I have a DD for prostate cancer research and have donated enough to people who do rides even ppl on here.
I won't fund people who want to blow us up or hate non muslims.
I'd rather pack a parcel of food, bottled water and a blanket and post that instead. Can this be done still?
If Blue Peter did it 30 yrs ago then why can't we as a nation just pack food and bottled water and send that rather money that will not be tracked?
Actually Ernie its from her own experience with these people and their values. Her mother lives next door to a eduacated Pakistani family. at 2300 hrs her mother was unwell from an operation and went to bed. The Pakistani family wanted permission to use the garage as a platform for their house/roof repair. So when they rang an elderly ill woman at 2330 at night and she did not get up and answer the door they kicked it down.
A neighbour called the police and arrested the middle class Pakistani family.
Another incidence in this country is Muslims want Sharia law, a sexist law where my OH a Doctor could not work.
She was told not to dress like that by Muslims if she visited patients in strong Islam suburbs – in Australia FFS
A society that wants to be seperate in Europe.
My OH is happy to donate money to anyone but her own experience with Pakistani people in England and Australia has basically turned tolerance upside down and into a racist. She has donated her own clothes when on holiday to India and I had to stop her trying to adopt homeless kids but her personal experience is no. And no she is not BNP member and feels Pakistani women are victims from her Pakistani friends.
So please go ahead and critise her, this I intolerance I don't like about her either but her experience with Pakistani people from high and low classes doesn't mean she hates them but disagrees with their values to the point she refuses to donate to them although I would.

After reading this and checking sources on UN charter I've decided not to but still feel guilty!
Hmm handover Nukes in exchange for aid would be a tempory thing and cost more to handle to the nukes safely.
FrankensteinFree MemberI thought Directors were already well off and didn't know they get the charity money! 8O
FrankensteinFree MemberRomeo lol
Yep in ten years time you will be in Tesco shouting Romeo where are you?
And some hairy handlebar tash biker guys will say hello to you…FrankensteinFree MemberI only eat out in France and Italy, no offence but dining out in the U.K. is so shoddy unless you're in London. And English food is boring! except fish and chips which is bang on lol
I went to a nice expensive restaurant in Bristol years ago, all it was Fish, peas and 4 chips for £40 ea? I actually called yellow pages for an Italian restaurant and they said Pizza? FFS. Went to an Indian in the end but the Indian restaurant was really Bangladeshi? lol
So now- just have fun cooking decent food and experiementing at home-well at least I know the food has not been taken from the bin and heated again!
Money saved for a holiday retaurants.FrankensteinFree MemberJust report it to Health and Safety Officer who will assess the situation.
If it is a danger then they will tell security to stop these people bringing in their drinks -besides its not healthy all that sugar and caffine, recycling and more waste costs the hospital – send that to the CFO of the hospital then it will get done.
And relax.
FrankensteinFree MemberI'd buy a car instead to be honest!
But it looks nice, checks lotto numbers…nope not tonight Josephine!
FrankensteinFree MemberNice bike anc, I'm saving for Trek or Spesh so I can get life-time warranty at least but now with summer gone I'm using my winter ride soon!
The Sportive Ribble is a bargain, I do know some riders with the red/black Sportive Ribbles and they do l00's of miles with no probs and these are heavy lardy riders.
Ribble have obviously noticed the bad press and sorted themselves out – look at bad customer service thread- they have been quick to post and reply too.
FrankensteinFree MemberThat chainstay doesn't look good and assuming it wasn't there before.
I'm hoping its just the resin as Boardman Team carbons have marks on them from new too.Best to email Ribble with the pics and ask them if it is safe to ride so you have an email as evidence. Or you can pop into a local bike shop for advice who can supply written quote as evidence if your frame is still in warranty should they the LBS think it is faulty.
Your pics have made me either buy a frame with lifetime warranty or a Titanium frame.
Hope your frame is ok and its just resin marks-check with a LBS to make sure as its not worth risking your health.
FrankensteinFree MemberBoardmans have 2 yr warranty but the £999 went up (which puts me off) in price and the new models will be out in Oct possibly.
I know people who look down on Planet X but they are a bargain, a friend loves his Planet X SL.
FrankensteinFree MemberIndia gave us 'Cha' Indian Tea and Chicken Korma and with veggie rice Om nom nom!
FrankensteinFree MemberNo offence but I wouldn't want my children to be taught science by someone who hasn't got a degree in science or experience in this field.
I know a Psychologist teaching GCSE science and knows nothing around her area.
We need passionate teachers who are passionate and experienced in their subject not people who want an easy job and no subject experience.
FrankensteinFree MemberHow tall is your missus roughly Amplebrew? eg does the bike have a low seat height unless she is tall etc.
My old man is after a similar bike/price but he's 5ft10
FrankensteinFree MemberCougar – some onboard graphics like a 780G+ onwards have HD3200 which is fine for surfing, playing games on low settings and 1080i blue ray no probs and he's only using a dual core 7780 3.0 ghz cpu.
Some new boards have a 48** HD Ati onboard.
My old man had Burnout Paradise City running great (GPU 600mhz) but now he's hooked on gaming he will be buying a 5*** series card soon so he can max it out and a better cpu.
He was on a budget too.
FrankensteinFree MemberAnyone remember the Cagiva Mito when it came out? looked like the Ducati big monster but a 125 lol
I know someone who uses their Honda cub 90cc drum brakes but bigger tyres fitted lol fuel economy is amazing on that!
