Thanks for the advice!
I know real shop lifters have made it difficult for retail and Joe Public but you can't just label everyone a theif and you should do it legally.
When I worked as student in retail, we had a customer you could label a scruffy person. He used to haggle with me over prices as bought mega expensive stuff (which I did lower some prices) and he was a nice bloke' until my supervisor/'police officer wannabe' followed him around the store making him feel uncomfotable and when asked why, supervisor basically accused him of being a gypsy theif and showed his 'Special Constable Police badge'
Turns out the scruff was loaded and a construction company onwner and met up with head office CEO and supervisor was 'pushed' out (the idiot)
You just can't label people from your past experiences but in this case Gramps was wearing smart casual and clean shaven doing the once a week shop as we all do etc and treated like dirt.
I'm tempted to stand outside the shop handing out flyers of what will happen if you go into this shop in front of the press…if nothing gets done and if I can't be sued that is (if nothing gets done).
I can't condone any bullying either-no need for it anywhere.
(Thanks for kind remarks too – appreciated)
FrankensteinFree MemberWell I rang the store and asked for the managers name please and they refused to give me that and the area managers name -sorry we can't tell you.
And they were quite rude to me on the phone, put me on the phone (never raised my voice and explained why I was calling – But I did get told to call head office and "we've been told not to speak to you" and they laughed it off… 8O Grrr makes me mad/disgusted but they have little respect for people.
So I've called Head office just now and they were very polite and wished Gramps the best and told me to type it all up and they would investigate the matter as they had not heard about it.
Its not a bike shop btw! and I best not give out shops name out to avoid slander? but will update in future.
Thanks for thumbs up and yes he does still ride with me Xc or road but ever so slowly lol
Cheers for the advice -might take you on it if not resolved. Oh and he was waiting at the checkout to speak to the lady who told him to get the right goods and come back to her for an exchange.
The manager told the assistant she should have kept the goods off him and not send him to pick the right ones
The manager said it wasn't their fault as they have many shop lifters… Personally I feel it is disgusting..
FrankensteinFree MemberNot after money or sue or staff fired etc.
Just an apology would be fine for him-he's modest and a tough guy but I think his character was offended as he hates crime.Oh and I did feel like getting the Bombers out but I refuse to go their level and get myself arrested no doubt!
Found HO details and writing a letter when I get home tonight.
FrankensteinFree MemberI dunno, I don't speed (75mph max on M'way?) so cameras don't bother me but I do watch other drivers shoot past like I'm standing still but while I like speed too I won't be responsible for causing the death of an innocent driver from careless driving by speeding.
Leave the cameras-nothing to hide so don't worry.
Put cruise control on all cars eg 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70. Driving would be nice just using steering controls and no foot pedal for accerlating.
At least PP is honest and you can see how speed is fun but its selfish without consideration to others.
Just go on a track day with your mean machine!
FrankensteinFree MemberWhen fitting my off road tyres to my motorbike I find some tyres can be a right Basket to put on.
What I do is get some washing liquid like fairy and water in a bucket and sponge the rim and the tyre slides on better and the lube dries quick from the washing up liquid properties.
Also talc the tube and make sure it is the right size on its max so it doesn't get caught.
FrankensteinFree MemberAluminum gives a bit more road buzz than carbon but you can a decent saddle and carbon fork, run 25mm and some decent bar tape.
Ok I love carbon but my first road bike and winter bike is aluminum and I love it. Great training toy and then jump on the carbon for racing.
Been using a 531 steel road bike as a pub bike and I love that bike! but it is heavy but comfy not as quick but gets you out riding more!
FrankensteinFree MemberI like a lighter bike to ride uphill but you can't beat hard hill training too.
FrankensteinFree MemberHe liked you and thought your bottom was average but wouldn't say no.
FrankensteinFree MemberQ WHen do you get the cramp eg during the ride or after? etc out of interest.
FrankensteinFree MemberWell at least it has a passport office…I feel sorry for people stuck in Newport…
FrankensteinFree MemberHave you been increasing time and mileage?
Good electrolyte drink as you ride.
Check Seat height as you could be too low and working the quads too much.
Clipless pedals to utilise Hamstrings and glutes.Eat healthy and increase mileage by 10% each training session and not loads.
How long has it been going for?
Good cool down for 10 minutes of slow easy riding to get rid of that Lactic acid to Lactate again.
FrankensteinFree MemberGarmin 7 series (or any) cycle computer?
Also have a Swiss Military watch copy -I won't cry too much when I smash it on a rock or lampost etc.
FrankensteinFree MemberDog owners rights?
Yeah you have the right to remain silent and pcik up the poop and take it home.
FrankensteinFree MemberNever go shopping hungry…
Hungry and about to go shopping…
Ritz crackers and Philadelhia -light if it makes a difference.
I don't trust myself with sausage rolls or Pringles…So will buy fruit and bananas :)
How the hell can you eat 3 tubes of Pringles???

