Worst tyres ever? +1 on Tioga Factory DH by a country mile. Had to endure many, many crashes with these p!ss poor excuses until I bought some proper tyres.

cynical on the part of Boy George – old gippers tend to be conservative (note small c) and tend not to change their vote. So if you’re a nasty Tory Chancellor who wants to rinse one part of society to fund a tax cut for yourself/your mates, they’re easy prey.

thanks – it is odd that they aren’t on the Oakley website, and some shops are showing them as “discontinued”. Weird. I’ll try going thru the LBS.
Do they really go clear under low light/darkness?

Long time Minion user here – now running Conti Baron up front. Worth a shot. Rubber Queens are decent too, but lack the edge bite of the Baron/Minion.
I too razz the LW/AC trails – the benefit of the Baron is that you can switch from Yer Tiz/Nova to some of the off piste stuff and they handle the slop well, similar to the Minion but grippier.

Hope ProII 12mm thru-axles have a tendency to snap when used with a Maxle Light. If you haven’t got a 12mm thru/Maxle Light you’re probably OK.

The good news is that the Tories are revealing their true colours as swivel-eyed self-interested loons who have a pathological need to dismantle/privatise – i.e. “the nasty party” of old.

i think they will legitimately be able to say “our road tax pays a company to charge us to use the roads” ;-)

Given that the proposal includes siphoning off of VED to grease the wheels of this little enterprise, it’s a wholly different kettle of fish to the road-pricing schemes we heard about under Labour.

i expect she thinks she was a kickass PM, but given how her kids have turned out, I also expect she feels a tinge of regret.

no, not just new roads. Roads that have been altered, worked on etc. So one of Dave’s buddies’ companies could work on a road, alter the lines to create a new lane and then be able to charge people for the privilege of sitting in traffic on it.

This has got to be doomed now, given that even the local Tory MP thinks it’s a daft idea?

casing has relatively small volume for a 2.5″ tyre, but the tread is fairly chunky, especially the side lugs. Stick one on the front and you can’t go wrong. Enjoy :-)

Surely this a case of not watching the right hand coz of what the left hand’s doing? i.e. we’ll be so glad that they don’t scrap the 50% tax rate that we won’t notice/mind the other policies that get introduced that benefit Dave/George’s old school chums…

i don’t think that many people voted for the Tories, they voted LibDem because they felt cross with Gordon/Tony. Bet they feel good about that now ;-)

@ creamegg – it’s not replacing the axle bushes (rebuild kit), it’s the inserted top-hat shape bushes that need replacing.

    Yup, standard Straitlines (not AMP).

Fair amount of Orange 5s in Bristol too, as well as the SS On-Ones etc mentioned above. Plus Giants & Nicolais from what I’ve seen + a fair smattering of Lapierres.

+ 1 on plush but not divey. I had similar problems to you trying to get VAN 36s to feel the same way, but very hard to achieve. The Marzos feel that way out of the box. Awesome

re: preload – i just use coil preload on mine, no air – air preload made it a bit notchy when i tried some. I’m a big unit too (15.5 stone) and don’t feel the need any air preload on mine.

Used to have Fox VAN RC2s – excellent forks til the damper exploded, but that was 4 years in :-)
Had a set of Lyrik RC2DH, but the anodizing wore off the stantions within a month, went back to the shop
Now running 2011 55 RC3ti – excellent forks, no dramas, just work and work very well. Tons of grip, easy to tune, stiff as f*ck. Recommended :-)
