Would like the Nigel bag but pricey and then import duty, love Apidura as well but again pricey. Then came across these guys on Instagram and look just the job and waterproof. Also can be made in colours to suit your tastes

Great choice I had a croix de fer and then bought a new Vaya frame set, absolutely love it I’ve two set of wheels, one for road and one for gravel, they are a beautiful frame to ride. Enjoy 😊

I don’t think the Jones bars would look right in my Salsa Vaya

@damascus is it the flip up part?

@coatsey cheers but I know the cause it’s a kidney tumour, causing low potassium which I’m medicated for but the numbness is exacerbated by pressure riding with weight on wrists and hands. So despite trying every avenue suggested by the ever helpful stw people above this seemed a good option. So far with a few rides it seems to be working with the variety of hand positions on the drop bars I can take the weight off my hands completely. The option to flip them up is great and the carbon exiting are super comfy. Just think I need a slightly longer saddle?

So 2 weeks on and after several days trying these out I can say that SO FAR🤞my hand numbing has lessened, not saying it’s the complete solution but with the varied hand positions they help. Have done several long rides and a definite improvement, great that they flip up as I love riding on the tops also.

I’ve owned two Sherpas over the years and really wish I hadn’t sold the last one. They are an absolute hoot and reading this has made me want the latest one

Same here can run them down to 25 psi front and 27 psi rear no issues

Had the same concerns so played safe with 2sets built on Hope Pro 4 hubs, both swap with no adjustments needed

I had no weeping at all possibly just not bedded on rim properly. Love them on my Vaya but going to give the new Venture 700×50 a try when available in U.K.

Set mine up tubeless on WTB Sti25 TCS rims with Stans sealant came out next morning and my front was down. So removed the valve core and added 20ml more sealant inflated to 45psi. Next day they were still inflated and adjusted the tyre pressure and have had no issues since.

Cheers Damascus and Bez. With things the way they are at home with the wife my rides will top out at 3-4 hours while someone cares for her, so battery life not a massive issue and can always grab a power bank if things improve with home life. Think I’ll grab one in Halfords, kids got me vouchers for Father’s Day 👍

@Bez are you stillrunning the Edge Explore, if so what do you think of it.
    Confused 😐

    fudge9202

Absolutely but to compound things for me the medical condition plays it’s pa with the lower level of potassium

So had the bike fit, all good , saddle angle is fine. But still getting numbness to the hands, I appreciate this is likely to be due to the kidney tumour but as a last resort going to try a set of tri bars but no idea about them.
Recommendations as to shape of extensions and brand welcome.

Same here no interest In Strava, like the navigation side to it plus the feature to be able to set a specific distance from home and be given several loops to choose from showing elevation as well

My resolutes are shod on WTB Sti25 TCS rims and I don’t have any issues. Go on easy and go up tubeless even easier. 😀

Will organise another bike fit before wasting cash, but I’ve had the tumour before the bike fit and have had the hand issues over the last few years while I Mountain biked. Lately I’ve stopped mountain biking and moved to gravel/road biking and it’s become more frequent

Ah good point Montgomery I might just try a stem with more angle, saddle is virtually flat.

    fudge9202

So here’s where I’m at: Bike fit done when got the Salsa Vaya built up

    700cx32 Tubeless tyres
    Double taped bars
    Specialized Gel gloves
    Bars level with saddle
    Saddle pushed back

Still numb hands so can someone please recommend a set it Tri bars with foldable pads so I can still ride on top of the drops when desired

Damascus do you know the brand of the bars?

    fudge9202

Cheers, never thought about the Jones bar, not keen on the look and I do enjoy riding in the drops occasionally. Seat is pushed as far back as possible and bars level with seat. No idea as to cause of tumour but it’s affecting kidney function and adrenal insufficiency result is low potassium. If really low causes cramping and spasms and in extreme case( thankfully just the once a potassium drip in hospital 🙁). Consultant is a roadie and he suggested using the aerobars to take pressure off the hands and wrists and improve blood flow. So hence the initial post regarding aerobars

Yes currently using Specialized gel gloves, gel handlebar tape and regularly change hand positions and shake out hands and lower arms frequently but only short lived.

Also keen to see what Brant produces, had several frames from them over the years cheap and great value.
