I gotta be honest. When I saw the title, I thought it was the start of a “coming out” thread. Very disappointed.

Tbh that sounds like a good idea. When the hole is straight and about 17-18mm diameter, use a proper outside tap tube. I don’t know what they’re called as I always refer to it as a pea shooter The lads in the suppliers know what I mean. It’s basically a brass flange with a female thread to accept the tap with a length of copper braised on the other side. Hence looks like a pea shooter. You push that through the hole from the outside and fix. Then make connections on the inside with end feed, compression or push fit. Whatever takes your fancy.
Get a tap with a check valve to comply with relevant by laws etc. No need need for a separate double check valve. Also an isolator, just in case you need to turn off in the very cold cold weather or to change the washer.

Lol. I don’t think we are quite there yet grum. Funny ol’ world innit! All in the perception I suppose.
Edit: You sound concerned about edl and the like ernie. And so you should, but to label me in in that context? Yes that is ‘snide’ and frankly, offensive.

Concerned about stupid people? Yes. Religious preferences, no.
You sound more concerned tbh. I was merely forming a hypothesis for debate.
Hope you’ve enjoyed being able to make your snide remark though. Well done!

Perhaps he’s trying to rally some form of army in an attemp to have a few people that will put some backbone into defending what will be left of this country after Muslims have become the only people allowed to openly show their faith in schools, places of business and other public places.
After all, now all traces of Christian based influence have been removed from most of those areas and Islamic based practices are introduced in places like Birmingham while the population balance tips. We need some sort of plan. Obviously politics, the big society and integration aren’t working.

    Chechnya was never a country.

You’re wasting your time mate. You can’t reason with these non religious radicals. 😆

What you’re describing is a bodge. Why not just fit what you had before if you can’t be arsed to make a straight hole through the wall to do it properly.
Your taking about wasting time to faf around and then end up with much the same as you had before. Something that’ll most likely leak!

That’s base for wannabe jaz groupies. Personally I think it’s shizzle. But hey, if you like it, that’s ok. You shared it cus you did and thanks for that.
If you want some real bass playing though. You need to look up Mark King. He’s plays some bass that you can understand and enjoy.

If you’re knackered before you’re done with your run, slow down a bit. It has nothing to do with how fast you’re going and everything to do with your output. Surely you can judge how you’re feeling and compare that to how far you have left in your route?
The more you run, the easier it’ll get to guage your effort.
I wouldn’t concern myself with speed. Particularly if I was running alone. If you plan on joining an organised group, start with the intermediates and work to advance. You must be relatively fit because 10mph for 40 mins even on a treadmill isn’t to bad.

You don’t have to believe in a god to be an arse hole. Proof plenty right here in this thread. I’m not excluding myself from that definition incidentally.
There’s always a war waiting to happen where religion is concerned. If we were all face to face having this discussion,, the fists would already be flying.
Junkyard should get a lamping just for the mere mention of Hitler on the first page. 😆
I choose to accept a Christian God. It’s my choice. I have no desire to condemn anyone else’s belief and the nature of faith is that you will have doubt. That’s why it’s called faith! It’s a belief based on no physical proof.
It doesn’t mean I think any non believer is condemned to damnation because although most people here will think I’m stupid and gullible, I can still actually formulate my own ideas as well. It doesn’t mean I I feel threatened by other faiths.
Extremism exists in every facet of society in one form or another. It’s not limited to religion.

If you don’t need it to be left on. Turn it off. Including the shower switch. It’s not just about your own consumption, it’s about the cumulative usage of millions of people.
All those LEDs on shower pull cords will add up so why contribute?
On another subject. I can’t understand why traffic lights aren’t being upgraded so that they don’t keep vehicles idling unecessarily. Adding up all that wasted fuel and resulting pollution is mind boggling.

Actually if you think carefully they must have a reason to insist on their male staff wearing tie.

There’s no reason I can think of why you should ever HAVE to wear a tie for any situation other than to satisfy someone else’s antiquated upyourarseness.
Dress codes are for the military. For everyone else, it’s just some weird tradition or trumped up pier pressure. Having said that. I’d wear one at a funeral out of respect, so I guess I’m just talking out of my backside.

