I’ve just done it with my road bike in a bike bag. My experience was that there is very little space to put it, had to just leave it in the corridor. If your worried about how secure it is get a seat near to the luggage racks..
My bike has arrived back in one piece in a relatively thinly padded bag.

I’d just build a light bike with front suspension if i were you, you need more skill to ride big stuff on a rigid.
12kg isn’t that light, i bought a cube a few yrs ago for £600 new which weighed 12.3kg. Having suspension makes it more fun, you can throw yourself at anything even with out the skill.

Wheelset: hope wheelset from the classifieds, mine (hope pro 2 and dt 4.2s) only cost £140 with less than 100 miles.
Groupset: slx groupset from action sports de which is £208, there might be a voucher code available somewhere as i got mine for £180.
Brakes-Shimano deore new type from rosebike/action sports/bike components de etc. £61 from rosebike with facebook voucher.
Finishing kit: cheap stuff off the classifieds.

why do you have to log in? doubt they get many customers if you can’t see their stuff..

£200-£220 seems fair. Just put them up for a price you want, then negotiate.

When I did my first build in dec, I got fox talas forks off here for £190 and hope wheels which were nearly new also from here for £140. Just make sure you collect the items in person or use PayPal, as there are some scammers on here.

Some the german sites and merlin sometimes do some good deals on fox forks.

I’d recommend searching the classifieds for hope wheels I got dt Swiss 4.2s but crest, flow, arch etc are meant to be better, they should be around £140-£180.

Does anyone know how to swap the hoses on avid elixir crs? Do i just unscrew it, let all the fluid drip out, then put it on the other brakes? or is there something else i have to do?

Garmin 800, great piece of kit. Can easily do a whole new route off road without stopping. Not sure I’d bother with the os maps on it though.
And the iPad as well, that’s good to.
Using view ranger on iPhone, just Isn’t the same as a garmin.
I’ve got all three. :D

Well I survived, and only fell off once, which i think is a record for me :D

Well i won’t be going that fast as both my brakes rub, just the front rubs more.. :P

i’ve managed to get it to stop squealing, but its still rubbing.
As long as the noise is relatively quiet i don’t mind that much, i’m used to rubbing brakes while cycling.
If it start squealing, i’m taking my avid which is in need of a bleed, but should be ok
will do the dot4 thing some other time, as i’m going by train, so won’t be passing these places.

yh, i don’t pull my front brake much, it just happens that i have 3 front brakes to chose from (2 avids and 1 stroker trail) and they are all F**ked…
