Hello PQ – I remember you!

I’ve also got an old Tinbred. Still going strong and looks surprisingly tidy. Odd that they painted them but that paint is really tough!

    I’d love a Tempest.

I bought prescription riding glasses from Optilabs a couple of years ago.
Been absolutely brilliant – photochromic lenses great for sunny days or night rides, very comfortable. Love not having to think about what eyewear to use.
I went with “Rascal” frame. Cost £160 back then.

I never had a lot of luck with rim strips. Although the old Eclipse system worked well enough. Most successful for me has been gorilla tape with enough wraps to increase the diameter of the rim bed. You’re trying to get something close to the flat profile of a real tubeless rim that way when the tyre goes on it is *tight* making it much easier to inflate.
If the tyre goes on easily it will be a pig to get seated.

It’s always possible but can be faffy. I just rebuild my 26″ wheels that were on Mavic 717s onto these rims:

Near as dammit same ERD so straight swap and work far better.

Bit up and down but the CPR scene was gold!

As for him looking too young – I just assume he’s meant to be wearing daytime TV levels of slap. 🙂

Well, on a flat earther’s map “South” means towards the edge and “North” means towards the centre. East or West would just send you in anticlockwise/clockwise circles (or widdershins/turnwise if you prefer) 🙂

The one blade… I have one. It’s not great with the guard but quite good ‘bare’ for edging. You can get almost razor close but without the risk of cutting/irritation. So good for close to the mouth or other ‘intimate’ areas.

Not really worth the money though IMO.

Got to agree with the Wahl recommendations. I’ve had (and still have ) a number of different clippers obtained at different times of my life but the standard Wahl hair clippers always get used as they just work. Probably need something else if you want to do some poncy shaping but to just knock it all down to a one tidy length the Wahl wins every time.

Leave a little bit of inner inside when you snip it – helps keep it from deforming. Just don’t go chopping your new inner too short, use the spare at the end or an old cable.

I find a dart makes an excellent poking tool to reshape the end if it does get a bit crushed. I keep an old one in the toolbox for just that purpose. Well, that and general poking duties.

“It provides habitat for dozens of birds, bees and other insects”

Yes – when I ripped mine off my garage walls and roof I found a fox living under it.

Felt a bit guilty but it was too late by then.

I would definitely kill it. It’s pretty but does loads of damage especially once it reaches the roof.

Saw straight across at the bottom and pour on whatever you can to kill it. I ended up using the area as a toxic waste dump for any nasty chemicals I had used – bleach, descaler, anti-freeze, whatever. Eventually it died.

Just ripping the stuff off and disposing of it is a job and a half!

I had one of these a few years back. Yes I had Picolax and yes that was pretty “dramatic” but no big deal. Just needed to stay within sprinting distance of the toilet until sure completely empty.

For the procedure I was offered gas and air and jumped at it as I’ve often wondered what it was like – bit woozy like being slightly drunk/stoned but not a very strong effect.

It was marginally uncomfortable but more because it just felt so odd. Wasn’t painful or anything. Maybe I was just lucky.

Yeah, I have exactly this on my road bike. Irritatingly it’s a Campagnolo wheel with a 22 hole rim which seems to be completely unobtainable. So, new wheel it is.

Yeah I had the Smoke/Dart combo in that colour back in the early nineties. I kind of miss them.

I don’t really like them – tend to always be the wrong way up for whichever shoe you choose. Ok for a shopping/pub bike.

Anyone using a garmin device shouldn’t need to do any manual uploading to Strava.

If you are synching to Garmin Connect you just give permission to that app in Strava and it auto loads. I have mine linked to Strava and Endomondo, I never need to manually load anything.

In Strava you set this up under “My Apps”

Gave in and bought the Trekz Air – I’m well pleased, they sound fantastic and are so comfortable!

Hmm I see that there is also an “Aftershokz Trekz Air”
    Improved sound, lighter, more expensive.
Naturally I now need these. Thanks internet

I find anything with a wire gets snagged sooner or later and yanked out. Probably not an issue if you only run in town.
The round the back of the neck / head types seem the best at staying put and I’m quite interested in trying those Trekz Titaniums mentioned above.
When it’s cold I quite like the “Beanie Beatz” bluetooth hat. Not top quality but very cheap on Groupon (£8.99) and good peripheral hearing.

This has happened to me twice in my whole life. Pretty trippy!

I was lucky in that I only had the visuals, it wasn’t followed up by the killer headache. Was actually pretty cool once I realised I wasn’t about to die or anything.

I get warning cramps in my fingers and toes if I overdo it at all. If I feel it coming on I find that a Nuun tablet often sorts it out for me.

although… good for juicing limes if you’re making margaritas!

Not worth it for juicing fruit. As others will point out it just turns relatively healthy fruit into sugar water.

I quite like to juice vegetables but then that’s partly to get the dry vegetable pulp. I mix it with egg and spices to make veggies patties.

Speedfit works very well indeed on std copper pipe. Just make sure it’s cut cleanly and all burs removed. If it’s old or painted then give the area going into the fitting a good clean up with emery cloth / wire wool. The long strips of emery cloth on a roll are great for this.
I’ve done this in several places with no problems at all.

Edge blade? Like one single blade for neat sideburns etc?
No. But I’ve not found that a problem.
But I tend to use clippers for that sort of thing and shave to finish up.

If you can’t see a group of cyclists approaching you are not fit for the road and need your license reassed

Does that mean “Stuck up your ***”? Twice?

If so I have to agree. 😉

Depends what you want it for. I picked up a Hive 2 from Tescos when the price dropped to £30. I’m really impressed with it. For a small unit it delivers a very full sound. Certainly good enough for bathroom, shed duty.

Oh right – I haven’t come across the 41mm size ones.

This was exactly what I needed to remove an FSA mega exo and fit an XT bb (which was the smaller size)

So there are 3 different 16 notch sizes are there? Gah – stupid things, I’m going back to sq taper.

You just need to ask your optician for a specific screen use prescription.
It will be somewhere in strength between your reading prescription and your distance vision.

We can all give opinions but your optician will know best.
