So having found time to have a flick through … I liked the sound of an interview focussed issue but found the reality a bit disappointing as per Yardleys previous post. There have been some great in depth interviews in roadie mags like Rouleur, Cyclesport et al but we never seem to get the MTB equivalent. There must have been a cracking multi-page opportunity with WTB for instance.

Not read any of the travel stuff yet – I like reading the foreign stuff but it often seems to struggle to rise above "what we did on our holiday" level.

That sounds a bit moany doesn't it – reading it has made me want to clean my bike and get out in the sun, honest!

Another "Well done" for the organisers from me – given the scale of the event, and the fact that it was the first one, I was seriously impressed at how smoothly everything went. And from what I heard in the pub last night there didn't seem to be a whole lot of frantic panic behind the scenes either bar restocking of food stations.

After 24 hours and a long drive home powered by nurofen and red bull, I'm aching more than yesterday, but the bleak moments are fading and I've started wondering if it will be drier next year so I can turn up properly prepared and take a chunk off this year's time, and get back in time to claim beer and bbq food :)

forget the UK, as access laws basically make it impossible to hold a long distance race that doesn’t involve impersonating a hamster.

That’s what I figured until I came across this earlier today:

Depending on whether you consider Southampton/Winchester to be South East, there is a testing role in the list here:

I had one done by this lot last week, and it looks pretty good. Choice was made largely on the basis of having a stock size that suited but their service was very good – checking details of the way I wanted it printed, adjusting colours due to issues with my image etc.

Juan, Are you not going to be popping up on the route everyday providing slices of your spanish omelette? That’s the only reason I entered :)

ive got a a crud catcher on my P7, its been thrashed and not problem, thats the trouble when you read something like that, it will always put doubt in your mind.

    load of b*llox i’d say….

I’ve seen a P7 crashed into a bombhole, the frame was ripped in 2, one of the breaks right through the crud catcher boss.

Yes, that crash would probably have bent something else had those mounts not been a weak point, but I’ll do without them thanks :)

As cbike says, google key clamps and track down a local supplier. They do all sorts of different fittings for mounting stuff between walls or out from walls. I’ve used it to put a bike hanging rail along the wall of my garage.

Sam – where from? I can only see them as OEM builds on Google.

Just what I was going to ask – I was looking around to see if I could find some of those the other day.
