went to the funeral of a work colleuge who was on the donor register.

A family member read out the names of the 7 or 8 people who, through his organs being transplanted, were either saved or lives made massively better including one who had been hospitalised for the best part of 3 years and who went home a week afterwards.

The impact was huge and I signed up immediately afterwards.

I encourage others to do the same. At the end of the day we wont need them when we go to the endless Alpine-esque singletrack heaven in the sky (or the endless flat muddy field down below if you have been bad).

always put your mobile number on ebay ads. 8 out of 10 ads you put up will end early as private sales.

Also, if you put you item on for £0.99, then you can list for free.

Me and 4 others are spending 6 days in the Alps over the PDS week. As well as taking in the more obvious and well trodden routes we also thought that this year we should get a bit more off piste than last and so organised a guide to help us explore the area better.

The chap can take up to 8 so hence we have 3 more places!

Will work out at about E30 each for a full day.

Andy – still got 3 places left for the guided day we talked about a while back.

    Email me if interested.

higgo – the PDS is an event about the atmosphere. Sure that weekend is crowded but I thought that it was more a celebration of mountain biking than anything else!

If you havent done it before its well worth doing.

We have booked a guide for one of our days there. Would be good to get some local off-the-radar trails in!

    is it spot the difference?

It took me 2 years and about 9 bikes to find my ideal ride (Turner 5 spot). It transformed me as a rider and what I could reasonably expect to get out of my bike. A lot of that may be the fit of the bike. Its a 19″ and I think I was always trying to squeeze my body into an 18″!

Then I sold the frame and upgraded it to an RFX and its transformed my way of thinking even more!

Thats what makes this forum such a good place as even if you are a little bit savvy you can chop and change frames / bikes for little or no money and really experience different things.

life is all about experience in my book!

oh and as for the spray guard, yep one of the best things I have ever fitted to a bike! Get one!

bash guard en-route and cable housings will be elongated as they are tight.

90mm down to 70mm and a layback post should see it more stable at warp speed.

Also will change to a short cage rear mech.

    Very happy with it.

Bought from a private seller in the US btw.

Off to do Jacobs Ladder tomorrow!

its a 2008 model and so not the DW link version. Got it for £620 from the States (posted) which i thought was pretty good! Only got £45 import duty as well (no idea why!).

rental agreement is for it to be left on the street after the period ends and so I am not liable for anything now.

drafted a letter to the administrators offering them a grand so fingers crossed! 😉

no drive but will send them a letter saying that I am charging them for the daily safe storage of the keys (£10 a day from the date the company went into administration) plus a to be negitiaed price for taking up parking space in front of the house.

Or they could just buy me a Gravity dropper and we’ll call it quits! 😛

Only thing I am worried about is stripping the anodising off as the frame (5 spot) is fiddly in places.

    Any suggestions people?

How much £ was it in the end? (powder coat element only)

    freeform5spot

Andy – what frame did you get done, what was the finish like and how much prep / finishing did you have to do yourself before you put it together?

Tracey – good photos, as above, what was the finish like and how much faff was it to finish the frame ready for use after the spray?

Also, (stupid question) can they spray over anoidising or will it need to be shot blasted beforehand?

    questions, questions, questions!