FrankensteinFree Membercan you recommend a good read for when I'm lounging by the pool
Yeah, Jaws!
FrankensteinFree MemberOr ride the CG for experience and buy a bigger bike after a year or two
FrankensteinFree MemberA pimple on skin is unlikely to be cancer.
See your GP if it doesn't go away.FrankensteinFree Member125s are tiny and even the seat height is naff as is the power.
But I wouldn't mind one of these:
Made for taller riders, useful power in the city, good brakes and handling. 4 stroke too.
Stupid Yamaha dropped the white colour but can see it might be a pain to clean in winter!
FrankensteinFree MemberEat 3hrs max before bed.
But after reading this thread I want to buy some rolls and chicken burgers for breakfast!
FrankensteinFree MemberWell if you do the math and work out area from length x width using the same tyres and rider/bike then you could see if the contact area is increased or decreased.
Then the 2nd experiement would be to setup a jig or controlled rig for grip on different surfaces.
Might be fun if you can get funded and there I was at 17 looking at Material science degrees/Dunlop work experience with motorcycle tyres and thought nahhhh… Dam it would be fun!
What we need is a time machine for us mid life crisis folk!
FrankensteinFree MemberWonder why he needed to cheat on GF maybe she was rubbish in bed?
He's an idiot and probably has herpes now!
Still who cares as football is boring as hell!
FrankensteinFree MemberIt costs a few grand just for slab of marble.
Back in '88 my Mum's kitchen was 8 grand in a sale.
Now I would expect to pay £20KNot cheap!
Maybe a buy a book -kitchen building for dummies as even though you pay loads the fitter does a naff job!
Still would cost loads for the material.
FrankensteinFree MemberCheck ride posture, fit and also find a saddle to take the weight on your sit bones not your perineal region.
If you are single, don't want kids or sex life then carry on with standard setup.
You're just on that road towards to perfect fit and comfort via leanring what works and most cyclists gop through and learn what they need for life.
Or just pay for a road fitting.
FrankensteinFree MemberI use XTR, LX and Tiagra, 105 and now some top end Swiss Bonti hubs.
All good if serviced etc.
My Tiagra hubs go through winter schmuck' and get regreased twice a year-piece of cake with decent cone spanners and top end boat grease sweet! and not shoddy white toothpaste bike grease from LBS.
FrankensteinFree MemberIf you love coaching, long hrs and screaming kids with shoddy pay then do it! Most teachers if not all will tell you "Are you F***ing mad?"
Arrange a few days with a local school once your CRB is clear and see what it is like. Might convince you or run away and no it is not a secure job anymore.
Whats wrong with law??? Or even a lecturer at Uni with law?

Cafe Racer in St Kilda, Melbourne. He's right I've never seen so many roadies in cafes while on conference there -Oh how I wish I could live there but for me its the Esso petrol station that sells energy drinks near Leicester
FrankensteinFree MemberYou're not alone Piggy, I stop at the lights but if I'm late I will hop off the bike, run on the path and then on the road again which is legal but usually I just wait at the lights.
I know so many roadies and mtb'ers who just go through it and once a van driver with an open window asked me why I was waiting unlike my 'riding buddy' who shot through the red lights- "because I'm not a ****" was my answer!
FrankensteinFree MemberWould it be difficult to migrate to places such as India or Dubai where construction is in demand? or even Oz?
A friend who was laid off 6 months ago as a manager and was upset he couldn't find any work etc now has a driving job and he's happy as hell :D
I still think Eastern Europeans are still here and it could be the ultimate plan by stopping industries they want to work in by the Conservatives.
In the mean time hire a JCB and knock down a few buildings when empty like the council building and some schools-leave a business card they'll have to hire you then! actually don't do that its wrong…
FrankensteinFree MemberMost if not all suffer in Recession-knock on affects all not just builders.
Fingers crossed it gets better but like so many who have sold their business-best not wait and act asap.
Good luck and keep your heads up!
FrankensteinFree MemberGood riddence to stupid drivers -they should keep the cameras so repeat offenders are banned. The odd mistake people do but not that many times!
FrankensteinFree MemberLeave alone -you don't know their history although there many happy users.
FrankensteinFree MemberOr if he has a roadbike -park 15 miles away and pootle in. 30-45 mins easy.
Might get fitter and save £1800 in fuel although winter might get icy and wet in summer you'll be in sportive shape!
FrankensteinFree Memberigimap – Member
45 miles each way is about 21,500 miles per year. Even in an old diesel shed that's going to be at least 20p/mile = £4.3K/year. That's £358/month which buys you 75K of mortgage at about 3% over 25years. Then there's the three hours a day you are going to spend in the car. Over the year that's one solid month of wasted time (12% of all your waking hours if you like).
No brainer, move house, ride bike to work.
True in many ways but:
He might not want to move,
Will he get a Mortgage after redundancy?
He will have to supply a larger deposit,
The housing market could up or down,
He loses his job again and loses his home?!
The flexibilty to move
and expect its short term not 25 yrs.(I do agree if it was for a few yrs it would be best moving and buying a house! I have lived here 6yrs at my current address -so it was worth buying but now moving to a new place for 1.5yrs and will be commuting too and then moving again so its best for a drive).
And if he's keen-get a road bike to train on -do one way and train home?
Might be too much but twice a week blast?
