I run some on my Scandal 29er. I run them with some rather large Hans Dampfs and they seem pretty good to me, very reasonable price for the quality!

Why not a 650b Norco? I currently have a Shinobi (to review) and a Norco Range-b. The Shinobi is a great bike but nowhere near as dh friendly as the Range.

I think there’s some confusion between CX bikes and drop bar hybrids. 😉

Norco Range, it’s 160mm though. Pretty good overall, especially after I threw the SRAM crap away 😉

I currently have a demo Shinobi that I’be got to review. Its an awesome bike and pretty damn stiff too! Only downside is the Conti tyres which aren’t great for the more natural stuff, easily changed though 🙂

Nuke I take itt he 456 headtubes are the same length, i.e. a headsett for a 16” 456 frame is used for a 16” Scandal?

I have a 1-1/8” Steerer and a new style Scandal so all the fittings are identical. Can’t see a reason why it wouldn’t work?

If you can pick up a 2012 WTP complete you’ll be laughing, quality bikes with good geo and parts.

I think you’ll be hard pressed to find a better price, all mechanics in Evans are Cytech qualified (Grade 1 and above). I doubt you’ll be disappointed.

Never had any major issues with Hope brakes. I’ve killed XT,Saint,Deore,HFX9 and recently a pair of Zees (in three weeks a new record!).

They may not be the most powerful but they have good modulation and more importantly are FULLY rebuildable unlike most of the competition.

Any brake can fail but compare the price of new seals for a Hope caliper against the price of a new shimano XT caliper – for me it’s case closed.
