That Nicolai’s welds look just the same as the welds on my Patriot! My friend’s just got a Liteville(alloy) frame. It’s welds look more like the welds on a ti frame. I dont know if that makes them any better thou!

If you use stihl or husky oil it’s 50/1. If you get it from the garage like in the good old days, it’s 25/1.

    Hello again.
It’s no more technical than Laggan, and will make xc mtb look about as spectacular as synchronised swimming! but hey ho the cameras will catch it all with back drops of a big river and a rather large oil refinery.
Oh yea is the M4 realy classed as a back road???

Your’ll be sad to know I’ve got to go now.

My final words, not that there worth much, Having the xc mtb in Essex is like having the clay pidgeon shooting down the local Quazar center!

    Bye

You know what i have to reply with now don’t you!!!

North Downs, South Downs, Swinley. All have equal if not more elevation and have the advantage of creating more natural trail surfacing.

Wales, Wales, Wales, Wales. Yes you can cycle anywhere, but the m in mtb doesn’t stand for mole hill. £800 000 would have given the allready thriving mtb scene a very usefull boost

I did say originally that I thought the course builders had done a good job of creating what they had, with what thay were given. I will even go on to say that I would quite happily go and have a go round it after the olympics has been and gone. thou i feel they are going to sanitize it far to much. The chicken runs are allready there, alot of us mtb’ers are capable of riding the same course as a pro xc rider, even if we do enjoy weekend blasts around trail centers!!!

[ It was deemed that there are no closer facilities that are appropriate]
This I feel would have been the appropriate conclusion for essex regarding mtb!

London Olympics? Are all the sailing events going to be held on the Thames???

All though I feel that the course builders have done a great job of creating what they have created on the largest mole hill Essex has to offer. It still looks pants! This country has so much more to offer!

[There is a lot more to a forest than trees/quote]

There’s the bug’s & beasty’s that live upon the very specific trees, shrubs, flowers, grasses, etc that are indigenous to this country.

Yet the south downs have some of the oldest yew woods in the country!

So how much of the south downs can i turn in to precious chalk woodland???

So back to the Surry Hills. In your opinion is deforestation the right thing to do? And if so to what extent?

    freeride_frankie

You can rest assured, as far as the south downs are concerned, there safe!

Are you saying that the south downs never were woodland???

You seem to be mistaking your ‘fact’ with my personal preferance!

I’m not being argumentative but the tower is but a small blip in history! I’m sure the trails will still look ace when our descendents are defending there existance. While looking upon them from there hover mattresses!!! :o

I agree with what your saying, and realise that these special sites need preserving. I realize that we need to eat and farm the land. But remember even before your hay meadows what did we have?

    Forest!

Tree’s don’t need much, that’s the point of the continual managment of these different habitats. If it’s not done you end up with scrub/heathland, followed by tree’s……………Lavvvly!!!

    freeride_frankie

I do understand the importance of protecting various habitats, thou I’ll allways favour landscapes with more rather than less tree’s. I find the replacing indigenous tree’s with non-indigenous one’s a bit odd!
