I do, and I have to say they make a very big difference!

I don’t actually need glasses for reading yet – I’m actually slightly shortsighted, but the screen is in a grey area where no glasses is a bit fuzzy and with glasses is too strong.

See the optician. If you work with screens there is a good chance your employer will pay for them as they’re specific to screen use.

I expect as age advances I’ll end up needing a reading pair as well!

I have it every year too. Not usually any side effects but this year felt pretty rough for a couple of days. Of course I could have just happened to pick up a cold at the same time. Either way still well worth it to avoid a proper dose.

Ah this thread fell at just the right time, was just pondering this question myself.

And Schwalbe Duranos are 18.99 on Chainreaction at the moment so that’s a done deal! 🙂

I *think* Northwind is saying that you thread the wheel axle into the hanger so that you you now have another wheel hanging off the bike and then you can use it as a lever to bend the hanger until the two wheels are parallel…

Is that right? I’m quite intrigued!

Oh yeah I think those are indeed boost 110mm. Best measure to be sure before you part with any cash though! 🙂

    Which version do you have?

I have one of the first run grey/orange bikes and the fork is a standard 100mm QR – I can swap my 29er front wheel in no problem.

Ukuleles sound ace when played by someone who knows what they’re doing. GavinT has some good stuff on YouTube

That’s very kind Simon – I’ve got some shit stuff on there too but I’m quite pleased with this one!

It used to be hard to learn guitar – you either shelled out for lessons and hoped the teacher was good or bought those utterly useless tab books.

It’s so easy now with all the tutorials on youtube, I’ve been playing for over thirty years but I’ve probably learnt more in the last 5 of those.

Just look up a song you fancy playing and find a tutorial that sounds about right.

I thought she had two bottles – nitric acid and hydrochloric acid? Which apparently can dissolve gold when mixed. Whether or not you can get both of these in a Pharmacy or not though I’ve no idea.

The new 2ds xl is probably the best option. Large screen, plays the same games, just no 3d option. But the 3d gets old very quickly and you soon switch it off anyway.

Sure, Lezyne ones *can* unscrew your valve core if it’s not done up properly. But other designs can bend your valve core if you’re clumsy/tired or blow off the valve when they become worn.
For my money I prefer to risk the Lezyne and – yes – do the valve cores up properly.

Well whatever bread I happen to have. Generally some kind of wholemeal thing. Of course this isn’t an experiment I repeat as I like butter, but when forced to experiment due to a lack of butter that was my experience. Maybe I have a more sensitive mouth?

Is the car a particular pride and joy?

I don’t think I’d bother doing anything about a neat little dent like that.
But then I don’t really care about cars.

    Philips oneblade…

Not quite a clipper, not quite a shaver.

Has the advantage that it can go *anywhere* without cutting or nipping anything.

is it possible that the flange (snigger) on the hub isn’t quite true and when the bolts are done up it bends the disk? Seems a long shot but…

I think if you’re buying/building up a new bike then 1x makes a lot of sense. But the idea that you should scrap a perfectly good drivechain is obviously silly. I took one of my old bikes out with its positively prehistoric 3*8 setup at the weekend and could find anything not to like about it. 🙂

Mahalo do some good starter ukes. But I always preferred the Makala MK series:
    MK-S Soprano
    MK-C Concert etc

Nice simple ukes with a plain finish.

Makala Dolphins are fun if you like bright colours. Sound pretty decent too.

I’ve had a similar experience with music when a younger guy in the office (20s) claimed to have never heard of The Smiths or New Order.

I don’t really buy the ‘music of your generation’ argument as it’s a pretty short timeline anyway. Pop music stems (arguably) from around the 50s onwards so it’s pretty easy to have at least an overview of all the main players.

Movies have a somewhat (but not so much) longer history so to my mind the same applies. Of course being younger they’ll have had less time to see all the greats but I’m always surprised that they’ve not at least HEARD of them.

    Done good / done bad.

Using an adjective instead of an adverb. Very common colloquially but I dislike it intensely.
You see it all the time in statements like “Eat healthy” or “Shop local”.

What I did with optilabs was have them send me a selection of frames to try. One was an obvious winner for me so ordered that and returned the samples.

I bought some photochromic prescription riding glasses from Optilabs. About £160 IIRC. I love them, vision is great and don’t need to fiddle about with contact lenses.

    These ones, in white.

I imagine that there are other decent suppliers.

M&S if you’re of the chunky build. In my experience their stuff is good quality but the fit is on the short/wide side. Even their ‘slim fit’ stuff.

I like Next chinos for cut and quality. Not expensive either. I’m wearing some now. Very nice