Do you understand what a peak is?Have you read any of my posts?
Are you stupid?
Oops lol sorry only read the first post and title.
Peaks can be glued or duct taped. You might look stupid to other riders though…why not leave it off like a roadie? go on get a new helmet!
IGMC and duck…
FrankensteinFree MemberGolf and Cricket bore the $hite out of me and I'll take it up when I'm 90 and can't ride.
Sportives are not easy although I'm getting fed up of having to enter one year earlier the sportives I normally do as everyone' is taking up riding.
I'm joining a small riding team soon and we'll be training pretty hard so thankfully it'll divide me from common man sportives and enter the Tour series possibly.
Maybe they should do Gold licence sportives only
And its funny as hell to beat people with 5 grand bikes on my winter roadbike-the look on their face when they see Tiagra shifters and their 6.5 Madones with Dura Ace won't make you faster fat boy.
Oh and I'm saving for a top end road bike now…
FrankensteinFree MemberIf it is true…
But U.S. using chemical weapons when they have been banned and now people suffering from tumors…
No wonder Scottish MP's told USA to **** off!
FrankensteinFree MemberWell he won the de Tour on the same time he gained from Schleck's mechanical.
But thats what the make the Tour de France more interesting!
FrankensteinFree MemberI think one my racing xc hardtails cost £1700 in 2001 only XTR and LX and I thought that was expensive but the full XTR version was £3000.
I had a Cove Stiffee full XT in '03 which set me back £1900
so in ten years I'll be looking at £4 grand? well my wage hasn't gone up by double! But there are people who earn £300K a year who will buy these bikes.
I won't spend more than 2K on a top for me roadbike.Getting silly money deffo
FrankensteinFree MemberI have an XTR caliper with one of the threads gone from readjusting sticking caliper. I wouldn't think of selling it.
If the seller knew this then they just ripped you off. They could have gone when the seller unscrewed them and hence -you only know when retightening and if the seller thought they were ok they could say you did it.The only thing you can do is contact the seller and ask them but if they knew they will just blame you.
Never buy 2nd items like brakes?
FrankensteinFree MemberNo crash warranty? to buy a tax free helmet?
Just buy a cheap helmet on sale etc not worth risking your brains for £40 is it?
FrankensteinFree MemberIf they're better than the '07's then you're on to a winner.
The 2007 XTR pedals have been excellent, I've used on the mtb, winter road bike and my commuter hack bike.
Never had to adjust or service them. If they ever broke I would buy another pair but I did pay the cheaper price before everything went stupidly high.At £100 I would be tempted to just save for some speedplay's tbh.
FrankensteinFree MemberPoliceman, School Teacher and Stool sample analyst? They all deal
with little bits of $hite.FrankensteinFree MemberMaybe an indian did it
Oh and the downside of putting up with Duke of York's stupid comments!
A friend of mine is University lecturer/researcher on £55K a year, comes in when he wants, respected author in his area and generally doesn't have to fight too hard for grants.
He Hates students though but loves being paid for what he loves.
Thats it-do what you love and get paid for it.FrankensteinFree MemberNuclear safety inspector:
Queen of England as you do bugger all but enjoy a great wage and everyone is happy to see you… job for life too!
FrankensteinFree MemberAt least he's out of danger and the truck driver called the Hospital to get help. Shame the idiot didn't see him on a clear road???
FrankensteinFree MemberRepaired my old mans 89' steel Raleigh roadbike, yes it weighs a ton but there are no hils where he lives. Gives a great ride but no it won't beat my carbon jobbie but it is fun. Columbus tubing (depending on the grading) was good quailty.
Why is the missus against you riding to work-dangerous roads?

thought you had a dog ?
I walk about 3 miles a night with mine.
what a load of shite!
Well he probably brings a poop scoop with him.
Just give it a week or two and you'll be power walking in no time-take the dog on a longer walk once a week etc.FrankensteinFree MemberI read it was reduced friction from rain on the tyre but where is the evidence?
FrankensteinFree MemberRode a Boardman Team carbon (CTW test ride) and yes it has a nice spec but it did ride nice. Wonder if they'll bring it down in price for £999.
I'd rather support my LBS but there is no product I have seen with a similar spec (Excl planetX) if there was I would be down the LBS in a flash.FrankensteinFree MemberRemember the ad with his mates and running and no internet come back to mine etc?
Well that Black' gentleman is the Father…
Now vote should the Baby be born:
A) Black and explain herself as single Mums get discounted calls.
B) White and keep it hush -its good to talk but not all the time.
C) Run off with the Black Gentleman and show that long distance calls to old boyfriend can be cheaper with BT.

Frankenstein, check the spec on that Banshee, go on, have a look.Elixier R brakes, decent forks and shock, Mavic rims, branded finishing kit, X7 & X9 drivetrain, ex BB crankset, and it's a true 4-bar into the bargain.
The closest you'll get is a new Pitch Pro at £1600.It is a good spec and if you don't mind some upgrades
to certain parts that fall apart, it will still be still
cheaper than £1600. I'd still get a pitch pro just for the
warranty and be able to sell it on easily and bike snob factor.
I personally wouldn't mind a mate buying one and would not
look down on the user or bike myself.FrankensteinFree MemberRegardless of his background, the CPS found him an innocent bystander, assaulted by the Police Officer! Not even an apology to his family! although that would be seen as confirming guilt…
But they can't agree on how he died from internal bleeding of liver etc or head injury so therefore the case is null…
My respect for the Police is up/down but down the toilet for that one officer as many others do a good job. SO many numpties I knew working for Halfords or the post office joined the police-should I say anymore???
FrankensteinFree MemberI know people who take the bulb out before the MOT but you want to get it sorted for insurance purposes as the ROM will record the date the bags went off and if you have a heavy smash and your airbags don't work knowingly can void your insurance.
P.S.
I will not buy a ford focus or any car without a vehicle inspection now… 8O
