Been using Kmc X9sl for a couple of years, both gold and silver versions and they definetly last longer than Sram chains. (for me anyway!)

Love the tread/grip but have torn two standard folders very easily,
got a couple of the new exo sidewall one’s and for a little bit extra
weight they seem far more substantial, very easy to run tubeless too!
    26″ size versions.

Used both, wouldn’t say one was better than the other!
Both work, both good, Joes def better value for money
    though.

I find the sag set up lines on the seat tube/stays to be spot on,
generally only run the pro pedal at one(mostly off) as it hardly
bobs and rebound 3-4 turns from max(slowest).

No cross brace. To be fair i am 14st on the bike and have never found it
flexy and i have had a couple of hustlers before this so used to a pretty stiff setup!
Going to give Orange a call today and ask about the brace.

I got mine end of April 2010 and had too wait 8 weeks for Orange to
paint a batch in disco black(I spoke to orange at the time about an
alternative colour so know this is true), the shop i bought it from
(wont be back!) also told me that Orange had just changed the frame
and this would be the same as 2011 model(not true!),anyway i have a different linkage on mine and am now wondering if they changed it again
between april and the new one coming out?
I love riding mine but am peed that the new one came out so soon after i got it!i wasn’t deperate and would have waited a few months had i not
been b—–ited by the shop and now seeing yours am wondering if Orange
    changed it again?
Moan over its a great bike none the less!

The 36’s were my least favourite.

Had 150mm 36 vans, 140mm 32 vans and now 120mm floats on mine,
found 150mm wandered when climbing,140mm was pretty good for
everything and the current 120mm make it an xc flying machine!

What happened to your 2010 frames? I got mine in April and love it!
Looking at the 2011 model other than shock/linkage positions it all
    looks very similiar.

Ardent and Advantages come up about the same size wise,
they are not that much wider than 2.35 High Rollers/Minions
but definetly taller so lots more volume.

Ardent is a great back tyre, although I would go for the Exo as they have a much tougher
    sidewall.

I have recently got one of the new joystick mk5’s, its a really great
light pretty much perfect beam for helmet mounting! I also have a “Shed”
made Troute Mini which is superb and the pair were perfect for Relentless at the weekend.
The joystick is way better than the Dx torches and Fenix tk11r2 and ld20 that i also own.

I have pair of Scarpa Quest and they have a sticky sole and the tread pattern very similiar to 5.10’s, also fairly stiff so good to pedal in.

I bought a pair of Scarpa Quest and they are really good, seem great quality
and have a sticky rubber sole thats great on the odd ride with flats.
Merrell dont seem as good as they used to be.

Actually agree with tj they are perfect as a headlight but quite a focused beam for bar mounting(as abright as a maxx2 joystick).Used mine on the helmet at Relentless last year whithout issue.

Ordered 2 last year and had them in a week, at the same time people were waiting ages for dx bastid’s so assume that if they have stock they go out quickly!

Using Squirt at the moment and happy with it, not used it in winter conditions yet though! used R+R extreme for a couple of years before
and never had any issue’s probably go back to it if i get rust using
    Squirt in winter.

Its a better head light, beam is brighter and quite foused compared to the maxx.

I have just got a mk5 and my mate has a maxx2,mk5 is definetly brighter and has a better beam pattern, i’m impressed with mine!

I had a 2010 x9 which wouldn’t drop into the highest gear no matter what i tried,as the mech dropped it was fouling on the low adjustment screw!
Asked on here and a few suggested crap mechanic rather a fault but after returning it to the shop then Fishers i was given a replacement and told there was a manufacturing issue.New one set up perfectly then the three month old rh shifter stopped working!Been using sram gears for six years and build quality is definetly not what it was!
