goes a bit odd in IE8 too – everything left justified bar the phone numbers and the links directly underneath.

Are you sure it's the cleaners?

Maybe Mr P!ssyfingers the pot-clinger has been using it as some sort of mid-piddle-balance-enhancement-unit?

I've still got the original thread open in an old tab – I see what you mean JGR.

Who posted the tag "Who's laughing now"?

    PT = Personal Trainer?

    Excellent news, congratulations!

    Glad your girls are okay.

Welcome to a strange new world – it's ace.

What are the tags for anyway? Is it a 'yoof' thing like painting an illegible squiggle on someone else's property?

Property, is that it? Are Surf-matt and TJ now property of STW because they've been tagged?

Thanks TJ. I'll limit myself to righteous indignation only 8)

Thank you for the kind words folks. I'm feeling better about it after a bit of reflection.

It's odd, but it never felt 'right'. I suppose I should have known when the FD turned up 35 minutes late for my first interview and didn't have the decency to apologise to the fat bloke sat sweating in his bestest interview suit.

I was tempted to ring ACAS, but I don't think I'll bother. What would I gain other than a load of stress?

Br. They've promised payment of my months notice period. I have also requested payment for accrued holidays (5 days) but am not holding my breath.

Better off out then? Thanks folks.

Anyone need a 42 year old IT manager/ex-Infrastructure Architect? All jobs considered. Will work for food.

I thought the same and have looked on the CAB website, but couldn't find anything. I've also checked the direct.gov.uk site too.

EDIT: TJ. I think so. I have requested this in writing (e-mail) but so far have heard nothing.

FS. They've said they will provide a reference, but I'm not sure I'd want it. A six week gap in my employment record (of 22 years) could possibly be explained away.

Much prefer Google images now. Maybe it's because it is 'different'?

Oh, what time shall I expect the rabble with the torches 'round at my house? I'll have the kettle on :-)

To shut our relatives up, we told them that the two choices we had for boys names were Adolf and Ghengis, as "they're not very popular and we don't him to have a common name"

I went to Findhorn many years ago and camped on the beach. I vowed to return one day, it was lovely. Now I've got kids of my own, I'm very tempted to head back; although beach camping would have to wait until they were much older.

I could do with this too.

I recently bought a NAS and a popcorn hour box – the intention being to put all my DVDs/CDs on the NAS and put the discs in the attic. Unfortunately, the open source software I was recommended won't allow me to copy my recently purchased copy protected DVDs. This was Handbrake[/url].

In life before kids, MrsG and I used to take a bottle of wine and a pie (pie for me) to the cinema. Many disapproving looks. 8)

I met Guy at the TT this year – he did a signing in a library in Douglas.

What a thoroughly decent chap he is. I seemed genuinely bewildered by the amount of attention he gets!

Yes, the same mounting system; it works quite well. The monitors are only slid into place when we are about to embark on a long journey (>1.5hrs). However, the back of the car ends up as a right mess of cables. Power from the fag lighter to one box, then power, audio and video to the other.

We use them in conjunction with a set of headphones for each of the kids. I don't know why we didn't do it years ago. It was bizarre the first time we used them on a long journey; the kids were silent and transfixed – me and MrsG didn't know what to talk about :D

Sorry mate – I cant find a link to the exact configuration I've got. This is the next best thing, but it's more expensive and the screens can't work independently.

Keep your eyes peeled for the SDV47AC (this is the one we bought)

I recently bought a twin screen system from e-bay. £100 for a refurbished set that either work linked or independantly. Plus, if you have films on a USB stick, they'll play them too. Was very pleasantly surprised at the picture quality too.

I'll see if I can find a link to similar.

One of my neighbours has recently taken this up as a hobby and I must say that (even as a 40+ chap) I'm tempted to go along for a look.

Yes, you will need additional remotes and nunchucks.

I'll need both? Also, what is a "Wii MotionPlus"? doesn't this do the same thing?

    <wanders off scratching head>

I think I might just buy her a cardigan instead

Thanks folks. Can it also be used as a media-centre-type-thing?

Also, we've only got an old CRT telly – so no HDMI, Will this be an issue?
