0 bpm is not good. Everything else is fine. Don’t worry about the numbers.

Not sure of your area but this chap has provided good advice in the past:

Bought mine a piano for her 40th (could have bought a bike for that much!).

That balance bike is amazing. It’s so amazing that it doesn’t seem right that it has a normal saddle!

No and rather annoyingly the CAD software I use (2013 issue) will not work with the new OS so I can’t update. 2 years isn’t very long is it?

I bought a bike as a company though not sole trader. A bike has no personal tax liability unlike a car for instance. I have used it to get to a couple of meetings and I may, just may, have used it for non work activities….

Benpinnick has it absolutely spot on. Elite level riders might notice but most won’t. But if you are told about the change you think you notice it.

A dongle for Trainer Road and some Rapha chamois cream. Christmas is such fun! Useful for this weather though.

I did the same on mine. 51mm offset absolutely fine. The pikes made a huge difference.

Recently bought a Bose solo 15 for use as a TV soundbar thing. It’s fairly low key as just sits under the TV. Has Bluetooth so we can stream iTunes to it. Sounds good I think. It has a great universal remote too.

Once beat my boss up in the loo. I was having a pee – he came in and started getting bolshie. I told him to calm down and he took a swing. So I hit him (in self defence obviously) and pushed him pretty hard through the bog door. On the Monday I took a box in with me to put my stuff in. He came in and apologised for his behaviour. Still can’t believe it. Another boss (different company) tried snogging one of the younger female members of staff. Unbeknown to him she was gay. Much hilarity all round.

I still struggle with skiing. How hard can it be? I’m completely useless. My two boys have long since zoomed past me and the younger one was 6 on our last trip. It’s just embarrassing. I also suffer from sore feet. Tried everything even have my own boots with moulded liner. Maybe I should get another pair. Let’s face it that’s what I’d do with bikes!

I have a 9 yr old XC90 and while it’s a bit of a bus it does do everything necessary. Not as refined as a Disco but just as roomy and a lot cheaper.

One of these in case it gets nasty taking the garbage out (like it does in Surrey): http://youtu.be/Po8eLxzGRHY
    But probably prefer a pen.

There would be less bikers in Peaslake if the shop stopped baking cheese straws.

Spray as advised above. Go to local vet for advice. The eggs can lay dormant for a considerable time hence moving into previously empty house and you get bitten. The eggs are activated by being disturbed and if there is no animal around they go for the humans. I found all this out after a visit to the Royal Veterinary College at Potters Bar with our lab who is allergic to flea bites. Cue lots of immediate itching.

Hmmm BT – I was just having a good morning until I read this and it all came flooding back!
You need to call their complaints centre in Leicester I think. Not sure how to do this as my wife had the pleasure of their wonderful service. Anyway state that you want to make a complaint and you will also be contacting Ofcom. It did the trick for us. I think this is the number: 0330 123 4150. Keep a record of all time spent and demand compensation. This will usually be in the form of a bill free period. Also keep a record of all calls, who you spoke to and ask for a reference number for each call. Good luck.

I have a Lezyne – it’s a good pump but the screw on head drives me potty. I have an old specialized one well over 10 yrs old that feels dreadful but still works well.

We have a 9yr old XC90. I wouldn’t say economical but it’s been reliable and is very safe and seats 7 easily with a decent boot. That age would be well within your budget.

    These are good:
    http://www.asec.co.uk/asec-garage-door-bolt-locking-kit-en-gb/
I would recommend fitting them to a good galvanised steel door rather than a more modern lightweight one.
Someone had the good idea of a gorilla bin full of concrete to fix your bikes to if you can’t fix a floor anchor. If you have a house alarm you may be able to get it extended to the garage?

Gassed a friend once who was actually riding in front of me. Don’t ask me how.

In general agreement. I used to love getting off the train with my folded brompton. It’s a useful battering ram. Just5mins: that happened to a friend of mine. He stood up and shouted ‘will you shut the fu<k up!’ There followed complete silence for the rest of the film. It was a beautiful moment.

When I used to row, my coach used to say: don’t worry about how high your HR is, only worry when it says ‘0’
I think the max HR test is based on sequential increase in output. i.e. bike up hill and increase effort say every 30 seconds (its not going to be a nice experience!). Always I would say go to Doc to get a check up before doing something like this.

I hired a 150mm core drill to do this with a big drill. I would recommend also hiring the drill as it should have a clutch that will slip when the bit gets stuck (it will). I couldn’t believe how physical it was. Pilot hole yes. Also drill from outside to inside as there is a lot of dust. The 150mm bit wasn’t wide enough for the duct, there was a lot, an awful lot of swearing. Managed to bodge it in the end. Didn’t help that I cut through the oven and hob supply…. Add £200 for sparks to rewire this… Not my finest hour.

Three years as above. One you have made a ‘material start’ (foundations will do) it lasts in perpetuity.

If your Local Authority Planning Department have a informal service, go and see them to see what you need to do. If not, there are enough guides to get you through. The submission requirements will vary depending on the circumstances of your property. You can get useful online help from the Planning Portal.

As above, be yourself. I think its important that you interview them too, its a two way thing working for someone. Do you want to work for them? Don’t be desperate. As mentioned above do as much research as possible about the company and people. Ask about training.

Air gap should be min 50mm above the insulation. Cut the boards at a slight angle so the ‘thin’ bit crushes as you slide it in thus as air tight as it can be and should stay in position. Maybe have some wood to slide in over the insulation and twist to push down the insulation. Good time of year to do it – it’s too hot to be stuck up there in the summer!
