but I have no idea at all what their rival to an F100 or a SID is these days (if they even have one), and consequently I’d not consider buying them.

The Corsa Superleggera and it’s quite good. And with 3 years warranty with no servicing stipulations too. Be a shame to see it go under just as they’re turning it around.

Oh can I also chip in with baby led weening as on option too. Ours was on finger foods from 6 months and loved it. Confident self feeder from the off…

    Yeah why the rush?

Ours is naturally down to morning and bed feeds at 13 months

    🙁

Nothing like a bit of orchestrated ‘us’ vs ‘them’ tension to cover up the fact that we’re all being shafted at the end of the day…

Graphic Designer, Web Designer, Brand and Marketing Consultant, general purveyor of new trousers for Emperors. Bit of video work, photography and copywriting thrown in too. Really varied, really enjoy it, pay is quite good.

I appreciate I’m going to end up on the ‘B’ ark, but I can always fall back on my Computer Science degree and maybe solve some of the world’s real problems again…

Anywhere between 20th to 10th in 8-24hr stuff or stage racing in the UK at the moment but only recently, very much a ‘midpacker’ before that.

Nice vid but tighten those cuts up a bit! Staring at empty trails for a second or two far too often!

Couldn’t stand my summer season with long forks, love it at 100mm…

I’d say I’m getting fit and fast… finally managed a top 10 in Bristol Oktoberfest 8hr solo which was only a few minutes shy of being a 7th. I’m doing a charity Wales Coast 2 Coast attempt next year (offroad non-stop: http://wc2c.cyclistno1.co.uk, please sponsor me *cough*) so I need to train pretty hard as it’s going to be a comfortably 24hr+ ride.

That said I’ve got a reasonable base having trained for a 24 solo last year, and did the 3 Day Black Mountains and TransWales before doing Oktoberfest this year.

I can’t train properly though, I’d go mental, I’m not cut out for it, I resent the bike when I try. I know I’ll never win a race but I’m ok with that. For me my training is all about regularity and the fact that I really like riding. As much as I love road biking, you won’t catch me grinding out the miles all winter long sticking to a certain HR zone!

I tend to ride most days. I’m lucky enough that I can do a reasonable MTB commute. 8km of road and 8km of trails, only do the 8km of road going into work, and on pretty all weather trails. So I just tend to go pretty hard to the point where it’s fun still and not total flagellation. Every third or fourth week I’ll probably skive off a bit.

Other than that, it’s all I do!

I’m not sure they’re too bothered about the climbs from what I saw!

I’m glad I have work/family excuses that mean I don’t have to openly admit to being too crap/scared to ride those trails 😉

I know what you mean and I’d feel the same, only it’s my little boy’s second Christmas (he was a new born so not doing much last time) and it’ll be the first time my wife and I have actually stayed at home for Christmas day instead of going to parents etc.

So actually really dam excited this year!

2012 XT with 180mm rotors and xc pads, on my Superfly 100. Bloody love them. Haven’t found them bitey at all, good modulation with stacks of power but really nice feel too.

Only a month old but if they prove to be reliable, a very special set of brakes and enough to ween me off Hope to be honest. Hope feel with Formula beating power.

The pain to risk to success ratio doesn’t look favorable. So for that reason, I’m out.

I find caffeine ones are better for later on in endurance stuff when you’re kind of flagging and you’re past the crazy high early heart rate phase.

About £600-£1000 for 2 vehicles (a Van and a Family car). QUite pleased with that. Don’t think I’ll get my wife cycling to work which would knock another several hundred off…

Shimano Square taper used to last a year. Shimano HTII seems to last a year also. I ride a lot more now.

Few pairs of Fox forks and shocks, 2-3 years old, all fine.

Again, hardly from a lack of riding either.

True, but to do a proper comparison with cycling it would also be the equivalent of having picked up a few road and trials championships while truly dominating XC and DH.

Hey was winning: (with a rough (arguable) comparison to cycle sports)
Course racing and long distance (Road)
    Slalom (XC)
    Wave (DH)
    Freestyle (Trials)
    Speed (Time trial)

Is there anyone out there who can ride a road bike like Contador, XC bike like Absalon, DH like Danny Hart, Trials like Danny Mac, Time Trial like Cancellara and compete on one of these disciplines today and then the other the next.

Yup, that sums up Dunkerbeck better. True master…

Another +1 for Bjorn Dunkerbeck in Windsurfing – proper domination of the sport.

He would be the equivalent of genuinely dominating XC and DH for the best part of two decades.

Pot roasted Beef Brisket, season and brown it in a big heavy iron pan in olive oil. Add onions, garlic and mushrooms and sweat, then a load of root veggies in with it. Add a splash of water, and scrape the brown bits off the bottom of the pan. Top up with water so it’s almost covered, couple of glasses of red wine or stout if you fancy it. Chuck in a bay leaf and a dash of cayenne pepper and bring to the boil. Put the lid on and transfer to the oven (160C). Just put it on in the morning and chuck some roasties in when you need them. Depending on size, a 1kg joint will be done in five hours.

I’m no master chef but Brisket done well is always a winner this time of year.

RE: the bonfire smoke. I’ve watched a firework display from an adjacent field, down wind, on a foggy night. We couldn’t actually see the fireworks and we ended up separated in the field unable to see our own hands at arms length. I can fully believe it may have been a contributory factor. There was no bonfire on that particular night, it was the firework smoke.

Drove on the M5 today just 20 miles northbound from the accident, far too many people still driving like tools for my liking.

I don’t think the people that ‘need’ to learn something from Friday night actually will 🙁

Do SC warranty their tallboy frames if used with a 120mm fork??

Yes, and this was how they were putting their demo bikes out in fact.

    GaryLake

Those commenting on the Tallboy, did you ride it with 120 or 100m forks?

I’ve ridden one with 120mm 15QR taper fork, 50mm stem, 700 bars and a Reverb post – bonkers fun!

can’t you do that with a country? sell off the publicly owned parts (health service, railway etc), which is what all the money was spent on, then use the cash to pay off the debters

What send the bailiffs in you mean?

My boy’s only 12 months and being impatient I’ve gone down the Toddle Bike route. Only £20 but could be a good stop gap – reviews look favorable too.

He can barely touch the ground on it but like I said, he’s only 12 months.

Whenever we need to change his nappy he will have a right paddy and we physically have to hold him down to stop poo being smeared every where.

Sounds like my one year old! 😯
