looks pretty good the path from the fire road up towards the old water tank is going to turn to mush though.. The rest should hold up ok..

nomad washers are rechargable so you can take them anywhere.. The pressure is perfect for bikes and 1 fill can usually do 1-2 bikes.

make your own, from ebay get some pelleted paraffin wax (without stearin) and graphite powder. Think the ratio I used was 25% graphite powder. Don’t do it in the kitchen ever under any circumstances ever!

    Grounds for divorce? :-)

For Caberston full face certainly isn’t a bad idea, but the climbs are horrible so a transition lid would also be needed

I dont mind the climbs at Caberston.. Walkerburn is a different story though

The trails are starting to dy out now so they are beginning to run pretty well.. Hopefully there wont be too much rain in the next few weeks so they can continue to recover..

The rumours are flying around, as legend says… I dont think anyone will know for sure until they are actually announced.

if you arent planning on using it again… just use your chain link extractor tool to knock the pins out on the power link.. (if you dont have a powerlink removal tool)

Had these for a while and they are really good.. The foam+plastic protection part comes out so that you can stick the rest of the pads in the washing machine..

I thought I’d check back in after another 1,000 posts on here and do my bit to get it to 4,000.

Re: Assets, instead of thinking of things which somehow Scotland owns and has “paid for” perhaps think of Scotland as leasing everything, when you stop making the lease payments (ie tax to HMRC) the asset goes back to it’s owner (the UK). On a related point the UK debt is actually what has paid for a lot of things, so if Scotland doesn’t take debt it won’t get any assets.

Thats a great idea…. Likewise the money gained from Scottish Oil revenues shouldn’t be looked at as a UK resource… The money from them should be treated as a loan which should be repaid if independence is gained..

To be fair ernie, an independent Scotland also won’t have the pound.

Which pound? The Egyptian Pound, The Lebanese Pound, The Syrian Pound how about the Sudanese Pound….

Good chance there will be a Scottish Pound to add to that list as well..

If you Camp at Glentress (they have wigwams etc) You have lots of options in that area..

    Glentress
    Innerleithen
    Cademuir
    Caberston
    Thornielee
    Caddonfoot
    Gypsy Glen

That area has a little bit of everything.. Do some searches on youtube and you will see what stuff they can offer.

I have one of these and prefer to use it in the hotter weather.. I can fit a multi tool, spare tube, puncture kit, phone, pump, keys and a snack in it without too much agro.. It fits snuggly around the waist and doenst seem to get in the way at all.. The benefit is that your back doesnt get as sodden as it does when you wear a backpac..
