Weeksy, are there actually really nice trails around you, because I live in Wantage and its all dull as round here.

    Serious Question

I got one but it was already falling apart when it got delivered. The rails on the bottom hadnt been rivetted on. Rivets were rolling around in the box so I could self assemble if I wanted. Pretty obvious when I took it out of the box, but I guess not to their QC inspectors.

Couldnt find aything about warranty on their site and they ignored all my emails and tweets asking about warranty. Pretty poor all round and didnt give me any confidence in spending so much on one of their products.

Merlin who I bought it off were excellent in refunding me.

Has anyone got the merino planetx hoody that can comment on fit. Looking for something to stick to my skinny frame?

not everyone is pie eater with fat reserves,

Im 6″2 and 75kg, pretty minimal bodyfat. I did a 100 mile road ride solo lsat week with just water and 3 homemade lentil bars. If you are bonking about 40 miles into a group ride maybe lay off the refined carbs.

This thread inspired me to do my first 100miler on a Road Bike. I managed it riding solo last Saturday in 6h30.
I do lots of short hourish rides normally but actually found the 100 miles at a slower pace much easier than I expected. Im sure you will achieve the time you are after if you are riding with others.

Im far from his biggest fan but I found the rest of the ‘gang’ more annoying as they seemed genuinely bereft of any talend. Comedy Dave and Dom in particular. Stick with Kerrang and R4 mostly nowadays.

yes you are right, ski day passes are over a ton not summer ones.

As someone mentioned earlier, to get over Whistler just check out the house price average in Vancouver/Whistler, general cost of living. Price of beer, food especially anything resembling cheese. the thing i could never get over is jobs offering 10days holiday a year.
I am a permanent resident there but chose to come back to the UK.
I was in Whistler this summer too, didnt ride the WBP once, Done over 80 days in my time there but the quality and variety of trails in the Valley was too much to spend over $100/day on a lift ticket.

HaHaHa at all the STW dads that reckon that they could ride those particular trails in Whistler and Pemberton on a hardtail. There are a couple of big committment lines in there that they make look easy. Ive not ridden with Jinya but I have ridden with Phelps and he is a real animal with mad skills, if he is riding that trail its going to be the gnarliest line around. He use to race Psychosis DH in Golden every year on his hardtail, check out the videos of how steep that is.

No, I got these from Canada in the summer which further complicates things.

Which they would just send me a top cap rather than send the entire fork off for however long.

not sure that stuff is in almond milk, not listed on the brand I buy anyway.

you can make pancakes from other flour too. I use buckwheat and hemp protein to make pancakes but not when I have to ride to work straight away as they are proper heavy and filling.

Look up Chia pudding recipies. Essentially you soak chia seeds in Dairy Free Milk over night with rasins sultanas pumpkin seeds etc..

Grab out of Fridge in morning, scoff and ride off to work. Works for me.

I bought Craft bibs as I was told they are long in the leg.

They are NOT, dont buy them. I wear knee warmers with mine so it doesnt look like I am riding in my pants.

I like to race the other donors, thinking that how quickly the blood drains out of me is a indication of my superior fitness and heart health over the average human.

I find giving blood one of those activites where it is ok to finish quickly.

next time is number 20 for me.

Not flown recently, but 3 1/2 years ago I wasnt charge anything to fly from YVR.

One thing to remember is clean your bike like you have never cleaned it before, they wont allow any foreign dirt in. I nearly missed my transfer to Christchurch while they jetwashed my bike with Dettol.

I just make my own using hemp protein, flaxseed, agave syrup, almonds, dates and raw cacao nibs. Add a banana and 500ml of water and it is plenty thick enough. I find it very filling and only drink half of it and take the other half to work the next day.

Im not convinced soy protein is that good.

I just switched to a purgatory from a High Roller on the front of my HT a few weeks ago. I have been quite impressed so far, they certainly have lots of cornering and braking traction and hold on really well even when fully leant over. Not as good as a HR in looser conditions and on off camber rooty stuff though, they have sketched out on me a couple of times but generally i am impressed with them.

TSY – Thanks for the link. I have emailed them with my details.

Is the test the same as the guy had done on that BBC2 docu last night. They were able to tell him how many litres of fat he had around his organs.

Surely Hemp protein is what you need, I get mine off a seller on Ebay. Mix it into a smoothie with almonds, flaxseed and raw cacoa nibs, best recovery mix ever.

I make Red dragon Pie once a week and does me for a few meals. I make the mash out of carrots and swede rather than spuds and it does have a small ammount of rice in but I use brown rice but I guess you could use lentils/quinoa if you are super strict.

    Recipie here http://www.redactedrecipes.com/2008/01/red-dragon-pie.html

Or i made these enchiladas the other day and it was totally awesome although I suspect corn tortillas arent idave comliant I guess you could use dosa flatbread/chapitis.

I was living in canada when I bought the frame so paid Canadian GST and PST on it at the time which the invoice I have does show. Bought it with me to the UK 3 years later and didnt declare as obviously second hand.

That duty calculator says about a tenner for a frame worth £40!!

It suggests I wil have to pay import duty@4.7% & VAT as if it were a new frame

No, I still have the old one here but it is a replacement, it was too broken to be worth sending back to Canada just to be binned there.

My brothers 59 plate 520d has had 2 alloy wheels replaced under warranty as they had cracked. IVe never heard anything like this, they arent even the low profile options. Could be a faulty batch I suppose.

OK thanks for the help guys something to go on at least. Ill try and contact the council, I dont really want to move so i have to think how far I want to push this really.

I think its just greed, he says its due to rising interest rates, pretty sure they have been a record low for a few years now.

Ive no idea if he declares his income or not. Sounds like he can do what he wants then.

I looked st those HMO’s but it sounded liek there needed to be more rentpayers than we have in the house to qualify.

Im more annoyed about how he went about it than anything wlse, I got home last night and there was a note shoved under my door saying rent is going up from the 1st April. No discussion, the guys here all the time so he could have at least mentioned it.

He’s not a friend as such, but obviously supports his dad side on this so he can carry on living rent free. We pay rent to his dad so i assume that makes him my landlord even though his son signed my contract.

According to that Shelter link i should have an assured shorthold tennancy but I dont.

Yeah 3 of us rent rooms in a house, our 4th roommate is the landlords son.

I have done these informal lets before and they have been fine, in fact in 9 years I have never lived in a house where the landlord has put rent up during my stay but I have moved around a bit.

I spoke to a solicitor today and I will send him our ‘contract’ to look at tomorrow, his initial assessment is that the contract is not legally binding so he can do what he wants but maybe try and negotiate.

I could move but the house has a secure garage for my bike and there isnt so many other options where I can get use of a garage.
