+1 on Saint M810 short cage – my 6 year-old jumped up and down on mine (accidentally) and not even slightly bent :-) the cheese-like mech hanger on my Blood did help though

I have wide UK11 feet and use UK11 AM40s with no problem. Very roomy and plenty of room for SealSkinz etc when it gets chilly.

I run 2.35 SP 60a Minion DHFs in preference to RQ BC 2.2s.

The Minions roll faster, grip better, corner better and deal with dry and filthy (wet mud as opposed to wet clay) conditions well. The deeper tread seems to help in the filth over the shallower tread of the RQs

The RQs wear better, brake a bit better and are a little better on greasy rock/roots.

If you’re going from Minion UST 2.5s to RQ 2.4 UST you’re going to save a bit of weight I think.

not sure if this helps http://forums.mtbr.com/shocks-suspension/how-convert-you-06-07-66-rc3-dampening-608192.html

it’s for a 66 rebuild/damper replacement, but maybe the same principles apply?

    Oil levels here http://www.marzocchi.com/template/contenuto.asp?LN=UK&IDFolder=777

Closest I found (I have a set of 55 rc3 ti) were some step by step photos on an mtbr.com forum post. i don’t have the link to hand, sorry.

Not had need to crack mine open yet :-)

If it’s the non- u-turn version, then you just undo the top cap on the spring side. There’s a preload spacer under the top cap – watch you don’t lose it – top cap off, preload spacer off, spring out, new spring in, preload spacer on and top cap back on. 2 min job.

Size 11 feet here – have got on well with Easton Cullys, Superstar Nanos, Wellgo B54 and Straitlines. Didn’t get on well with DMR V8/V12.

no way, you did a good thing by starting a new thread – given the amount of traffic on the new trails, maliciously swapping the direction arrows in this way creates a real hazard.

Sounds like low oil in the damper to me. I had an issue with mine which meant them going back after 2 weeks… (Lyrik Coil RC2DH)

Straitline pedals = v grippy but need new bushes & grease every 3 months
Superstar Nanos = v grippy, low profile, light and have lasted 2 years without needing a moments attention

+1 on the Strider, just bought mini-fuzz no.2 one for his 2nd birthday. He loves it :-)

big mini-fuzz started using his own bike with stabilizers at 2.5 – i think he kept riding with me as well until he was over 3. You can adjust the feet holders up and down a bit to cope with growth.
The thing to watch out for is when they’re a bit more savvy and their arms have grown, they may like to attempt a bit of backseat driving – holding the bars, changing gear, braking etc ;-)
I can highly recommend the WeeRide.

it is slightly trickier to dismount, but apart from that, it’s ace for me and the mini-fuzz. Older mini-fuzz loved it too until he got too big for it.

i had to buy some longer bolts to fit it on to my Gemini & then Prophet (1.5 Headtube).
Currently fit mine onto my Blood.

I was initially tempted by the Marzos, but a combination of a previous years’ bad reps + a cracking deal on some RS Lyrik DHs made me go RS. Two weeks later, the stanchions showed anodizing wear so they went back to be exchanged for the 55s.

The 55s are silly plush – tricky to get set up right as the manual is cack and the Marzo website doesn’t have handy setup tips like the RS website does. But tinker and play and you get to the sweet spot eventually – they seriously rock. And i quite like the 3 years no service stipulation warranty…

    I have this one http://www.asgardsss.co.uk/detail.php?pro_code=Acc1

Bolted onto concrete base, ground anchor bolted through the floor into concrete – vey secure. Bit pricey, especially when you factor into the concrete base, ground anchor etc, but it’s very solid, very secure and keeps the elements off the bikes.

swapped my pair of RQ 2.2 BC for some Minion DHF 2.35 60a – the Minions are faster rolling and corner better, maybe not quite so good in the wet

I have some Reverse FLi XXl – 760mm wide, 19mm rise, nice sweep. I bought these after I bent some Sunline V1s – many stacks on the FLis and no bendage yet.
