Great bike, go for it! I’ve run mine with an x-fusion slide, a 100mm reba rl and a rigid fork. It’s superb with the xfusion, it shows up all the (many) flaws of the reba and it’s superb as a winter bike with the rigid.

It’s got enough flex to be comfortable, and it’s a VERY capable descender. If I was buying it again I’d probably size up to a large (I sit between sizes) and stick a 35 mm stem on, but I love it as it is with the 70mm stem and dropper

I’ve got the knee pads, very comfy and light, So I wear them a lot but have yet to experience them in a proper crash.
One of the lads around here said his stopped fitting after he washed his. No experience of the body armour but looking at it at the ews expo, looks very nice. Can you try it on anywhere?

Shame that stages 6 and 7 weren’t run… the weather has been fine, but had they run it and it had all gone wrong they would have been blamed for that too. Had a ‘mare of a run in stage 5 today, but reasonably happy with finishing where I did. Codeine was a monster down everything, only the crudcatcher causing a problem on stage 5 by getting clogged, tearing in half and acting as a brake for the rest of stage 5.

Good event overall even with the cop-out feel of today

Is it a 20mm? They have some play till bolted in, 15mm and qr shouldn’t in my experience

I’ve got a charge cooker maxi and a genesis longitude (26 full fat and 29+ respectively) The longitude is a much more useable bike day to day. Handles like a trail bike, but glides much more like a fat bike with the low pressures

Medium. It’s a short bike in the top tube. Brilliant though!

b r and I managed 10, pretty chuffed with that. Couldn’t have hoped for a better day. Was surprised at the number of capras out there today. What did you need a dropper for Northwind?

I’m with you on the bars, I’ve put mine better use on the tandem which only sees gravel tracks and roads, built my longitude from the frameset, with 720mm bars, 35mm stem on the 19″ frame and velocity dually rims with chronicles on. It’s got deore stoppers with a 180mm front rotor. It’s such a hoot! If I need something with more power stopping on the front, I’ll be well out of my comfort zone first! It’s surprisingly quick uphill as well! Welcome to the fun 🙂

With a 30t front and a 42t rear sprocket it will be 2.5% higher i.e. Not much different

In a pair with b r for the 7. Managed 8 laps solo last year, so we’ll hope to do better in a pair 🙂
Didn’t get an EWS entry this year 🙁 would have had a full suss for it this time and everything!

On-One Codeine? Quite a lot under budget… spare cash to take it on holiday somewhere?

I was on a flight to Dubai sat next to Chris Boardman last year. And Craig Charles was in the lounge too.

Plane wasn’t powered by diesel though.

Might as well be… Jet A1 is very similar to diesel.

Some TT riders certainly balance disc wheels where there is a cutout for the valve

It’s certainly set a few KOMs around the tweed valley up and down
It’s 32lbs with pedals and tubes
    Hmmm…

    KOM segments

If it’s going to be your only bike definitely a large codeine. I’m 5’11” on the large and think it’s right on the money with the stock 35mm stem. It’s certainly set a few KOMs around the tweed valley up and down. It’s 32lbs with pedals and tubes in the x01 spec. The reach feels sorry because of the high bars. Great confident bike. Love mine for sure!

I’ve got the Fireline, the Parkwood is essentially the alu version. Absolutely love it, you can smash it down stuff at whatever rate you like. I regret going for the 18″ at 5’11”, it’s shorter in the tt than I expected so I need to use a 70mm stem, but it’s brilliant.

Large, it’s not that long in the top tube (i’m 5’11” on the Large… perfect size)

if you can find a longitude in your size it’s an awesome bike, otherwise Triton are doing the Krampus frames in size gate for a discount atm Krampus deal

cosmicpop, I’m 5’11” on the 19 as well. I run a 720mm flat bar with a 35mm on-one stem and love it, very capable and confident bike like that. When I test rode the full build it was with the standard spec bar/stem combo, which worked, but not nearly as well for my preferences. Playing with your bar/stem setup is definitely worth a try!

As has been said above, try it for a while. I run 720s on 3 bikes and 760s on one, need to cut them down by 5 or 10 mm though. After 9 months of riding it, I find I clip the bars on things, but not my fingers, so I’m naturally running my hands just in from the bar’s ends. Everyone is different

Haven’t seen anything saying you can’t… I run a 180 on mine, fits just fine

Though notice some are doing retainer rings that don’t rely on narrow wide now, these may be available in 33t.

Aren’t these just the same as a singlespeed ring? I.e. long non-ramped teeth

I’m on a stock spec large, 5’11” here, if you’re around Edinburgh you can try mine, but depending how you like a bike it’ll be a bit short in the reach for you, you can always put something longer than the 35mm stem it comes with on

loads………… and some will be peoples all time greats

Marin Pine Mountain …..17 oo small 19 like a gate
Marin Mount Vision……..single pivot and capable but just did not fit me
Santa Cruz Bullit …..climb like an anchor
Intense Tracer……woeful bike and between sizes again
    Nicola CC…..just not sure
Foes fxr wanted too love it but wrong size

Everyone can make a sizing mistake once, maybe even twice, but that’s ridiculous! Why on earth did you not try them, or if you did, why buy a bike which didn’t fit when you test rode?

+1 for time pedals as above, you can get ones with a platform too

I’ve ridden my longitude down some pretty technical terrain, 19″ 35mm stem, straight bars. I’m 5’11”. I wouldn’t worry about the length of the chain stays, lovely bike handles well stable but can really be thrown around in the bends and berms too. Haven’t run it SS yet, but will do in the future. If you can have a shot on one, if you’re up near Edinburgh you can try mine.

I’d take one over a codeine every day of the week and twice on Sunday

have you actually ridden a codeine, though? That’s also a lot of changes from the stock bike, which not everyone will be inclined to do

I’m in Scotland, but at 5’11” and on a large I’d definitely go with that size again, it’s not a long bike

I’m 5’11” on a med fireline, which is the ti parkwood. Should have gone large, like johnny
