Moving to both 15QR and Coil fork. But that’s not really little I guess.

Good news! Order being placed next week. Jerseys, Bibs, Freeride and Tech Tees for about 30 members – look out for them on the trails around end of summer! :D

Competent allrounders is the onyl advice I can give considering the potential weather…

Personally I’ll be running a 2.1 Blue Groove front and a 2.1 highroller rear. That’ll cover all bases for me :)

Just don’t run anything dodgy on roots – even if it’s dry, the course was literally polished last year!

Are Assos shorts really that good?

I’ve started Marathon riding this season and might even move up to 24 hour solos next year. My cheap and cheerful Endura £25 jobs are “ok” but everytime I stand up and then come back down into the saddle I have to do this sort of squirming shimmy type manoeuvre to try and coax the pad back into a place that’s only just definable as comfy.

I wouldn’t mind dropping £100 on something like an Assos Uno if they are actually the revelation the Bike Radar review (bottom) claims… (http://www.wiggle.co.uk/p/cycle/7/Assos_FI_Uno_S5_Bib_Shorts/5360035254/)

That said, I’ve got team kit coming from Carvalho Custom which I’ll want to wear, if any of the LVIS lot are reading, what are the Carvalho bibs like on those longer races?

I find it a good workout myself – keeping 32:18 turning on the flat for 10km certainly gets the old lungs going…

    Afan Sunday.

Penhydd, start W2, ride July, finish W2, something like 84km. Final Bristol Bike Fest training ride :D

Anything longer than 60mm would be a sin surely? :)

How do Peaty’s times stack up when he was on Orange and Santa Cruz then? I suppose you’ll never know whether the SC is actually no faster, or if it is faster but he’s older and slower now.

iPed – it was Priston Mill – we were in the actual watermill (not the barn) and we did the whole day there from Ceremony to Evening Do – amazing day!

Simon, look out for the big cheesy riders banner at the BikeFest – you won’t miss it…

Btw, there’s no jumble this month as it clashes with the Bristol Bike Fest.

I don’t know if you were the on who emailed me (cheesy riders) already but I passed your details onto Mark (Agency_Scum) – he’s the man you need to speak to.

Yeah, I reckon getting a remover is wise.

Anyone picked any up at CwmCarn or Afan?

Bit worrying about that guy picking one up in Bristol!

Well paranoid now what with recent threads and it being on the news.

They look so tiny though – I figured it’d be obvious if you’d picked one up but not so sure now :-/

I’ve always got lycra shorts on so I don’t need to worry about them getting up ‘there’ – but when you do pick one up, do you generally know about it pretty soon?

    I blame the rider

    I survived the CLIC24 on 2.1 high rollers! :-P

I just don’t think trailrakers are worth the penalty on fireroad and stuff either…

clubber: I find they’re fine for rear wheel traction but I find the front deflects really badly… apples and oranges

It’s looking like a dry one but anything can change in two weeks. I rode part of the course last night and it’s not bad considering the rain we’ve had in the last few days.

If it is wet – the amount of wet roots and rocks are a bigger challenge than the actual mud IMO and I always favour a tyre that can cope with that instead – if it’s good in the mud too then bonus.

My mud tyres are Trailrakers and they’re shite on wet roots so they don’t get used.

Caravlho kit is ok, but you can tell why its cheap. KALAS stuff is really good though

Hmmm, the samples I had through were at the very least, Northwave quality…

Clubber, turnaround is 8 weeks at the moment, Charlie says they’re flat out at the moment…

I’m really tempted to post our design but want to wait until we have actual kit… must resist!

You’re probably screwed then – I had a phone around and most are working to 8 weeks or more at the moment.

    I’ve got some 08 32 floats being dropped from 140 to 100 – I wondered this too…

We’re going with Carvalho Custom based on LVIS’s recommendation, not got the kit yet but samples were sent free of charge and looked top notch and service has been brill so far.

You know when you write those long winded posts and then end up deleting the lot because it’s a really pointless debate (Shimano vs SRAM, tube vs tubeless, flats vs SPDS, tyres) that will never be solved…

    Yeah, just did that…

    Overwhelmingly so…

Turtle wax on the cheap from wilko diluted in a sh1t shifter bottle about 10:1 with water. Rinse and then scrub with nice hot soapy water.

Never found proper cleaners much cop, if it’s fresh and still wet it rinses off anyway, if it’s baked on, never found the cleaners to work all that well (and you use a whole bottle trying).

In fact if it’s baked on, it’s usually a partial disassembly job anyway – chain, cassette and rings go in pot of degreaser…

I don’t mind paying, I don’t even mind if it doesn’t go into the trails as long as it stays in the area – I understand the area used to be terrible and if it regenerates the area then great!

I’ll be chuffed if I actually finish. :)

Kudos for remaining so clean! :D

Although to be fair it still looks pretty clean and my first non parade lap would have been around 5pm and it was a total sheet fest by then after the apoco-rain
