Had bought Islabikes – Rothan / Cnoc 14 for my little ones but considered the uphike in price on their Beinn 20 to be a step too far also combined with their charging of delivery / change of tyres etc; justified by lighter weight and blah blah.
Went for a Spech Hotrock for my 6 year olds birthday instead, £200 in the sales, the bike is still lightweight compared to its peers 10kg, and rides great, sloping top tube and 40mm of travel make him feel like a proper mountain biker. Riding rooty, muddy local singletrack the tyres aren’t ideal so an easy swap out for an amazing first off road bike.
The major plus with the Isla was that we sold his Cnoc 14 for £150 after two and a half years use :)

    Love my Reign X

Built up currently for DH but had a few guises over the years.

Maestro suspension is great for pedalling so no issues with the ups

    comes alive when pointing down

    Previously had only Islabikes.
Amazing bike for the money and feels like a ‘proper’ mountain biker now
see if you can pick up a discounted 2012 even has a sloping top tube for good measure

I have a 6 year old son who occasionaly has trouble sleeping, those occasions are always when the routine has changed, sleepovers / no bath / rainy days stuck indoors etc.
Sounds obvious but lots of exercise then a nightly bath and book before bed = 12 hours of restfull sleep works the same for my 4 year old too; bed time hour is important past 8pm and we start to have issues

I did the same with my Elixir too.
Certainly not expected on a high end brake!
Now I dont bother using the adjuster.
Out of interest where did you buy yours?

The wife dislocated hers wearing my shoes to go into the Garage.
Two months to start gripping ok, now six months on she still goes to finger physio and wears a splint at night.
Try not to knock it initially (critical stage)
I reckon 12 months seems about right!

+1 for POC VPD, yes its expensive but you hardly notice the pads when riding, also had 661 Kyle’s too and they are good for a hard shell and obviously cheaper

I tend to go easier after a few beers the night before. Of late I’ve been gripped by the beer fear on really tight fast descents, keep saying no beers on a Friday / Sat before the next days ride but sooo hard to stick to, been riding alone alot so maybe thats partly to blame too?

I have a Reign X0 – the slightly slacker Reign guise with 36’s. Super easy to pedal,as happy doing trail centre laps as doing DH shuttle runs. Took it to the Alps and never felt underbiked.
OK so if you love climbing you might have an issue but for me its perfect winch and plummet material

Went to ride the wall on Sunday. First section after bridge was closed due to Landslip – diversion is on the old railway path to Cymer and then back on yourself on the other side to join the climb.
A couple of top sections closed too – 373 and one other.
    Badly signposted diversions too.
