I’d say they work with most bikes. You’ll need to source some longer bolts for a bike with 1.5/tapered headtube though.
    I’ve had our WeeRide on:
    Cannondale Gemini
    Specialized Enduro SX
    Cannondale Prophet
    Cannondale Chase
    Orange Blood
    Specialized FSR XC

Wasn’t such a good fit on the FSR XC as it’s my wife’s bike and the top tube is quite short. But still worked.

Only good can come of it – IMHO the politics of the paper concerned are of note due to the fact we’re being run by a Tory govenernment. If they think there’s votes in the campaign, they’ll support it (or elements).
As mentioned above, NewsCorp papers like to be on the “winning” side, so the fact that the Times is behind this can only be a good sign.

sizes are pretty bang on – I’m a large with most manufacturers and large Howies stuff fits me well.
As above, Howies t-shirts are long in the body, which suits me as I have a long body!

I wouldn’t personally, especially in rush hour despite 30mph roads. Ride on pavement or get bike-mounted carrier?

loving the Marzo front and rear – had been toying with the idea of a BR when my Blood died, but Orange are in the process of sorting me out with a new warranty frame

As above – good DBAs are always neeeded. If you initially get into SQLServer admin, you can always branch out into more esoteric areas such as data warehousing.
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away I was a DBA :-)

I’m running a Gamut P30 as per your first link – light, easy to fit, doesn’t fill up with mud, never dropped a chain. Recommended

+1 on seeing Ratboy deliver this year

Am I right in thinking T-Mo isn’t racing any World Cups this year? So the women’s champs could be v interesting….

Had some Fox 36 VAN RC2s for 3 years or so, no problems with them. Now running Marzo 55 RC3 Ti – blows the Fox away in terms of performance. Highly recommend the Marzocchis. And I don’t have to clean/cuddle/stroke them every 5 minutes to make them feel wanted and loved ;-)

Have used a set of Rockshox Lyrik 170 DH which felt nice, but they went back after 2 weeks due to stantion wear which Fishers were unwilling to warranty. Thankfully the bike shop I bought them through (Winstanley’s) swapped them for the Marzocchis.

stop the direct debit for next month, give them a bell and pay the arrears next month/whenever he can. Is he off work long-term? He should formally notify them of a change in circumstances if he is, as they won’t stop the clock on his old payment schedule until he does.

If he calls them and gets through to anyone who’s jobsworth/stroppy/useless, put the phone down and call back til he speaks to someone reasonable/competent.

    As above, good luck!

my eldest started on a 12″ Mongoose mini-bmx type thing when he was 2.5. Used it until he was 4 when we got him a 14″er. mini-fuzz No2 has just started off on said Mongoose, aged 2.5.

The Spesh kids bike seem to have a low standover, judging by the ones my kids have thrown a leg over. Phone up a Spesh concept store/Spesh dealer and ask them to measure for you?

I think Clive Forth has come to town (Bristol) a couple of times, potentially via the Bristol Mountain Bike Club? Maybe see if he’ll be making a return visit?

try scanning to see if any of your neighbours have suddenly plumbed in a WLAN router that’s broadcasting on the channel you use?
I had a similar issue before – a BT HomeHub (sp) from a neighbour seemed to be very aggressive, switching channels on my router fixed the problem

For the budget, I’d say a Heckler or Prophet MX would fit the bill. Marin Attack Trail is a good shout too – but it’s a Marin ;-)

I used a pair of Kyle Straits for years – very good, protected my knees well and only had to retire them as they started falling apart.
I now have some O’Neal Sinner Sastec jobbies – highly recommended also.

I’m running a Conti Baron on the front and a Rubber Queen on the rear at the mo – both BC. Seems pretty good and very predictable even in proper filth. Wouldn’t recommend the RQ on the front in proper gloop.

Ran Minion DHF 60a front and rear last winter, can recommend these too.

the thin Howies ones are good – NBL Light I think they call ’em. Way overpriced normally, have picked up a couple over the years in their sales at much more reasonable prices.

IMHO, if you’re not feeling the love of Yer Tiz, ride it faster.
If you find it too busy, try ride early in the am or ride at night? I’m over there 8ish most Sundays and there’s normally only one or two other people on the trail; three loops of Yer Tiz + a loop of the Nova trail should see you a good hard hours blast.

Personally, I quite like not suffering a mudfest every ride during the winter (and spring and summer and autumn!). It’s awesome to see all the kids out on the new trails, which can only be a great thing – maybe we’ll see the next Hart/Fairclough/Bryceland hailing from Bristol?
