I knew 2 people who loved their Ribbles (one carbon and one winter audax) but dread the customer service.

I wouldn't buy from them or some other shops that mimic their service.
You'll get a good deal but dealing with aftersales should be simple as buying, not a nightmare.

Probably buy the Tour bike for a beginner road user but £200 more gets a spesh allez etc.

They are cheap, they feel cheap but you pay cheap so its not a bad deal, just don't expect it to be top end.

I saw one the other day TheSwede and wondered how much a Rickshaw costs…

What about a Mondeo? pretty solid car.

Don't mind dogs but if they cause me to smash my full susser and breaking it or they attack me then the owner should be prepared to pay out or I am going to cook the owner and dog.

You could just run the jacket in soapflakes and once dry, just use a water proofing spray.

Thats what the lady from Endura told me. Works so far.

How much data would an hr on tv catchup use? especially on networks limiting you to 1gb-would see a lot on a tiny 4 inch screen? just use your laptop on wifi etc.

If Apple can fix iphone 4's released from the factory I would gladly get one.

I use contents cover for theft side of things and CTC membership gives free 3rd party cover. I also pay £80 for my roadbike as it covers it like a car and also for sportive/racing should I crash or cause damage to a 3rd party.

Clip someones wing mirror £50-90 and the paint £90 etc
Crash into someone and cause injury £££££
    CTC is £35ish a year.

Does MS cover 3rd party and own damage/injury while in use too?

HTC Desire if you want a phone-better call quality but has a quiet speakerphone when compared to iphone3.

I know loads of ppl happy with their iphone 3 btw.

Personally I refuse to buy a 24 month contract and just buy a sim for 12 months on a better deal using current or buy a phone etc.

Using a steel fork for commutes on an old mtb. It has some give but not too harsh either.

Also don't max your tyre pressures in winter too keep grip in the wet around fast bends etc.

    You can't read Graham S :)

    I never watch the BBC.
I've put all my channels in order of pref and the BBC is last.
I understand if people love it but I think we should have a choice like Sky or Virgin.

I do go to the movies or buy DVD's BlueRay etc.
Radio? I have a hard drive in my car with my fave music.

Just looked at the TV guide -bugger all on BBC for me anyway, Oh I missed Songs of Praise…

I'll happily not pay a licence fee.

I never watch BBC boring as hell or tv that much but do like the odd news or movie/documentary on other channels.

I was in heaven when someone suggested I pay visit to Earth.
I was in the que for years but was seconds in my reality.

Little did I realise I would be in hell, forget my memory and my special powers.

Been lucky on the road back and front with shoddy weather in the place I leave till now.

Its ok, bit of rain but not brillaint, heard it was better than last year when it rained but I was in mainland Europe where it was cooking.

At least we don't have dangerous spiders or large cases of malaria or horrid droughts.

Be thankful we have a mix but I do hate winter!

Most frames are tested, e.g. Boardman Team bikes tested to 18 stone and meet your price wedge.

So many different types of carbon fibre structually arranged.
You can't compare bikes and planes…

Even F1 cars have carbon fibre crumple zones but completely different from bicycles!

Wish he wouldn't retire if he can come back next year even if its just to support the team in the top 30 riders as he's still a great rider.
I'm not expecting big things but I think he can still pull off podiums like in Lux etc. He's had some shoddy luck/crashes as has Cadel Evans.

I wouldn't talk down any rider in Le Tour-its not an easy thing to do and we're here behind a pc…LOL

@fennerhorne -does it give you directions or just plot your route with times and speeds etc. (I don't see the point carrying a mobile and a computer if a HTC will do both-but would love a phone mount on the bars etc).

I've sold bits only to see things sold again in jumbles for 3 times the price later! I got what I wanted but assumed the guy was ripping people off.

    Don't waste thinking about it.

That bike has loads of potential, (carbon frame? -my eyes are dim I cannot see…mmmm!)

I would use the parts that came with it to train on and while you save and get fit for racing if thats your goal and then upgrade bits 2 months before a race.

If people hate the saddle (which he is changing), anyone want to donate one to him???

Or setup a paypal account for the OP and 20 of us donate a quid… 8)

Ask the manufacturer if there is a weight limit for warranty etc.

    Looks good.

Argos do some nice jobs but their paint is flimsy and after a month of riding my frame needed a respray!
Bought a compressor and did a better job myself.

I use them on road -very comfy but I did pay £180.
I have wide feet that narrow down at the ankle and found my buckle not tight enough but on the road it quite tight and had to loosen them up and perfect fit.

I have shimano shoes -narrow fit and carbon souls great but prefer my Dia's. Had Sidi Dragons but always fell to bits on the trail with soft souls-replaceable grips with tougher options form Sidi and look very nice.

Chiro sorted mine out too but I still have to quickly stretch twice a week min.

Hope you get sorted. Ask for the diagnosis and how long/sessions needed.

Does the manufacturer state a weight limit?
Is it made from carbon or alu or steel?
I take it you didn't tighten it too much!

And last you're lucky it didn't go up the where no man has gone before…
    (lucky you're ok)

T'was in Bristol a month ago and saw an indian roadie in full out gear with a special' roadie turban-guessing he was a Sikh.
I thought that was great to see!
But he was difficult to overtake…while I was driving :D

    Anything can breakdown.

My SO is on her 2nd iMac and bought the best one they make.

It broke down and she had to argue for a replacement rather a replacement part.

Only a week old… so far so good but I love my pc for flexibilty.
