I suffered this until I changed to a set of carbon bars, they took the sting out of the trail and prevented the trail buzz going to my hands

JCL cheers for that looks like my mind is made up to get a Dixon frames. How did you find the split pivot suspension?

    fudge9202

As I intend to run a new frame with a new set of revs 150mm forks it looks like the covert is not in the running, a pity as it was my first choice when I started trying to find a frame to deal with the terrain that i ride in and I love the descents over climbing

Yea jolly green giant a scandal and a set of wheels for same money but that green is sic a real persuade, how sad to be swayed by a colour.

The best descripton I’ve ever read for a tyre and I agree wholeheartedly!!

“Maxxis Ardent best all rounder, fast as a runaway bride , grips like a divorcee in alimoney court.”

I run one of these and they are awesome stems super stiff and great clamping area for your bars they are much better in the flesh, seriously bling and more importantly you are not a SHEEP!

You could always get other half to drop you off and then she could entertain herself in the village , you can easily cycle the road to the village when you’re done.

+1 for Ballinastoe ride it regular very good with fast singletrack, I run a Maxxis Advantage front and an Ardent Exo rear as it is quite rocky in places, the locals if any about will possibly take you over the mountain where you ride along sleepers over the bogs and onto some other local trails that loop back to Ballinastoe, no showers or cafe at trail head but local village Enniskerry has some superb eateries. DO NOT LEAVE VALUABLES N CAR! Also Powerscourt Estate nearby, good day out for family

    j3ffo That Dixon looks awesome!

Would love to have a demo on both but sadly in Ireland, also looks like I need to rethink fork choice. Just checked Freeborn’s site the Dixons are specced with a 32 150mm fork, just what I have so a result, anybody running a covert similarly specced?

Run the 2.25 Exo version on the rear super grip but as above not so good in the mud have an Advantage on the front a great combo IMO!

Just had a three hour run in the Mourne Mountains,(Northern Ireland) singletrack rooty and slightly muddy, some fire roads and rocky singletrack, had an Advantage on the front 2.25 and an Ardent 2.25 EXO on the rear, they were absolutley faultless and aswell as awesome grip they gave good feedback of the trail and were not draggy on the climbs.
But you will struggle to get these for £20 an end.Best advice buy used before spending loads.
