i’d pick a name that says “this is not the company you want to inspect” to Mr Revenue ;-)

are you going to market yourself at all? If not and you’re just contracting through it, chillax and go for something as per alfabus.

Northwind – thanks very much for that, I’m tempted to knock up something similar

    Cheers :-)

That looks very cool – thanks for posting the pics. Is the foot of the mount stuck to your helmet?

Northwind – it does sound ingenious and awesome!

I’ve tried the “holes + zipties” method and it is flappy – the hardhat mount rocketman posted looks a good solution :-)

thanks matthewlhome, good idea too. Just found it on Exposure’s website – looks a bit like a screen mount for a satnav?

Thanks guys, that’s given me some food for thought :-)

Rocketman, that looks just the job, nice one!

If the Urge RealJet is the sort of thing you’re after, try and pick up a Troy Lee D2 open face from the ‘bay?

    I run 170s – 6’1″ with 32″ inside leg

    Like em becuase:
I like bikes with low bbs
they feel like they allow you to spin easier/better
    I have short legs ;-)

    Sticker books
    Reading books
    little toys (cars etc)
    in flight movies

but above all, book a night flight. Get the kids to the airport, let them run around like crazy things, eat some food, get on plane. Sleep :-)

Never tried an BOS or XFusion fork, but I love my 55 RC3 ti FWIW. If you’re looking for a fit-and-forget, hard-hitting plush fork for riding hard that doesn’t fettling every 5 mins, it’s the one to go for :-)

2.3 SB8s year round on my hardtail, front and rear. :-)

Trail-centre type stuff (Brizzle, FoD, Cwmcarn etc) + commute.

Strava isn’t the most accurate – when i record my commute, it regularly varies the distance travelled by 0.1 – 0.3 miles over a 4.5 mile distance. And this is when the route is exactly the same, door to door.

LW will be open as normal, as will be 50 acre – traffic will be heavy around AC before signing in/start time I imagine, and people normally park at the rugby club near 50 acre too.
If you’re driving in, parking may be an issue.

TBH riding into work on a lovely morning like today, most tunes put me in a great mood.

Anything but Coldplay that is ;-)

    +1 for a Strider

My youngest has had a Strider since he was 2 and my eldest used a 12″ bike with stabilisers from 2.5.

See what works for your kid, try out a few in shops?

TBH, the first film to properly scare me was the Blair Witch Project. It reminded me of going camping up in the wilds in the Forest of Dean as a kid and seeing freaky little houses…

as above, depends on the tint. I have some clear – black iridium transitions in my Jawbones and they’re light enough to night ride in.

Companies aren’t not hiring because of employment legislation – rather the (global) economy is on it’s knees and no-one’s spending any money. Once companies can grow, they will be able to hire – see also being able to borrow money from the banks we bailed out/subsidise…

Surely Osborne would be better placed encouraging companies to pay a living wage, rather than a pittance which is then propped up by Tax Credits etc?

the public sector doesn’t comprise of companies, so I don’t think this mad / interesting idea would apply in any case.

Schools are public sector and are increasingly comprised of academies, which are set up as limited companies. Hence this could apply to teachers theoretically…

There must be some good drugs in Tory HQ at the mo – I mean it’s not like UK workers are over-protected (see any redundancy/offshoring/outsourcing deal from the last 20 years)

When in the deep woods stop and turn off all lights and listen as the forest comes alive, seriously exhilarating. Then you notice you pedal away faster than you thought possible

    +1 for this :-)

I’m not sure I agree with everything RC says in that article, but the power metrics from Lee’s article are interesting and make compelling reading.
I think the thing about clips or not is it’s a matter of preference – racing or no, conditions, what you like, etc etc.

Nico used flats from time to time to great advantage when the tracks/conditions were in their favour

nah, they’re special spaces for if you’re running late/can’t be f*cked to walk your kids to school.

At least that’s what they seem to be used for round our way ;-)

Yeah, all the time, don’t worry about it. You’ll probably be fine for your ride home or for riding in tomorrow :-)

Give yourself a break, have some nice food for lunch/brekkie and try and forget about it :-)

I have “slow days” when I’m just not up for racing into work, heavy legs etc.

I find that I tend to reign it in a bit after a trip to A&E

    this +1

as above, if you’re not “feeling it”, don’t go hard. See also “just one more go on the big jumps before I go home” ;-)

no longer feel the desire to race as I get older, but still like to ride hard and fast

“Nebulous” – like it! :-) Yeah it’s a bit fluffy

I guess I mean that as, IME, clipless shoes have stiffer soles, I get more feedback via flat pedals and corresponding shoes.

Never liked Tesco since the whole Shirley Porter gerrymandering thing.

And their love of manipulating planning process – here in Brizzle we have a Tesco metro/express thingy being built next to a Co-Op store. WTF?!

As a flattist, i do like:
    – having the axle of the pedal under my arch rather than the ball of my foot, feels much more natural
    – being able to micro-adjust my foot position
    – i can feel the movement of the bike more
    – not being locked into place helps my dodgy knees
    – clips always a bit like i’m perched on the bike, rather than “in” the bike

Not read the article yet, but didn’t Morgane Charre win the Elite Women DH World Champs on flats? Beating a field of clipless users (including Rach Atherton)?
