot would put a bypass where it’s inaccessible in any case. Should it become inoperable at a later date, the whole place would need ripping apart in order to find it. Unless of course the bloke who put it in was around to tell you where it was. Unlikely!

Have you considered any of the above off road tyres and maybe trying harder on the tarmac. Peddle harder – go faster – get fitter.

If you’ve ever been in an old school or public building, you’ve probably seen a single pipe system without realizing it.

As the diagram shows. You can still use your heating with either type of pipe system. But you already know that cus you’re nice and toasty. 🙂 Incidentally, the item you refer to as the “rack” for mounting the rad to the wall? There should be at least 2, sometimes more on very long rads. They are simply called “radiator brackets.” I’d hate for your plumber to sneer should you call them racks in his presence.
Oh, and the item listed as “pressure relief valve” on the top diagram is incorrectly labelled. It is in fact a bypass. The pressure relief valve would be on the boiler and only if the system was pressurized as apposed to gravity fed.

deadkenny and wrecker got it right. It’s about desire. There isn’t a trail Center in England you need 150mm of travel. If you’re going up to Jacobs ladder every day you could possibly use a bit.

Maybe you should find the position which best suites your knee and adjusting your cleat to that.
Eggbeaters have varying degrees of release. 15 or 20deg depending on which way round you fit the cleats and hold with softer lateral tension than spd. Meaning less twisting strength required to unclip. This might put less strain on your knee, but you have less adjustment with eggbeater cleat position.
    Trial and error.

I also ordered a Cannondale from Formby Cycles before Christmas. It was listed on the web site as in stock. It arrived finally in the beginning of Feb. When it came it also was damaged. Derailleur hanger was bent. Top cap on lefty was scratched, the seat post anodizing was rubbed off and the brakes were out of adjustment and needed bleeding. After much reluctance they finally agreed to compensate me with a replacement seat post (Raliegh £11.00 on Wiggle), a water bottle, two sachets of powdered drink and a flyer for something or other. Today I tried to use the seat post and found it doesn’t have enough adjustment to put the seat in a proper riding position. Apparently it’s made for a bike with a vertical seat tube??
So yes, I’ve had issues with Formby Cycles and they won’t be getting my recommendation or custom in future.

Quick update since I started this. I have still not received my Flash Alloy 2. Spoke to the shop yesterday and, although they are very busy. (OK)So what? As bike is apparently in stock now they reluctantly agreed to make a delivery this coming Tuesday. Nice of them to let me know it was here as promised!
Just curious. Has anyone else ordered one, or still waiting for delivery??
I pointed out that I’d been patient enough having been promised delivery on December 5th or 6th originally and they could get busy sorting me out first.
They didn’t offer an apology or seem all that bothered I had been let down. Although polite, (when I’ve called them)they’ve remained totally non proactive and I’ve have to say, from a customer satisfaction point of view. I’m not Impressed.
So. Here’s the name and shame section. Formby Cycles Merseyside.
If you don’t mind doing all the work. These are your guys.

A sanderson breath as aforementioned would not meet your specification

Why? It’s lighter and probably more compliant than a 456.

Obviously didn’t read my post! Besides comparing these two bikes when the guy’s asking for advice on a steel hardtail is just plain silly.

A sanderson breath as aforementioned would not meet your specification. I’d compare it to a karate monkey which is made from recycled wrought iron fencing. There’s a myriad of choices only you can decipher. So… get to the shops and have a look at what takes your fancy. Forget on*one or any other lump of cheap pig iron. You’ll have to spend a little more to get a little more.. Niner? Gunnar… etc etc

philconsequence ….its illegal to change gear uphill where you live (lol)…only fools change gear uphill (snap)(chain)

Yeah. If you have no idea how to change gear properly! A tiny let off to take the tension off the chain for just enough time to shift then back on the power. Sure, if you just keep mashing away and try to do it, you’ll def break something.

I can’t speak for anyone else, but I wouldn’t want it. I recommend you take it to the tat yard with a bag of cans and you’ll maybe get a couple of quid. A dented alloy frame is a bit of a liability. If you rode it hard it could possible fold at an inopportune moment and that might prove very painful.
