    I’m failing miserably..

I’m sat here now with a large unopened box of nicorette products on the shelf above me…

    soon.. soon

Read this, it now costs less than a packet of tabs. And you can read it while still puffing away.

I don’t know if you can get one that will take an ipod, but we’ve got a pair that will play movies from a USB stick.

    I think they’re Nextbase SD47 somethings.

We bought them as a pair from ebay from a chap that reconditions them. They were about £100 and are really very good. You can get the same picture on both or play them independently.

We have two steps and both seem to work.

The naught step and, the step above, the calm down step. I introduced it as a bit of a joke as teh youngest was having a hissy fit in reaction to her brother but wasn’t being naughty. Strangely, it worked. If either of them get wound up, quite often, they’ll take themselves off to the second-from-bottom step, for a bit of a calm down.

Another option I heard of was to use a can of soup (non-ring pull variety).

Put two holes in the can to allow the soup to be extracted.
    Wash the can out.
Cut a thin slot in the lid.
    Insert used blades.
    Recycle when full.

I can’t see the you tube links at work, but if the “vibro-sprout challenge” isn’t there – it should be. Much wibbly-wobblyness

We stayed here twice, two and three years ago for friends 40th birthday parties. It was really very good. The accomodation isn’t luxurious (bunk beds) but all you do in that part of the building is sleep anyway. It has the added bonus of a fully set up bar that the owners will stock up with your chosen beers – I think we had three on tap.

We also got the local supermarket to deliver – even though we were quite a way out. (put BD23 5JS into google maps – I can’t do the linky thingy as it keeps getting stuck at the ‘ampersand’)

The games room was great for the kids, as it meant they had somewhere away from the adults when the weather got nasty. Pool, table football and table tennis were available.

The barbeque area was pretty cool too. It’s covered so it meant that we could cook outside without having to worry about weather.

We were bought one as a wedding present nearly 21 years ago. We’ve only ever used it as a ‘big pan’.

Coffeeking – when you say you can do a stew in 15 minutes, what would the same stew have taken at normal atmospheric pressure?

    This any good? *

*Disclaimer. I have not tried this, nor do I know anyone who has. I just ‘googled’ a bit. Looks promising though.

Sierra Navada is very nice, I haven’t tried that Brew dog though. I’ll look it up next time I’m in Sainsburys.

    I love beer me.

    Is it green and furry?

If yes, then remove green furry stuff and eat
If no, then rub tummy in a comedic, clockwise, motion and eat.

]I’m not sure what your budget is, but I use a Kriega bag on my Motorbike. It has the advantage of being waterproof and the excelent strapping system means I can really bring it in tight so there isn’t any movement.

Don’t those counts exclude posts on ‘the old site’?

I’ve been around here for years, but seem to spend considerably more time reading than posting.

Conversation between my 5 year old and his Mum two weeks ago:

BabyG #1: “Mum, do skunks do stinky trumps?”
    MrsG: “yes BabyG #1”.
BabyG #1: ” More stinky than Daddys?”

Saying that… Our lass had her gall bladder removed about 18 months ago and ever since her trumps have been vile.

My Mums Christmas cake mix was the best. In fact I think it tasted even nicer uncooked.

Get some fairy liquid, run the hot tap, safe yourself a few hundred quid, and do a better job. Dishwashers are horrible things. Just saying like.

    What’s your hourly rate?

Before we had a dishwasher, we could easily spend an hour each day washing and drying pots, pans, etc.

If you’re on the minimum wage (£5.93 / hour) you could have paid for a £400 dishwasher in only two months. If you figure your time is worth more than that, then the dishwasher will pay for itself in a shorter period.

Used to be pretty reasonable on the Cornet (Grade 8, principal cornet for a few Brass Bands) but could also turn my hand to most other Brass instruments. Also play the Didgeridoo, the guitar (very badly), the eukelele (ditto) and the triangle.

new tyres every 10,000??? You mean you change them more than once a year?

Try riding a reasonably powerful motorbike. Depending upon the tyres, I have had between 3000 and 9000 miles from a pair. And I do 20k miles a year on it. :D

In fact, I think this is a troll, nobody its that dumb surely?

Given the amount of detail and the length of the post, I doubt very much that this is a troll.

The OP was probably expecting the company, with consistently good on-line reviews, to be an upstanding and honest member of the profession. No need to insult him.

Surely the coffee lounge forum wasn’t meant to be actually about coffee…?

It might not have been the original intention, but it most certainly was the outcome.

I bought a bag of Tangfastics on Saturday after hearing people talking about them on here. Are they drugs or something?? I couldn’t stop eating them and ended up feeling like I was off my t!ts…

I had the first 50 2000ADs. My mum threw them away

Me too – the first few years worth. My mum gave them to the local school jumble sale when I went off to Poly. ABC warriors were my favourites too.

I also remember being introduced to Calvin and Hobbes about 20 years ago; a mate lent me one of the books. I laughed so hard I cried. Simply brilliant

Outwell are good value tents. If you’re happy with last years model, they can be had quite cheaply too. Good quality and reasonably priced.

Edit: Just had a quick google and their prices seem to have gone up somewhat.

Found these though: Outwell Fusion and the Outwell Oakland

    Are you a professional footballer?

<looks at bank balance> :( Oh. No, it appears I am not a professional footballer.

Because they’re all shandy-drinking poncey fairies? Maybe.

Sorry to hear of your loss.

I lost my Mum to that god-awful disease 21 years ago. I still think about her every day. Treasure your memories, try and be strong but remember it’s okay to grieve – don’t bottle it up.

the avocado stuff is much nicer than the sandlewood and the lemon lime i’ve tried

Hmmm.. I’m almost 2/3 of the way through a large pot of the Lemon and Lime stuff (very nice it is too). Might give the Avacado a punt if the Arko stick (recommended on another thread) isn’t to my liking. Thanks for the heads up.

Not sure when I’ll get to that London though. I went once…..
