Once we get the lift network in serving innerleithen, caberston and cademuir with the cablecar down to thornielee, it’ll be all uplifts for us.

Inners yes… but lets hope no-one ever considers doing the others.. :-)

26 is obsolete… Get with the programme :-)

Magic marys are the tyre to have.. You can still get them for little wheelers ….

i understand how the proper version works… cant see the ghetto version working that way..

If you deflate the inner to inflate the outer.. when you reinflate the inner it will knock out the pressure readings in the outer….

it seems like a lot more than a faff.. :-)

Stupid question but.. how are you planning on getting the air out of the part with the trainer tyre so that it inflates the tubeless part?

The only way i can see it working is if you puncture the tyre but then if you blow up the tube in the trainer tyre, it will seal the hole so the air cant get through….

Doesnt matter what UK law sates. The EU directive trumps it. Most companies try it on but if you are persistent they do back down. Threaten legal action to shorten the process.

UK Sales of Goods Act trumps EU rules… Companies are under no obligation to accept the EU ruling as it hasn’t been adopted into UK law

    http://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/bills/article-1677034/Two-year-warranty-EU-law.html

You may manage to get your refund on the basis of the EU directive, however, shops are within their rights to use the Sale of Goods Act as the definitive guideline instead.

    They are awful…

I have ordered from them 2 or 3 times and there has always been an issue…

You should phone them and chase it up.. They have probably forgotten to send it out..

I have also changed the rear wheel from a 135 QR Axle to a 12×142 axle. Would this make a big difference?

Yes.. you will need to reset your limit screws.

Also sounds like your chain is too short

before you go splashing out money on shoes and pedals…..

and assuming you are running shimano spd’s..

Get yourself a set of Shimoan SH-56 cleats (£5ish on ebay)

These are multi-release and are easier to get disengaged than the standard SH-51’s.
If you have the tension set right, you can get your foot off the pedal just as fast as you can coming off flats.

I have lake 303’s and they are brilliant in cold weather. They are expensive but they keep your feet warm and dry in the worst of conditions.. Cant rate them highly enough

i prefer more on the bars and less on the helmet…. expecially in the rain… too much light, from a helmet mount, reflects off the raindrops and its distracting

Im using some EBC organics at the moment and they dont squeal at all on my T1S’s

I only ever found the formula sintered pads to squeal when they were cold and wet, or even damp from washing the bike a few days previous.. The best solution was to drag the brakes slightly on the flat so that they got some heat into them. This generally cured the squealing. Once they had some heat in them they worked fine all day.

A quick look at the spec sheet for Magnum force shows that it contains: SODIUM HYDROXIDE

This is pretty good at attacking special finishes as well as untreated metals….

    Word of warning…..

A lot of TFR’s contain an acid which is good at attacking specialised coatings like kashima and anodisation.

the mount i used is this:

    http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GoPro-style-ridecam-Adapter-Mount-/141430382842?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item20ede860fa

If someone was to make a similar mount with the 2 prongs rather than 3 it would be much simpler. I just had to find a longer screw to hold it all together. It would probably have been easier to just remove the third prong that has the treaded section so that it worked with a standard length bolt…

Piesoup.. The only issue with that mount is that if your gopro mount is to the rear of the helmet you may not have enough downward angle to get the beam where it needs to be. If it sat slightly higher you would have more option..

Bikeray iv on the bars.. 1800 lumens. Runs for 3 hrs+ on full with the 6 cell battery..

Cheap chinese solarstorm x2 on your helmet.. advertised as 3000-5000 lumens but its probably closer to 1200-1500. It will run for 2+ hours on full with the 4 cell battery. I’ve used mine on medium and it lasts for 3hrs+

This is how mine is mounted at the moment.. I have a mount coming that is very similar to the lupine one so i will give that a try. The lupine one would probably work fine with the solarstorm x2.. it looks about the right size..

Piesoup.. the dimensions of the flat part of the solarstorm are 41.71mm x 20.41mm. The screwhole is centered 13.10mm in from one edge along the 41.71mm axis. This is to the rear of the light. The twin prong gopro mount would fit in front of that
