    @ Kimbers
    those photos look great.
    less of a manicured trail.
Hope there is a solid base under it else the braking brigade will **** it all up.
i’ll go soon once open to ride it as it was intended and not with nobber braking bumps in it.
you got the FB linky please?

no photos but chuffed with mine.
    Broke numerous ones recently.

    It’s a tough, solid thing.
I ride the Wyre forest which is very muddy.
My mud splatter has dropped 90% easy.

plus the guy who sells them is a nice chap having met his a few weeks back.

    Stealth.
    Is your headtube tapered.
(needing a bigger headset at the bottom than the top).
If so you may need a step down adapter for your lower headset race.
normally you would put a 1.5 inch steerer in this part but the adapter for your lefty needs a 1 1/8 headset top and bottom.
Speak to Cotic as i don’t what your headtube sizings are and tell then you need a headset for a none tapered 1 1/8 steerer.

Llanberris up and down is boring.
Yes, go up Llanberris but go down another. see the sights.

We rode up (ish) the rangers (a few hike sections) and down Rhydd Ddu.
Rhydd Ddu is exposed at the top bit and a great ride.
I’ll not forget that decent ever.

Done it a few times walking and on the bike now.
Jealous the Athertons got the train up.
They rode down the Rangers in the video.

NO, avoid the OLD 2013 CDT damper.
They fixed the blowing though travel issue for 2014.

I don’t have any but I have been looking at the same.
Again i read a lot of hit and miss.
Sometimes they lack quality, easy to scratch, poor manufacturing.
Then other times the could have invented sliced bread….

Did the same with my endura bib.
I just gather stiched the edges to prevent further damage of the fabric and then gathered the edges together to remove the hole.
It means i have a tight spot where i’ve sewn it but worked fine for the past 2ish years.

The rev and fox platforms are about the same stiffness.
I’ve run them side by side having owned them both.
The stanchions of the revs have less flex (fore and aft) but the arch connecting the lowers has more flex. The fox having less side to side flex but a bit more fore and aft.
Having run them both they are pretty equal for stiffness when you take both factors into account.

    Inside.
    Less likely to get caught.
Also if you go down it’s not between the frame and the hard surface.
It “could” bend the frame if it hits the floor first (i’ve seen this first hand).

I’ve broken 3 of these things.
    utterly useless.
i’ve even “tested” their uprated version which they are due to release soon.
    still shite!

    I have a mudhugger now.
Granted it’s not the most sexy looking peice of kit but i don’t care and i don’t look like i’ve had managed to crap up my back and beyond.
He is a local guy to me and was really nice when we met him.

look up my partner on here (golfchick) and message her.
i’m sure she can point you in the right direction.

We ride Llandegla a lot, she’s done the Alps plus blacks at degla.

    Kimbers i’m with you there.

why pay a guy to do something like change a seal.
    i’d rather pay £2 to buy a seal than £40 for a new caliper…

North sorry but that’s bollocks, Fox 32’s are not rubber.
The only issue with 2014 Fox 32’s is the cost.

    I use JRA Copter take.
That stuff is thicker than a McD milkshake.

I’ve installed Invisitape and my GF has invisitape it’s ok but IMO could be thicker.

My JRA tape hasn’t peeled off or lifted, i did use a hair-drier to heat it.

Kimbers that inside foot is still down you naughty chap :) can see it’s thrown your weight to your right even on the photo before.

    well done on finishing though.
hope you don’t feel i was having a go just passing observations.

Kimbers firstly.. WTF is going on with your riding position there?
    Weight on the inside foot,
    not leaning the bike.
you actually have all your bodyweight to the inside and your shoving the bike to your left and putting your weight on the right no wonder the wheel folded.

    Hope.
    used loads of there stuff.
agree QR and seatclamps are shite…
The QR’s i have that are a few years old actually work loose over time and i’ve had a clamp fail on me.
The hope kit i do have needed maintaince (bearings, pawls, bleeding, grease and cleaning) but I’m happy with it.

Where it really excels is in the parts.
    If a seal fails on a M4 it’s pennies.
Go replace a seal on my current XT brakes… you CAN’T!!
whole new caliper at a cost fo £40 ish quid.

I will be swapping back to X3’s with M4 calipers at some point.

    Rick is mostly right.
One thing i personally would disagree on is the fox.
The 2014 are not as linear with their ramp up than the 2013 were.

DPD were great and left it with my neighbour.
also ordered some tyres from them recently.

get some hope ones from UKBikestore or return them to hope and ask for new ones to be fitted and use a cheap Shimano BB during the swap.

    Some classic posts here!!
Being a dog owner (She loves to come riding with us) the same old tired posts come up time after time.

andybrad it’s clear don’t have a dog, your questions are trolling at best.

Fuzz head – so if someone is rude to you then all people are going to be rude? In the nicest way try not to judge all dogs and owners by the standards of others you have met. I know it’s difficult but some of us are very consious of our pets.

As has been said a million times it’s about the owner not the dog.
we have a 45kg Ridgeback, I have lost count of the number of times she’s been bitten by smaller dogs.
Dogs are mostly a reflection of their owners.

I Bought some RaceFace Carbon 3/4 risers 775 wide.
they were packaged well, fast sent and a bargin price for new….

    sooooo happy.
they don’t come up on Google searches for items so have to check them manually but worth a look whenever your looking for part.

Although some parts are clearly, odd stock (low sale items).
Those nice black XT cranks they had for sale recently
22/38.. what the heck gear combo is that…
That’s why they were cheap though..
