  • Freight Worse Than Death? Slopestyle on a Train!

My 70 year old Father hits 80 miles a week on it with 2 rides of 30 miles each and the odd 16 mile hill training.

I was feeling under the weather from too many late nights and using my 38mm CX and struggled to keep up with him as we found the sweet spot of comfort and road speed.

I blame the Sun as it was far too hot ahem.

Thanks lovewookie, I was trying to save pennies with an equivalent model but it’s not worth it.

It’s not a warranty part? My other one has twice the mileage and is fine. This one is hardly used and gives play.

Anyway I’ll get one on order from Superstar then.

I sold my cordless vacuum yesterday only for the buyer to message me it won’t work.

    Would you f’kin believe it.

So she shows it to and tells it will not charge.

Of course it won’t charge, look at the outside cover, it’s got more breaks and fractures than Evel Kinevel!

Her kids (who I used to teach) look sheepish. You dropped it right? Kids nod but their mother says no, it won’t charge.

I gave her money £15 so not a lot and protected my cars on the driveway.

Yes I should have said f*ck off you’ve broken it, sod off. I teach her kids.

I sent it away to the factory for a new case and handle.

She asked me to call her when it comes back and she’ll buy another one from me. Yeah right, I’m posting that one to Mexico, after all the Cartel won’t be bother right?

    Yeah I know my fault.

    Thanks for the advice.

Well he came back to buy more stuff from me…

Then I offered to check the vacuum and belt. Told him to clear any hair, string or debris. And to make sure the brush is rotating. Also told him to empty the thing after he showed me pics of it full to the brim!

The vacuum was hardly used as I had a Dyson so looked and work A1 (you can’t use as new on ads for 2nd hand goods I’m told?)

He’s going to check and told me we’ll see.

Well if you haven’t had a vacuum for 6 months, of course your carpet will be full of crap.

I have a video of the (sad I know) vacuum working while he used it on my hallway trying it out.

I guess if I refund him, he did clean my hallway?

I wouldn’t con or rip off anyone but some of these buyers are a PITA while some are fantastic and social.

    Well problem solved.

I got hold of secondhand garage door.

    Needs paint though.

Now both doors work and just flip and over the garage door and I can wheel out.

Loved the ideas and videos though lol

I did a ring of fire jump as a kid then a wheelie showing off, crashed and needed 6 stitches in my leg where the cylinder cooling fin embedded in my leg. I was 6 years old…

It’s an R6 Yamaha. Don’t want to jump that!

Should have bought a Triumph Tiger Enduro back in the day.

    Great suggestions though LOL!

    Dumping my Run-craps.

I bought JCW Mini 2 years ago brand new and now the front tyres are going to need replacement.

    I’m not going oem runflats.

I’m going slightly wider by 10mm and choosing a sticky racey tyre. The profile is already 40 on 18’s.

I went to a Mini show and they were running Michelin pilot sport non RF.

The handling, grip, noise levels were night and day.

My car didn’t come with spare wheel space. Just foam or RF.

I toured the U.K. in 2017/18 for holidays and was left in the middle of nowhere in Scotland and Yorkshire moors. The run-flats gave a sense of assurance. Yet the cabin noise and rubbish grip in heavy rain means I’ll be dumping them and using my breakdown cover or foam.

I’ve had a puncture fix a decade ago and was a doddle to swap to the spare wheel. Got the original fixed due to a screw. Just outside uni when I was finishing my master degree exams too.

    Go on a dating website.

While she doesn’t want you – her mood, she doesn’t want you with anyone else.

    Hide your toothbrush though.

Don’t move, you’re paying the mortgage and the divorce should include this!

She’s saying it too piss you off.

She’ll be dumped when the guy has had his fun.

Some units are working in the same frequency.

Samsung and LG remotes work on the same brand sets if not too old.

Right after tripping over my bikes.

I just thought sod it and just tore apart some of my retro bikes.

About to strip the Zaskar and it would be nice to finish as a project but I prefer road and CX now.

Keeping the pedals but unbolting the XTR 970 stuff. Had some funny memories with it and had it resprayed Ferrari Red.

I just hope the forks don’t have the split ring where you need a puller!

I could mount the frame on the wall but I’m an ex hoarder. So it’s gotta go!

That would leave me 3 road bikes and a CX bike.

Hi, it was new U turns that I bought but never got round to fitting.

I think it’s mainly the head angle as
I whipped on some old Pace 31’s 420mm
and it felt normal, rigid but fast. I’d want more give though.

I’ll measure the forks to see how long they are and suspect 440mm.

I’ve just bought another CX bike and it’s addictive.

Might just pull the bike apart and take it to the jumble.

Oh it’s a 01’Zaskar Easton frame. More like a road bike but everything has 27.5” which won’t fit it.

    They’ve always sorted me out.

My parcel was due on Saturday and was lost.

    Had a replacement on Monday.

Must be 2 out of 5000000 orders had an issue.

    Be patient and don’t stress!

If I get a bad injury then E-bikes would be useful. Already broken a few bones in my foot a year ago and it hurts to put out a lot of power or run.

My Dad is 70 and I can see him on an E-bike but recently changed his ratio to be easier uphill.

Sat randomly talking with a chef at 2300 hrs at the bar of 5 star hotel, nice bloke. We were drunk as hell.

He opens up the kitchen to show me how to make the perfect omelette for job interviews.

    Nice bloke.

I remembered most of his instructions and add more veg and olive oil for healthy reasons.

    People made Bristol ace.

    Although stay clear from Southmead…

Peterborough does have good roadie clubs and independent bike shops.

Rutland Cycle has a nice shop here but dismal service.

Wish I could move back to Sydney!

ta11pau1, I’ve come back from Bristol to Peterborough and can’t wait get away from it and move back! Although a good hub for London jobs/visits.

I live in a nice area/village of Peterborough, the city is going downhill.

Chavs, unemployment, huge amount of English as additional language parents/children and drugs.

I’m selling up and moving back to Bristol next year.

Riding is mainly road, CX and small trails unless you drive to trail centres like Thetford – not far but poor roads takes ages – I drive to Bristol in the same time frame.

I used to teach in Wisbekistan.

OP, are you f-in mad? Wisbech is bad, very bad. So unfriendly and full of ex travellers.

Ever since it lost the railways, it’s declined, not safe to walk at night and drugs. I used to teach at the local academy and too many problem kids.

Try Huntingdon, Peterborough, outskirts of Cambridge and other places. Or anywhere with a train station.

I moved to Bristol and asked the same question here and original Singletrackers saved my life 15 years ago from moving to s-hole and moved to a nice area.
