There are some great trail training plans here, and all for free – SWAP training plans

You can also scale them up/down depending on how much mileage you want to do

I believe the 80/20 rule refers to the actual sessions rather than the total time. I.e. if you’re doing 5 sessions a week, one should be really hard, and the other four should be easy.

What settings do people use with their Aergrind for an Aeropress? Couple of turns back or more than that?

I fly into and out of GVA regularly (and live down the road from La Clusaz) and there are no checks any more of any Covid documentation either at the airport or at the French border.

Just did Zone Benchmarking, was pretty happy with where my FTP was already but thought it was an interesting concept so wanted to see how it went. Confirmed what I thought so I’ll leave FTP where it is.

Kind of wanted to do the pedalling drills straight after but obviously it won’t let you and I couldn’t find it in the normal workout folder so just did half an hour with the C pace partner to round it up.

Won’t make the group wrokout tomorrow I’m afraid as I think tomorrow is the one day I can get outside for a ride so will do the unicorn one on Fri/Sat/Sun. I don’t work normal hours so if there is ever appetite for a group workout earlier in the day then I’d probably be keen for that.

Yep, got Devedset done just now, not too bad. Started off doing it in resistance mode but by the end with the cadence changes I switched to ERG as I couldn’t be bothered faffing finding the right gear.

Haha just thinking whether it’s feasible to get a long weekend ride in too or if it’s going to destroy me just getting through!

Just done the TDZ and it’s been good to keep me committed so it will be good to have something to move on to.

I’m up for this too, sounds like a good idea to keep motivated. Looks pretty hard in terms of intensity, but not huge volume. I guess you kind of add any extra at an easy pace as you wish?

I’ll join the strava group and will try and make some of the group rides. I’m in France so the extra hour might get in the way a little at times.

I’ve just built up one of these:

    https://www.workswellbikes.com/race/wcb-r-306-disc-brake.html

Took a couple of months later to arrive than they first said, but I think that was mostly as it was their newest model. Pretty happy with it and the build quality and the communication from the company the whole way through. Think it would easily take 28c tyres.

I’ve done both for a few years and I really enjoy both. Don’t usually do both on the same day unless I’m doing a bit of practice for a duathlon.

I do find it hard to get the balance right between both though and whilst I enjoy being alright at both I do feel that they don’t necessarily work together if you’re trying to get good at one sport specifically.

Not quite what you asked but there’s a guy at DirtKing in Geneva who is a stockist and I was in contact with about a Spur a few months back and he had two GX versions in. Perhaps he could ship down to Barcelona? I ended up getting one from probikeshop.fr as he didn’t have the Sram version in at the time.

You double tap the TV button on the remote, then go left/right to Zwift and slide it up, that should quit it and make it reload next time.

You sure it’s not gone into crash mode somehow? Think you need to hold the junction button for five seconds whilst spinning the gears.

Yeah, we’ve just moved to the Alps so will be applying for residency just as soon as we’ve got our heads around the healthcare part. I think ultimately the plan will be to go for citizenship but as said above, this seems a bit trickier and we’ll come to that in due course.

Funny this thread has popped up as I’ve just been thinking about this. I’ve just moved to the Alps so I’m torn between getting a ‘normal’ full suss trail bike or a fat bike.

With all the snow over the winter I’m thinking I’ll get more year-round use out of the fat bike but I’m just not sure I’ll get frustrated next summer once all the runs open.

I used to have a 520 and when I upgraded I chose the Roam and I aboslutely love it. It’s perfectly designed and quite obviosuly made by cyclists. The symplicity of loading routes onto it and following them is great, as are the re-routeing abilites on the fly. The phone integration and worldwide map updates are brilliant too.

I honestly think I ride more since getting it

Absolutely no reason to be any more worried regarding the Ciara storm. Weather looks fine on Saturday afternoon when you’re due to leave and then once you’re airborne you’ll probably miss most if not all of the jet stream. The only reason it’s going to cause an issue is because it’s moved south, but there is always a jet stream of some description over the Atlantic.

And to be honest, because it will just cause a long flight time because of the head wind, then I imagine most west-bound flights will be planned fairly far north at the weekend in an attempt to remain on schedule.

Yeah, likewise, piriformis/deep gluteal syndrome for about three years. Just seem to go around in circles with physios/doctors.

Vassos Alexander speaks about the Dragon’s back race in his most recent book. It’s called ‘Running Up That Hill’.

I’ve only just started it but sounds tough so far!

I’m selling this, works very well with Zwift and gives you everything you need to get going. No worries if it’s of no interest.

No idea if it’s been posted before, but this article is quite interesting:

The mechanical case against foam rolling your IT Band. It can not lengthen and it is NOT tight.[/url]

I’m no physio, but some of what he says makes sense. Still like my foam roller though.

Same as what everyone else has said. I live in Spain, but with a UK phone contract. I just have data roaming turned off, set it to record through GPS and then it just uploads once I’m back with wifi. Sometimes fails the first couple of times it tries to upload, although I’m not sure where this is just because the connection here is shit.
