Ive got one and really like it, had a 170bhp tdi passat estate before it so less pokey than i was used to but a really nice car to drive it handles really well and very comfy! Cheap to run.

Used to have a 170bhp passat estate, and in last years snow it was embarrassing! it would sit in gear with the engine running and the
wheels spinning!!! current v50 is much better.

Mat for reproofing the stealth i use nikwax softshell proofer,
its a spray on so your not going to affect breath-ability as the
    wash in proofer’s can!
Stealth jacket here on its third winter and still great!

Another thumbs up for Ardents here, although i am running
non ust 2.35 exo which have a really substantial sidewall
and weighed 605g, i have also fitted a set to my mates xt
wheels whithout rimstrips and no issues at all!
Used them on everything from trail centres to absolutely
filthy muddy local trails and in the last week snow! so for
me a really good all rounder.

You would be better heading down through the country park out at the miller hill end then onto the cycle walk path up to bingham then cycle paths into town(bingham, behind niddrie the park etc.)

Riding in snow is great! did a couple of hours on sunday morning
in my local woods, snow was about generaly about 6″ deep and up to rotors in some place’s,just got to be ready to shift your weight
about and stay off the brakes as much as possible!
Sunday night and my legs felt like i had been on the bike all day!
Minion/Ardent combo both at about 22psi.

Anybody used sealskins and the chibas, i have sealskins and warm/dry as they are i end up with wet sweaty hands so wondering if this is the case with the chibas or do you stay warm and dry?

Some frame manufacturers dont recomend after market powder coating
because of the baking temps used during curing.
Having had a top tube go on me i wouldn’t ride that again!

    gamo

I dont! normally only stop when the rides finished.

Ive got a mini and think its fantastic, used for weekly nightrides and used it at relentless and absolutely chuffed with it,Its brighter than
Magicshine p7,Hope 4 and Lupine that riding mates use so bright enough for anything i need a light for! The Liberator must be like a mobile lighthouse!!!

There is a service video on the Hope website which shows how to clean strip the bearing seals, try removing the cups give the bb shell a good
clean and refit as well(had one which creaked which was caused by swarf/grit in the bb shell).

I have a young family and manage 2 rides a week these days, used to ride nearly every day which i loved so my answer is a selfish No!
To be honest with 2 young kids im pretty knackered half the time so
getting out a couple of times in a week is still pretty good.

Hope told me to fit as required, so when you fit the top cap you want
it to sit flush to the upper cup but not press and deform.

    gamo

Did it def have one fitted?one of my bikes has 2 and on the other none,
they are thre to make sure the rubber seal doesn’t get pressed against the upper cup and drag/deform.

I switched to sram about 7 years ago and at the time thought it was a big improvement on the xt stuff it replaced, anyway roll forward 6 years and the newer sram x9 stuff just doesn’t last as well!(3 sets of shifters,2 rh and 1 lh and 3 rear mechs all failed in an 11 month period).Back with xt and really happy seems to be lasting well but i would say sram requires les fettling!
