i have a revelate tangle bag. great bit of kit if a little pricey and may be too big. i fit in all of your stuff plus motane velo jacket/gilet, 2 magicshine batteries plus some food in mine! bare in mind clashes with bottles (if you run them) with the long under top tube design. i have to use 2 small bottles that fit under the bag in the down/seat tube bottle mout positions

you need a dmr chaintug hanger

    link

or a santa cruz chameleon hanger

i’ve used both and both work fine but the dmr one will fall off when you don’t have a wheel on/is a littler trickier to work with when taking wheel out etc

i spent 2 weeks over last winter in malaga area. bone dry trails but uplifts are expensive (£40 per day+), would be best if you plan to ride uphill as well as down to keep the costs down and theres a few good guide books about to help out with where to go – its not exactly full of trailcentres! NZ would be awesome and my bet if you had the cash – can get a season pass for the gondola at QT but as others have said it ain’t massive/of whistler proportions (yet) so best using the bike shuttles around there and rotorua too if you travel around a bit. as for accomodation vans/cars seem to hold their value out there, you could buy a beaten up van, sleep in the back on a mattress for 3month and sell it for what you paid for it (my mates did this!)

if you are washing at 30/40 maybe could try a higher temp wash. sometimes my bike kit comes out smelling like wet dogs if i’ve accidentally left it at 30deg (and a few days still in the machine after the wash  )

Indeed. Just searched for “S-Works” in my town and someone has titled their ride “Ride home on new S-Works”. No privacy settings, it takes me straight to their front door. The ride was only posted a week a ago, so I might nip round and get it later

i’ve just done the same thing and got a scary result too 8O although one guy has privacy settings on, his short ‘s-works test ride’ starts in one direction along his road and returns from the other direction. mr scallywag just needs to measure halfway along the gap to pinpoint a few houses to take a closer at…

lots of posts like that on a cycle path near me – proper slalom to get through them! unfortunately trafficky type engineering CAD monkeys will just plop them wherever on a plan without any consideration of the people who use them, not helped by site fitters on site who stick em wherever the plan says without hesitation/thought of questioning it

if its a superstar cog why does it have fouriers logo on it? is it a different version ie: same factory, like the wah wah/nukeproof/superstar pedals? superstar website pic below. either way thats still poor performance and needs to go back for a replacement/refund/whatever

glad your bike shop’s doing well whatever wheel size you’re selling

suppose the forecasted mass exodus of 26inch riders to 650b and 29’ers will mean bike shops selling more full bikes and hence keeping a more buoyant bike business for the foreseeable future

i used to crash all the time riding downhill but over the years it has definitely decreased in regularity from literally 5-6 times in a day of DH to maybe a proper off once in every 10 rides or so with a few little stumbles in the middle. now i tend to ride more xc/trails/all mountain style so this is likely to be part of it, but also i feel like i know my limits better now, riding to enjoy the trail as opposed to my previous bull-headed/trying to race every last mm of track attitude (although this comes out every now and again when needed ;) ). last big spill was from a tree sapling that caught my handlebar on the inside of a fast sweeping turn and pinged me over the bars at 20mph+ into a tree. luckily nothing more than a banged up knee/minor cuts and bruises but that put a bit of a dampener on my riding for a few weeks!

yeah it would need something to stop rotation otherwise it could end up spinning on the up/down stroke. i fitted some of those air ram things to my van and from memory they didnt rotate on themselves, so some way of fixing into the seat tube/post could do it :)

i may have not read his instructions properly but how does he stop it rotating in the seat tube? or does it need eyeing up straight every drop/up?
