Used a winter bib, no shorts and leggings combo anymore. More comfy and don’t stand up straight too quickly unless you don’t want kids.

Kwik Fit told my misssus I needed new discs and pads all round for £600-800!

I just had new spare budget tyre from them before a road trip in the boot and they said would I like a free brake check to my wife.

The car already had new discs and pads 3 weeks prior.

I told my missus that on the phone and heard her tell the manager.

He still asked if she wanted brakes changing… she didn’t and left and I had to torque up the wheel bolts!

Caught my bumper with a suitcase wheel doh!

Superficial rust will be fine. I just sprayed some oil in the drainage holes in the tubes before the build and during servicing.

Just avoid spraying grease or bearings with oils, it can breakdown the protective grease.

Not the cheapest or crazy expensive – my old man foo’ked one of his dropouts with a blind driver. Frame is still straight but dropout and wheel buckled.

I went Shimano as the freewheel was cheaper and I could get similar stations on XT. The weight was similar too. I can interchange with my other bikes too.

I think XD was a good idea if you need that tiny cog. I’m not fast enough for a 11T.
