Why do you feel that way?

Nothing complicated about it. I live in Scotland. Granted, that is in the northern portion of a land mass which was coined Great Britain. But, in terms of “Britishness” that means zip to me. I’m Scottish.

I’ve never felt British. I’m Scottish.

8.25 deck with 5.375 trucks as recommended on the route one builder thingy!

Maybe the picture is off, but they do look well narrow. I’d be riding 5.5 trucks on a deck that size (or 144 in Independent speak).

    I’ve got this t-shirt!

I initially used to pander to the repeated requests then it got out of hand and I dug my heels in.

It’s even more galling to know that the monthly payments I pay doesn’t get spent on the kids in its entirety.

I did a rough calculation that I’ve transferred something like £47k in maint payments since we parted ways.

Scots are now evoking the worst kind of human sentiment to try and justify independence when you don’t even need to.

I’d argue that now is the time we very much need to.

No you get the government that the UK decides, we all do. That’s how it works. You have the same representation as everyone else in the UK. Being Scottish has nothing to do with it.

Scotland hasn’t voted the Tories in since 1955 yet here we are.

Besides, the only real reason for these figures is that Tertiary education is IIRC either much cheaper or free in Scotland, and it’s paid for with money borrowed by the UK as a whole.

ScotGov subsidises education via balancing the books from the Barnet formula.

How is the education system? Many say the SNP has wrecked it in Scotland.

I had a whippet that had a spell of doing that. I was completely unaware of whatever spooked her, but something obviously had. I’d agree with a change of scene to reset things.

Saying that there were other times where she would do her business in the garden and steadfastly refuse to go for a walk if she didn’t fancy it.

I have an old pair of Nike Air Rift – the ones with the camel toe (OOH ERR Missus) they are the most comfortable shoes/ sandals that I have ever owned. Hoping to get one more year out of them as they are not made anymore.

New Rifts are being released this year.

I did what you’ve done and searched for local ones and made a shortlist of ones that seemed suitable. I then made appointments with them (shortlist was whittled down to three) and stuck with the one I felt most comfortable with. Being comfortable is important otherwise you won’t be open and that kind of defeats the point.

    Good luck.

ETA It was a few years ago now, but I’m sure all three initial consultations were free or certainly at reduced cost as Therapists recognise that suitability is important.

interesting. I wonder how easy it is to turn off and turn on wells – I’m guessing not easy.

For safety reasons, it’s a quick and simple process to shut in or open up a well. Restarting the production plant for onward processing is the more complicated part.

I’m in Laurencekirk, so in the southern end of the shire. Logistically it’s good. I have a rail link and I am two minutes to the A90 Aberdeen to Dundee road. Roughly a half hour drive in to both city centres (although 99% of the time, I’ll choose Dundee as I’m not a fan of Aberdeen).

In terms of outdoor access, I have lots of quiet country roads for road cycling.
A nice drive over the Cairn o’ Mount takes me in to Ballater and the wider Cairngorms. Front door to Ballater is just shy of a one hour drive.

How big is the company? Do you have a conflict of interest policy? If it’s a moderately large company it may be worth sending them a message explaining the situation. It’s not a “HR issue” at this point, because nothings happened. But it is a conflict of interest that at some point could get the company in trouble if you don’t get pay/promotion/training/etc and it’s perceived that they had an influence on that decision.

A conflict of interest policy relates to how an individual undertakes their business in a manner which won’t negatively the employer.
I can’t see any relevance in this situation which involves a private transaction between two employees outwith the scope of the organisation (either HR or conflict of interest).

Wasn’t the range Raleigh’s last serious effort at competing in decent MTBs? Those and the Ti Dyna-Tech’s.

Nah, the RSP line which followed Dyna-Tech were pretty decent. I had a Ti one and still have an 853 one which was hardly ridden and still languishes in my mum’s garage. The 853 one is from 97ish if I remember correctly.

Good luck with your new hound!

Many years ago I had an ex racer and it was the easiest dog I’ve ever had. As long as it got a decent walk, it was happy to chill for the remainder of the time.

I was curious about it too. Tried some high concentrate CBD flower. It was nice, I felt chilled out without feeling stoned and I got a good sleep. I enjoyed it enough to try it for a while, but it’s not life changing. That said, I’m pretty pain free in general.

Just be aware that CDB may not be totally “safe” if your job is one that involves random or for cause drug testing.

The place I bought from provided testing certificates which showed the low THC content and anecdotally, I’ve been tested without issue.

Rural Aberdeenshire and nothing here other than one house with the butcher’s apron in the window.

That said, I did drive through Ballater and Braemar last week and they seem to be mad for all things jubilee unsurprisingly.

I’ve got whatever the previous version of Sidi Frost were called. Great boots that refuse to die. They don’t feel clunky at all. I’m a 45 in most shoes but 46 in Sidi.

As said above. Cruisers are fine for just skating from a to b.

I ride 8.75 decks which can see me from a to b but are also still fun at the skatepark. For wheels, I stick with Spitfire.

My wife is concerned about the consequences of food poisoning from this raw food (lets face it this frozen stuff isnt regulated in any way) has any one heard of bad consequences from the frozen raw food route?

None whatsoever in seven years of raw feeding. I just use the same precautions as if I were handling raw meat for my own consumption.

Not sure why you think it’s a free for all. The place I buy pre-mades from (when I can’t be arsed going to Morrisons/the local butcher) is DEFRA licensed and audited, Pet Food Manufacturers Association accredited, OF&G certified organic and the company has an ISO9001 certified management system by a UKAS approved certifying body.

An excellent book on raw feeding is Feeding Dogs by Dr Connor Brady. There is quite a lot in it which would put your wife’s mind at rest.

Nice! I keep looking at these as a possible upgrade to my current bike and I really like that colour.

I’ve just ordered a set of 44mm Raddlers with black walls too 🫤

@TheFlyingOx that one came from One Second Closer over in Poland although they don’t have much in the way of choice and are limited to Seiko.
Dagaz also do well finished dials for Seiko, but it looks like they are giving up mod parts and concentrating on complete watches.

Otto Frei are apparently good quality for Sellita movements but are unbranded.
