I’ve done that once, yeeeeears ago at the shifter end when I had some Campag Centaur thumbies on. (They were massive and didn’t work.)

    Quality programme!
I wish it had been on consecutive nights though, rather than a week apart as it took me a while in each case, to get back into it and remember what had gone on before and who was who.

Oh, yeah, the ad-breaks really p!$$ me off as well and ruin the tension and flow.
I don’t watch much TV and (for this very reason)even less independant TV.

Those gripes aside, the show itself was superb. 😀

I take the 591 off after use, but leave the roof bars on most of the time, as they are a right faff to take on and off.

I’ve camped at Ashurst. It’s a really nice site.
Just make sure you don’t pitch right next to the railway line like we did! 🙄 (You couldn’t see it and we didn’t know it was there until the tents were up and the first train came past!)

Trains thundering by through the night aren’t great for getting a good night’s sleep.

There are some good routes on the Mynd. Not really begging for full-suss, but some of the climbs are pretty steep and would be way beyond me on a singlespeed.(But you might be a lot fitter!) Perhaps go bouncy for the first visit. Geared HT would be my choice.

    Too right ^.

I stopped pedalling on a fixie once. Never happened since

Same here. I’ve never been stupid enough to try riding one again since! 😈 😉

    I love maps.
There’s enough technology in my life already without adding a GPS! 😉

I used to keep all mine until the amount of space they took up was way too stupid.
I’ve recycled everything now apart from my Singletrack mags and the odd one or two MBRs or WMTBs that had bits of particular interest.

(Not sure if I kept my MTB Pro / Mountainbike Worlds, now I come to think about it.)

It’s not the Coldwell Clough descent is it?
I seem to vaguely remember something about a white stone near the bottom that had some kind of myth attached to it.

I’ve just bought one as a complete bike. I needed to be mobile real quick, so didn’t have time to play about building one up.
Only done two offroad rides on it so far, but I love it already. I’ve never ridden a ss before – other than my commuter and I’m amazed what I can manage on it tbh. I’m more of a spinner than gear masher on my regular bike and wondered how I’d fare with one gear, but I’m learning to adapt my riding style and am enjoying the experience. The geometry seems spot on for climbing and singletrack, handling is pretty sharp. 😀
The forks don’t seem overly harsh (not ridden anywhere really rocky, though) and are certainly fine for local forest riding.
Bit early to tell how the brakes will hold up. They don’t feel particularly beefy, but they stop me a lot better than the old Minis on my HT. 😉

It’s the dreaded Cannock pebbles. Your tyres are o.k. 🙂
Never had traction issues at CYB!

If I had a pre ride donner I’d want to hurl on he first climb.

    Same here!
    Apres-ride only!!!

I love the Cli-machx route, but I’ve ridden better trails in the forest on the Dyfi Enduro. Probably couldn’t find most of them again on my own though!

I’ve seen a fair few of those about over the years.
Why anyone would ride one is beyond me.

    Loved it!
Thought it looked amazing and the acting was superb.
Looking forward to the rest of the series.

Bought my Cove Stiffee and my daughter’s Giant from them and they’ve been fine in my experience.
Can’t comment on their handling of complaints / warranty problems, as I’ve had none.

    I’d recommend the Rough Ride.
It’s more like old-skool mtbing, but it’s great fun, the atmosphere is spot-on and the long route is bloody hard!

Not been impressed with anything the Prodigy have done since the Jilted Generation album.

Not a fan of dance / rock fusion tbh. Stick to one or the other, eh lads? 😉

And yes the new single sounds like a Pendulum rip-off. Strange that, when they were seen as heavily Prodge influenced.

    1988 for me.
Diamondback Ascent EX was my first mtb.
