I can’t imagine spec’ing a bike without one. I’ve had no reliability issues on either an original reverb or my latest Fox Transfer. The ability to get the saddle out of the way or where you need it on a variety of trails is great IMO

I too would give up rear suspension before the dropper…

    I got it

Not sure if anyone has mentioned Jedi yet 😉

Incredible days training with him that I put into practice every time I ride. The best money I have spent on this hobby.

Thanks OP. What a great find. I love stuff like this. Looking forward to further episodes. Only downside is waiting for more…it’s frustrating enough waitIng for more Binky!

Love my Ambush pads. Very comfortable and well padded. Happy to wear them for all day rides. Will be replacing them with another pair as they’ve lasted well including a few machine washes. Love the fact you can put them on/take them off without removing shoes.

Are these any good? Im thinking of the “Al Bond Jumps and Drops” course. I know the default answer on here is to go see Jedi but thats a bit far away for me.

I’ve done both and while I hear you on Jedi being a long way to go (it was for me), it is/was on another level.

That said, my riding did improve after the skills day at Llandegla.

Another vote for the Mazda 3. Ours is the fastback but the rear seats fold and I can get my bike in the back. Comfy and well equipped. In sports nav trim it’s a very pleasant place to sit on a long journey. It also bucks the trend of small turbo charged petrols with a normally aspirated 2 litre yet still only costs £30 a year to tax (admittedly not the biggest cost of running a car!)

I’ve had a faultless service with Tesco, on O2 network.

Ditto, been with them for years. Customer Support (when needed) has also been excellent.

I’ve recently come back from Soller and did two guided trips with Tramuntana tours (based in the port). I thought the mountain biking was ace. I’d warrant the off road route to the aforementioned Cala Deia is far superior to the road one :D

Regarding access, my understanding is that unless specifically noted then all footpaths are good for walking on. My guide seemed to think there was little restriction on riding (unless you were on private land).

Soller or Port Soller both seem like good bases for both mountain biking and road biking. If you and up taking a mountain bike I’d recommend taking the FS.

However, if you have limited time then as others have said the road bike might be the better option. There are some very good road routes that are a doddle to navigate.

I walked up/down those steps the other week. Funnily enough, in my head I was thinking about riding my bike down them…

You could try the longendale trail from Hadfield to the railway tunnels then back. It’s a disused and reclaimed rail track so flat and straight. Probably about 20 km there and back. More suited to a hybrid style bike than a road bike. You’re struggling for anything else that length avoiding hills

In the STW tradition of recommending what you’ve got – GT Grade.

Mine is the 105 Carbon but there are many models below that

A friend of mine has one of these secured to the floor fixing points at the rear of the vehicle. Different mounts mean different forks can be mounted.

Nice. Looks, how to I put this, a wee bit small judging by seatpost extension and stem length?

I’m 6′ and it’s a large. Stem is 50mm, seatpost was “as assembled” and before it was set up for me. It may be the angle of the photo but it may also be because it does have a really low top tube.

I did this guided tour. It was ace. 30k and 1230m climbing. The descents are excellent and there is hardly any road. Took me just shy of 4.5 hours total.

Good stuff! Only this morning, I fired off an email about this very tour :-) Hopefully going to hire a Trek Remedy off them as well

I demo’d one of these today and came away very impressed.

It was (relatively) light, lively and ‘poppy’. The geometry felt spot on for me and It climbed really well. Never bothered with the various suspension modes, just left it open and it just worked.

It is very expensive but it felt way better than the SC 5010c I demo’d the other week. I know how well regarded they are but I just didn’t get on with it. I only mention the 5010 because I guess cost wise they’re not that far apart. The 5,5 rode the way I imagined the SC was going to based on how people describe them.

It’s really difficult for me to justify spending so much on a bike however – and obviously this is entirely subjective – it was right up there as one of the best bikes I’ve demo’d recently

I’m interested in this also. I’m coming from a 2011 Spec Enduro and according to the stats I’m looking at (from the owners manual) is longer in reach than the Capra.

I’m almost 6’1″, 34″ inside leg and think the XL would be too long in the seattube. If only I could test one :(

That said the L Capra is only 5mm shorter than the L Cotic Rocket and I tested one of those and loved it (struggling to see past the value of the Capra though…)

    Confused and uncertain

I discovered Project Binky earlier this year and immediately started to binge watch it. I hadn’t realised it at the time that it was an ongoing project so was frustrated when I caught up.

As others have said, it’s very well done. Amusing, informative and quite simply bonkers.

Can’t wait to see the finished article.

Edit: Also enjoyed Mark Evan’s programs, didn’t skimp on the detail but kept things moving along and interesting.

Anyone had any trouble with these? Wife has had one for a couple of weeks now and the largest (alu) sprocket bent in towards the next one rendering her 11 speed cassette a 9 speed. No marks or signs of a rock strike or any other external influence.

Perhaps the combination of chainline and raw power was too much for it.

I had something similar with the 10 Speed 11-42. I contacted supplying retailer and Ison replaced under warranty
