They are the right ones however in my experience Clark’s pads especially the organic ones last about 5 minutes compared to genuine Shimano ones.

Have you actually asked them? Just because they don’t sell after market doesn’t mean they won’t repair, in their interest to have one of their rims after all!

They seem pretty clear about it, they only build/repair them themselves which involves send them to the USA:

    http://www.amclassic.com/en/faq.php

Why doesn’t American Classic sell individual rims?

We are often asked this question. Our rims are lightweight and can be difficult to build. We handle all wheel rebuilds in-house because our experienced wheel builders maintain our quality standards. Sorry, we do not make exceptions to this rule.

I crashed my wheel and damaged my rim. Does American Classic offer a Wheel Rebuild Program?

American Classic offers service provided by our highly qualified Technical Staff and Wheel Builders. Services include wheel rebuilds, hub maintenance, hub cassette body and bearing changes, and general repairs. 90 day guarantee on all work. Call our sales department for price estimates on parts and service work. Our sales team will take your order and issue a return authorization (RA) number. American Classic does not sell individual rims.

Crests seem the sensible option tbh.

How slack are some of your bikes and how short are the stems?!

I can see my hub and most of my forks BEHIND the bars!

    I’d sent ’em back.

I weigh about the same as you and have the same model Alu steerer). They are 18 months old, have been given a lot of hammering and don’t creak.

    HTH.

Saturday? Bugger, I’d put Sunday in my diary.

I need to pop into work first, but will go early and try and make it for as close to 10.30 as possible. I’ll probably come over from Glencorse side anyway so don’t wait around at the car park for me.

Just looked at the weather forecast! At least the ground will be nice and soft for digging…

+1 to Al’s comment. Incorrect how?

In answer to your actual question though there are a few options here:

Would be my suggestion. I’ve just put one on my SS as I was getting through Aluminium ones in about 6 months.

I’m currently sporting a 2.25 Rocket Ron front, 1.8 Fire Mud Pro rear combo.

Was ideal for the ‘puffer and I’ve not got round to changing it!

Can you get at the end with needle-nosed plyers?

Failing that drill it out and get a new thread and larger bolt put in?

Or give it to your LBS…

+1 (or is that 2 now) for the exotics. I found 445mm perfect for my Inbred but if you’re looking to replace 120mm fork these are the ones:

I’ve got a Panaracer Mud Pro on the back of my SS (Rocket Ron on the front). Great in mud and pretty fast rolling, but a bit sketchy in other places.

Dirty Dan looks interesting but I’ve not tried one.

Edit: oh, and my p7 has a 1″ steerer tube so I can’t even put new forks on that

    Have you seen these?

Good work. Love exploring down that end of the Pentlands.

There is a “path” going from Borestane to the top of East Cairn Hill then down to the Cauldstance Slap, which I discovered this summer.

EDIT: The other way to access West Linton and the Thieves Road is over Mount Maw  :D

A trip from Convanter’s Grave to crosswood is “interesting”. Some pics here: http://singletrackworld.com/forum/topic/southern-pentlands

    Still haven’t made Craigengar….

Very Nice. Wish they’d had an S1 in my size :-(

    4.15lbs is 1.88kg though?!

Sorry chaps. Late start, so I believe I’m entitled to use the sussex bypass to catch up 8)

I follow that with a pint and some scratchings in the Queen Vic, and I’m on double moves next turn…

rthomas17 – That’s basically what I send him a gpx of only, in reverse and I suggested starting at Bonaly to extend it a wee bit. :-)

Lochnagnar -> Carn a Choire Bhoidheach -> Carn an t-Sagairt Mor -> Lochcallater Lodge is a good adventure. Finish via Jocks Road…

Not a Munro but anyone ridden down the old Allt a’ Mhuilinn Path from the CIC hut? Often though that look good.

Not in the west but extending Beinn a Bhuird over to Ben Avon and Meall Gaineimh down is “interesting” :?

Edit: Camera definitely required for the Buachaille!! 8O