Do you have a mortgage, credit cards, car payment, wife, kids? If you answer yes to any of these, you will be and probably should be a bit scared. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take risks. It just means you will have to make sure that if you do, you have a contingency plan.
I recommend a complete shake up up at least every ten years. Mind you, at 53 and not much materialistically to show for it, some might question my logic.
But, **** me, I’ve seen and done some great things. Personally, I’ve got no regrets for being a bit of a nomad and changing jobs as often as I feel I needed to has given me a broad perspective. Now self employed I feel I’m most comfortable with where I’m at.
In short. If you aren’t happy. Do something new. Challenge yourself.

I get this a lot. Turns out I have a congenital heart defect. Dirty blood going between the chambers or some bollocks. Also, you notice the fitter you get the less you get them. Less strain I guess?
If it’s persistent you might consider getting checked out.

Would you like a pregnancy test done on it too?

Are you inferring that if I were a female it would somehow explain something to you. Or you just making a pass at me?

    Jesus.

I seriously despair at the way coffee drinking has become something that anyone is interested in. I see people ‘unable to function without my coffee in the morning’ and would like them to go away.

It’s a hot drink with caffeine in, have one and piss off.
I’ll send a bottle of my fresh piss over with a dash of caffeine. You can knock yourself out.

Why ruin coffee by putting milk in it.? Milk is for a mug of tea not for coffee.

    At least that’s funny. 🙂

Wait a f****g minute Craigxxl. Are you suggesting that I instruct the barista on how a cappuccino should be made? I don’t have a special way I like it. I LIKE a cappuccino.
Either way, I seriously doubt she would remember me and certainly not enough to think. Oh look! Here’s that lovely gentleman who likes to have the drink he asked for made a special way. Let me get right on that.
If in your imagined version of the tone I used in our conversation, I was rude or condescending. Then you have a negative imagination (also noted in your sick version of possible retaliation for a pretty minor thing)
Usually, I’m only rude or condescending to trolls who enjoy the opportunity ridicule someone who posts a question which asks a legitimate question and opens a discussion for reasoned opinions.
I see Mr Smith also likes to make unnecessary comments designed to insult. It shows a lack of intelligence.
Edit: sorry I meant rusty spanners comment to Mr Smith.

Andyrm. Do you consistently get crap service and put up with it? I asked twice politely. At want point do you think it reasonable to expect to get the product you asked for or should I MTFU and drink black coffee like all the NON coffee snobs here? Why should the price you pay for something dictate whether it’s actually what you get in return?
I’ll take your insult on the chin though because you are entitled to your opinion even it is unreasonable and stupid.
No offence mate of course.. 😆

The clue is in the word ‘snob’.
When did it become something to be proud of?

Bit of a leap ain’t it sponnah. Interesting how you read that into my statement. Being proud of it I mean.

So you’re in the trade (and obviously would be against eBay).
Who would you suggest a retail customer compare prices to, that would be smart? I’ll happily use them.

DezB There are many independent plumbers merchants that supply to trade and to regular Joes. It’s a bit annoying to some plumbers that there are ones out there who will sell supplies to you for the same price they will sell to us (plumbers)
Personally, I don’t mind if a customer wants to do the leg work themselves.
So, although I wouldn’t recommend one in particular, I would certainly advise price comparing and haggling.
Also, go for known brands such as Bristan, Grohe, Armitage Shanks etc etc. These products carry worthwhile warranties. There’s an awful lot of tat being sold out of places like B&Q. In fact some shower manufacturers (for example) make a range of products specifically for large outlets like the afore mentioned and they are of extremely poor quality.

eBay for taps, waste units etc, you’ll save £100s.
eg. Saved £400 buying a complete shower from eBay compared to B&Q (B&Q sale prices too).
Last week bought a basin waste unit (swivel plug thing), B&Q: £24.99, eBay: £8.95
And don’t listen to the “lower quality” folk – choose a reputable seller with good feedback and you’ll find quality stuff at decent prices.

Using B&Q as a benchmark for comparing prices is frankly not to smart. However, as I said to a customer who wasted 4 hours of my time browsing catalogs and after buying his suite elsewhere, had the audacity to ask me if he’d got a good deal. “Do you think you got a good deal?”
