as above – 08/09 vintage. I’d probably steer clear unless a total bargain.
You could be lucky and a dodgy cartridge may have been replaced sometime in their lifetime – have the current owners any feedback on warranty/servicing?

Ladies SBX yesterday was fab – gutted for Zoe Gillings to miss out on a run in the final due to a photo finish.

+1 on chicken being your friend instead of cheese/ham

Snack on/drink stuff that has zero/low cals (water/carrots/celery etc)

Check your portion sizes – stuff like myfitnesspal allows you to calculate cal value based on weight.

Very mental side/headwinds! Took twice the normal time, but no rain thankfully (Bristol).

Was glad to get home in one piece.

Are you working through your own limited company either direct or via an agency? If so bazzer’s response is the best way to go.

If you’re not (are you fixed-term permie?) talk to HR.

I’ve been a few times and although you can easily ride to the top and hoon down, the number of runs you can do in a day compared to using the uplift is way less (obvs).

I love the trails and it would be great to have uplift on tap, but I know this would come at a cost – I’m sure the BPW crew are aware that people would like to have more uplift.

Last time I went up there I checked in at the desk as the iPads weren’t working – when I was asked if I was uplifting I replied jokily with something along the lines of “don’t be daft, I didn’t book 3 months ago”. Lady behind the desk responded with a face like thunder – I think they’re aware of the situation and there must be a cost/logistical reason why they haven’t laid on more buses to date….

The Tory guy was a bit of a stooge – struggling hard to defend Boris going back on his pre-election promise even through DD pulled out the exact quote.

    Starkey is a muppet – he’s a caricature nowadays.

MTB is the warhammer of sport

    +1 ;-)

I loved a bit of WH40K and BloodBowl when I was a nipper – unknown to me my Dad kept the lot and now FuzzheadJr#1 is developing an interest!

    Space Marines FTW ;-)

Save the week for when the babys born.

Unless you have some super-urgent DIY to do before babber appears, this is probably the best advice.

Depending on the biggest sprocket on your cassette and where you ride obviously, but personally I wouldn’t go lower than a 36t or maybe 34t on the front. But then I’m a masher ;-)

You should be able to remove either the remote or hose from post end and wiggle cable through the frame without needing to bleed (Reverb).

As far as routing the cable – some frames have inserts within the frame; with my frame (Commencal Meta SX) I used a straightened metal coathanger with string tied on the end which was then tied to the reverb hose. Push coathanger through from headtube hole to seatpost hole, string goes with the end of coathanger, pull hose through with string.

It’s got to be the skiercross, boardercross and ice hockey for me. Watched a thingy on RedBullTV yesterday on one of the Aussie boardercross contenders and his preparation for the Olympics. Awesome stuff.
Just gutted Palmer didn’t make a (nearly successful) play for the US boardercross team like last time…

I can recommend Spank Spike Race28 wheels – I plumped for some recently over a ProII/Flow EX combo. 1900gish for the pair.

@fozzybear – I’m not a hater at all, dogs off leads in public places is a v thorny issue. We regularly have 2 dogs with us on our group rides, and aside from getting lost are very well behaved.

Having been bitten by an off-the-lead dog last year (Ashton Court, Bristol), I have a rather dim view of dogs off the lead in public places.

Sorry, I should have used a ;-) after the wet clay bit. ;-)

They’re fine for a bit of trail scrambling, haven’t read the mag review but for hike-a-bike and pushing up rocky/muddy trails they’re fine.

I used to have Gravels too – the Five Tens are more built-up and padded than the Gravels and so do take a while longer to dry out. Mine seem to dry out overnight sat on a radiator – much better than Impacts.

Grip is in a different (better) class to the Gravels, but the Gravels are still great shoes.

Mine are great on and off the bike – I wouldn’t recommend trying to climb wet clay in them, but they’re plenty grippy otherwise.
Not that element-proof though, mine seem to end up full of water, especially at the moment.

I did the mini enduro at Haldon in open face – some people raced in fullface lids, but as mentioned above, it means either wearing it on the transition stages (climbs) or taking another lid to wear. You have to wear a lid at all times iirc.

i think they run pretty small, deffo worth a try on – i think the recommendation is to size up as they’re “racer fit”. I normally wear a large and have xl for the nukeproof
